From the food to the service, everything was terrific. We ducked in on a rainy Monday with two kids. The hostess was very sweet in making sure the boys felt at home. Our waiter, Eugene, was very knowledgeable, all his suggestions were perfect, and so nice. Everything we had, food and drinks, was really good - crab cakes, fish and chips, even the rolls. But the best, if I had to choose, was the she-crab soup and the pimm's cup. The soup is the best I've had. The pimm's cup was better than the ones I've had in a fairly famous restaurant in New Orleans known for this drink. Also the strawberry white chocolate cobbler was outstanding. We stayed for a long lunch trying to wait out the rain. When the boys were too restless to hang out any longer, the staff tried to help us get a cab and even offered to drive us to our car. A great experience!
Review Source:More like 2.5 wt the Taphouse Grill. Â Went here for a cousins dinner after a family wedding reception. Loved the patio, the atmosphere, and the company. It was one of those meals where I assume it was good until I really think about it later and admit it was OK-but not stellar. Just a tad too rich and breaded. Â Fantastic hostess and good service though.
Review Source:My wife, daughters, sister-in-law and I were on vacation in Williamsburg and looking for something other than a chain restaurant. Â Berrets offered a good alternative. Â Fresh local oysters to start, local monkfish for myself, Salmon for my wife and sister-in law.
Kids were even happy with desert. Â Next time we are back in the area we will be repeat customers.
We met my parents in Williamsburg over a long weekend. Â I did some research on places to eat and decided to give Berrets a try based on reviews I read here. Â So glad I did! Â This is honestly, hands down, the best seafood I have ever eaten in my life!! Â I've grown up around the coast and love seafood so believe me I am serious about my seafood. Â It was utterly delicious! Â The place inside in a bit outdated and the bar could use a little paint but the food was outstanding. Â We ended up buying the cookbook we loved it so much! Â The service was top notch and our server answered all of our questions about the menu and even helped us with a wine. Â Truly exceptional experience. Â Would definitely recommend and cannot wait to visit again.
Review Source:We went to Williamsburg on graduation weekend, so didn't have a lot of options. I was looking forward to local seafood and found an opening here. From my husbands cocktail to my main dish of soft shell crabs, sugar overwhelmed every dish. Even the salad with duck breast, sugar completely overwhelmed any other flavor. Supposedly, the salad also had mint and arugula, but none was detectable. Very average.
Review Source:We were looking for a seafood restaurant near the college and this place was recommended by a local. Â What a find! Â We had our best dinner in Williamsburg here and I hope to return again soon.
My dinner began with a delicious appetizer: crabmeat and hummus dip with pita chips. The crab was plentiful and the hummus was served warm--incredible! Â The pita was apparently flash fried, a little brown and crispy on the edges, but still soft in the middle. Almost a meal in itself ... this may be one of the best appetizers I have ever ordered.
My main course was a southern classic, shrimp and grits with BBQ beef short ribs. Tasty sautéd green beans and tomatoes were included on the side with a sprig of rosemary. The short ribs seemed to be just a side line when I ordered it, but it may have been the highlight of the dish -- so tender and good.  The shrimp were large and tasted very fresh, while the grits were perfect, just like you'd expect in the South. All in all, this was a great dish.
A member of our group tried their famous She-Crab Soup. It's name comes from the use of crab roe. I got a taste and it was intense, like eating a crab right out of the sea. Â This is a bold and powerful dish--definitely not for the seafood novice.
I really loved my meal here. Â This place is definitely worth a try as you visit Williamsburg.
Tried to go to the Grille but it was closed so we went to the seafood restaurant. Overpriced is the best word to describe... Came in for a special on lobster crab and steak for $28 that was unfortunately sold out so we tried to get something close ... Steak and lump crab... The price of the steak alone cost more than the special and the 1/4 cup of plain baked crab came in at a whopping $8 and some change... It was good but not nearly worth the price.
Review Source:While on vacation in Willaimsburg, four of us went to Berret's for lunch after reading about it in a magazine. After sharing the best calimari (with a slightly spicy ginger soy dipping sauce) appetizer that I have ever had ... seriously! ... we were evenly split between seafood and beef. Even though everyone was quite happy with their choice, I have to say my roast beef sandwich was really fantastic. First they toasted smokey cheese on a focaccia bread, then piled it high with tender roast beef on a bed of peppers and pickles. Wow!
The atmosphere was pleasant and the waitstaff were efficient, helpful and attentive. I couldn't ask for a better dining experience.
Anyone going to Williamsburg would have to go out of their way to find a better place to eat than here.
**Lunch Only**
What can you do with crab meat? Put it in a sandwich, in a soup, or in a salad. We had all three. The she crab soup is is thick, creamy & delicious. The crab broiler sandwich comes out well, completed with crispy golden fries (an unexpected treat.) The 2-crab salad lives up to its name--there is a lot of crab meat!
Hugely disappointed by this dining experience. Water service was excellent, and waitress was good... but the food was not great. For the price and relatively good reviews my boyfriend and I were expecting a lot more. The grilled scallop, shrimp and little neck clam pasta was oddly sweet, and the protein was not cooked well. The crabcake entree was just so so.
Review Source:We really enjoyed a great seafood meal on the patio on a saturday evening. We had the special which was mahi mahi and scallops in the parchmont paper baked with veggies and was really good, we also had a local bottle of wine which was nice surprise. Service was great, and the menu is diverse. I think for this very touristy town, this is about as good as it gets there.
Review Source:This is for the seafood restaurant. We had dinner on a Sunday evening in the fall. It was NOT busy at all. The Taphouse was busier. The atmosphere is like a less frenetic version of Red Lobster, fairly casual.
They had a small but ambitious menu with some unique offerings. Our party ordered: Clam chowder; house salad; crab cakes; parchment baked codfish and scallops; seafood trio of tuna steak, crab cake, and crab imperial; and corn nut crusted shrimp and crispy oysters (which came with maple syrup dipping sauce).
The average price per entree was around $26-$28. We felt this was about twice as much as the food was worth.
No one in our party was overly impressed with what they ordered. I will review specifically only what I ordered, the seafood trio. The tuna steak was over cooked and bland. I think tuna steak should only be grilled. This seemed pan seared and baked but without any flavorings. The lump crab cake was the best of the three slightly creamy but full of crab. This was served with a tomato-based sauce reminiscent of cocktail sauce but creamy. The crab imperial was presented on a small puff pastry. It had an odd flavor so I didn't finish it. The trio was served with asparagus, green beans, yellow squash, and mashed potatoes. The vegetables were good but nothing special. The mashed potatoes were over seasoned and too thin.
The best part of the meal for me was the bread served before the meal. It was a foccaicia-like bread with a fennel seasoning served with olive oil for dipping. If the rest of the meal had been the same quality of the bread this would be a better restaurant.
Earlier this month, my family and the in-laws spent some time together in Williamsburg, and ended up eating out here the first night. Â
We were fortunate to have a reservation (as a friend from the area recommended, as the line was out the door waiting for a table). Â We were seated promptly upon arrival, but service seemed to go downhill after that. Â Although we were there on a crowded Friday night, the entire dinner service took just over 3 hours, and there were times it was over half an our before we saw our waiter.
That being said, the food in taste and quality was quite good. Â I had the Seafood Baked in Parchment, which was a healthy portion for the cost, and quite good. Â Several members of my party got dishes that included scallops, and every one of them came out cooked well, not a one was overcooked, so their kitchen evidently has their act together when it comes to serving groups all together. Â I'd give the food 4 stars, but for a first experience, the service drives the rating down a bit
I work down the street at the Williamsburg Hospitality House, so me and my co-workers stopped in for happy hour to celebrate a birthday. Â They had some pretty good happy hour deals. Â I mean, $2.00 Red Stripe and $3.00 Blue Moons were right up our alley. Â Not to mention the $1.00 oysters on the half shells. Â ::Specials may change as I've only been once:: Â The outdoor patio was perfect for the spring weather. Â Our server was decent (nothing extra special -- we had to ask for cocktail napkins, but friendly and our order was correct). Â We had some delicious crab crab quesadillas, but they seemed a little over priced. Â
Overall, good experience. Â I'm sure I'll be back. Â An outdoor patio is always a plus.
This place did a great job accommodating a large group (8 of us) and the wait staff was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately I had a bad experience with the food.
Things started out well--I had their signature Bloody Mary, and unlike most you get in restaurants this had the right amount of heat, and the shrimp and peperoncini garnish with the Old Bay on the rim were nice touches. When it came time to order entrees, I ordered the filet mignon, medium rare. Their menu isn't cheap, and this selection is no exception at about $28. When the steak came out medium-well, I sent it back. At this point, it's not really a big deal, mistakes happen. When I got the replacement steak, it was very rare--cool in the center and red as could be throughout. This time I sent it back and just had them take it off the check.
Unfortunately this ruined my dinner and left me very unsatisfied. If you are going to have steak on your menu--and charge nearly $30 for it--you had better be able to prepare it. Although they were great about both getting the replacement and taking it off the check, it was a very disappointing experience, and I don't think you should have to send a steak back twice to get it cooked to the level you want.
The rest in my party had no complaints, and the sides that came with the steak were pretty good, at least 3-star. However, the staff's attitude, along with the really good cocktail, are what bumps this up from a 1-star review overall.
Note: Taphouse prices are different than the main Restaurant.
Friends and I went for a nice early Friday dinner at the Taphouse and had a good time. Calamari was excellent, Cheeseburger was prepared to perfection and quite yummy and live music was cool. Happy hour rail drinks were good too. Especially when the weather is nice, this is a fun place to sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere. Â I'd def go back.
Oh and the Crabcakes were scrumptious too. No filler!
Found this restaurant through Yelp ! Keep yelping people :)
We enjoyed every bite , even water tasted delicious!
We had a she crab soup, Barramundi with veggies and baked oysters with spinach are to die for !
For the first time even ordered a desert - Lemon Goat Cheese Tart !
The atmosphere is  great, cozy !
We are going back soon !
***3.5 stars***
What do you do when you're done taking it "Old School"?
I mean really really Old School, as in tired and hungry after walking along and through the edges of the historical William and Mary campus and Colonial Williamsburg? Â Well you stop in for a brew and some eats.
It had been yeeeeeeeeears since I had visited Williamsburg, and to be honest it had been so long ago that during my last visit I wasn't:
1) Â old enough to enjoy a tasty cerveza legally
2) Â old enough to drive
Yep, a long long time. Â A time before (gasp) Yelp and (double gasp) tech-mology enabled iPhoneys.
Well now with my handy dandy Steve Jobs special, I looked up a place near us that could satiate the need for a cool beverage and some tasty food. Â Berret's popped up and we happily skipped with glee liked dehydrated rabbits walking to a river's edge. Â
Today was not only one a hot day, but it was of THE hottest days in July. Â Sweat covered, tired, thirsty and cranky we walked into Berret's looking for anything to quiet the crummies from our tummies and to quench our thirst.
The beer selection was nice and I ordered a local brew along with a salad served with a generous serving of grilled tuna. Â The wife ordered a crab cake sandwich and we ordered some chicken fingers for the monkeys. Â
My tuna salad had a side of fruit (in the same dish), tomatoes, pecans all on a bed of romaine lettuce. Â The dressing was light and not too overpowering, something that was perfect for such a hot day. Â The tomatoes were a bit off, but the rest of the salad and grilled tuna were tasty. Â
The wife's crab cake was okay and we figured that we it judged a bit too harshly against past tasty MD crab cakes. Â The boys' food was okay, standard chicken fingers type food that keeps the kids happy which was served with a generous serving of fries (one order fed both monkeys).
Overall, the food was just okay. Â I would've loved to have given them a full star (to bring the experience to 4.5 stars), but the price of everything was a bit high for the quality. Â For the near $100 we spent, I wasn't too satisfied with my food.
Despite my feelings about the food, the service was friendly and attentive. Â We ended up sitting at the outdoor bar (Taphouse Grill) area (indoor seating was fully booked) which kept us patrons cool with nice fans. Â Sitting outside was a bit entertaining as a family sitting across from us was traumatized by the occasional buzzing of a few bumblebees. Â I giggled a bit each time the husband, wife and kids screamed as a little bee would fly by them.
Berret's is great if you need a break and don't feel like driving somewhere else to eat. Â You know what, even if you drive there is NOTHING else around. Â Stick to Berret's, have a few brews and take a break from the heat and all things old school....errr.....colonial. Â :-)
Been here before several years ago and was pleased. It has a great reputation, but we were disappointed on this trip. Â Here's the good, bad, and the ugly for our lunch at Berrets on Christmas Eve day ... table for three...
Soups ($4.95) - She Crab Soup was delicious as expected. Topped with sherry (poured by the waitress), it had all the elements I expected and plenty of she-roe. The Clam Chowder was tasty but had very little clam itself. We're not sure if we even saw one clam between the two bowls, but there was plenty of bacon and potatoes. I could tell it had Smithfield ham or bacon in it because it had that traditional smokey ham flavor which overpowered just a bit. Not impressed with the clam chowder.
Apps - Calamari with a soy ginger dipping sauce ($7.95). This was pretty good - not too heavily battered, portion was decent, and the sauce was tasty. The honey overtones competed a bit too much with the ginger, though.
Drinks - water and iced tea - no surprises. Glasses filled pretty regularly, and the service was decent.
Entrees:
1) Grilled black Angus burger with Swiss and topped with pan-fried crabcake. This was probably the most reasonable item because it was basically two entrees in one, and priced just under $13. It came with fries. Â The burger was flavorful but not out of this world... a bit dry. The crabcake was really good.
2) The daily special - Grilled Chicken Sandwich with potato salad. The potato salad was not mayo based and had mustard seeds it in. It looked more like German potato salad. I can't review that plate because I didn't taste either the sandwich or the potato salad, but our guest didn't comment except to say it was good.
3) Grilled Shrimp over Lobster Mac & Cheese entree for $13. Don't waste your money. The description on the menu says "sun-dried tomato, bacon & white cheddar cheese sauce" and they held true to the ingredient listing... there were so many sun-dried tomatoes that that's all I tasted - not even the cheese. Plus, the thing was served in a mini cast iron skillet, and the waitress cautioned how hot it would be. I had to send it back because it was ice cold. I could place my hand on the side of the skillet and not even get warmed. Didn't find one bit of lobster, and the shrimp were so-so. Â Small portion and no side dish.
We skipped desserts, and the total bill was about $60 before tip.
Based on this experience, I would venture on to another restaurant to explore Williamsburg instead.
Seafood is offered everywhere in Williamsburg. Â Berret's specializes in it so we were looking forward to our dinner reservation last week.
We were not disappointed. Â The She-Crab Soup and New England style Clam Chowder were very good - not too thick but very rich and with complex flavors. Â I also had the Grilled Duck Breast Chopped Salad and it was very very good - nicely dressed, properly dried greens and lots of tender duck. Â My wife had the Steamed Clams and she raved about it. Â Our dinner companions had the Seafood Baked in Parchment Paper and they were very pleased with their selection.
But, we were really impressed with the Cobbler of the Day dessert. Â It was, easily, large enough for all four of us! Â And it was terrific. Â It takes 40 minutes to make so order it in advance.
It was so good, we went back another night for dinner. Â We had light dinners just so we would have room for the cobbler.
The first night was Apple/Blueberry Cobbler and the second night was a Peach Caramel Cobbler. Â It comes hot, crusty and ala mode!
The service was excellent. Â We had young but very experienced ladies. Â They knew their menu and made suggestions. Â And, they warned us about the large portion size of the cobbler so we did not over order on that.
We were very happy with Berret's on both occasions!
Jim
I've been here a few times now, and I can't help but rate it ok. Â The entrees are $20-$30, and if you add a starter (even a salad), drink, and desert you'll easily crest $50 a person. Â At that price level you should expect the best of the best, and what you get at Berrets is just well above average.
For that price you can do better in Williamsburg (think Le Yacca), or you can save a lot of money and get similar quality food (Maurizio's, Oceans and Ale). Â Of course, this place has location going for it, you can walk off Colonial Williamsburg and eat here, and that is in fact a huge plus.
The other issue is a mismatch between the expected attire and service. Â This place works with "business casual" attire, particularly outside. Â The service though is more formal, fitting of the higher price point. Â It seems a mismatch. Â If I'm not in a suit or tuxedo I don't expect such formal service, but that's what you get. Â It is very good service though, just a bit, well, ridged.
If you're downtown, and walking to this place it will be good. Â If you're in the greater Williamsburg area in a car, perhaps you should go elsewhere.
Came for a light bite at 8pm on a Sunday night. Circled around the building to the reception stand only to find that we had to go BACK outside to seat ourselves at the taproom.
Sat down and waited...and waited...until finally our waiter took our drink order. Then we waited...and waited...and when they came, he was gone so quickly that I couldn't ask him for sweetener. By the time he came back for me to ask, I was already in need of a refill.
Then a musician starts up who wasn't bad, but was LOUD for a Sunday night making it hard to talk. And I don't think my parents are really all that into an acoustic version of Jimi Hendricks' "Hey Angel".
We ordered four burgers. The waiter tells us we can have anything for a side...except the mashed potatoes...and the cole slaw, as they were out.
So then we wait probably 30-40 minutes with nothing so we ask when our food is coming. All the waiter can say is that the kitchen is backed up and no one has been getting anything, which is true. Everyone around us is sitting and waiting too. Then the manager comes over to say the same thing, only adding that they're cooking now. I have to point out (again) that we need refills as iced tea is the only thing we've gotten.
Food comes and was actually pretty good, though the slapdash service continues as I have to ask for napkins and silverware. Then everyone disappears and we notice the side salad didn't come with any dressing. I go by the kitchen and flag down a waiter to get our waiter but he rudely tells me he's not our waiter so I just reiterate "Can you get our waiter?" he didn't but at least the manager checked in on us so I then ask her for dressing and she offers to take 25% off the bill.
The evening was rounded out by attempting to pay our check three times before I caught our waiter's attention. I think the kitchen had him so it the weeds that he had tunnel vision as he went around doing things.
All in all, it was a good burger of generous size, but it took over an hour to get in and out, the music was too loud, and the service was frantic which caused it to be slapdash with slow refills, missing napkins and silverware, forgetting the dressing for the salad, and being oblivious to trying to pay the check.
Visited Colonial Williamsburg and was starving by dinner time. Â We went to this spot for dinner due to the high reviews and proximity. Â Apparently, it's the taphouse side that we should have ate at because the service and food in the restaurant was only okay. Â It was an extremely hot day and we wanted to be inside for the A/C.
For being a classier restaurant, the dress code is a bit odd for their staff. Â The hostess wore a cotton sun dress that you would wear to the beach with flip flops. Â The servers were in a full double breasted uniform and carried EVERYTHING (I mean everything, even a couple of slices of lemon) on a giant tray and used a server each time. Â
The food was decent, fancier in presentation than taste. Â Good money was spent here, but we were starving a couple of hours after. Â
I would recommend the taphouse instead if you're willing to sit outside.
Was hoping for a little more when we picked Berrets Seafood for dinner during our trip to Williamsburg. Turned out to be just ok.
The waitress we had wasn't the best. She wasn't around enough and could have been more polite. Then, when we were all set to order she told us they were all out of shrimp and oysters, which forces three of the four of us to reconsider what we were ordering.
I ordered the she crab soup and the parchment wrapped scallops and fish (I can't recall what type). The she crab soup was tasty but there were these kind of gritty little clumps in it that threw me off a bit. The parchment wrapped seafood wasn't bad either, it just didn't have a ton of flavor. That seemed to be the case with everyone else's meal as well. Not bad but not enough flavor to be great. Â Maybe we might have been happier with the crab cakes.
Not in the area often, but I don't think I'd go back if I was.
Was in town for work last Monday and stopped by to visit this area while killing time before a flight home.
Asked my Yelp app for food recs and found Berrets. Unfortunately, the restaurant didn't open until 5PM so my coworker and I sat outside at Berrets Taphouse Grill. I'm guessing it's just a more limited menu.
We both ordered the Triple Crab Sandwich (She Crab soup + Crab Salad + Crab Cake). Everything was delicious and there were no fillers.
We got so much crab for our money that I might be crabbed out for a while.
So, forgiving them for us showing up without reservations on a Saturday night, we were squeezed into a small table for two in the back room right by the kitchen. Â A bit crazy traffic-wise, but still picturesque and the staff was extremely polite and accommodating!
After our salads, hers a grilled duck special and mine a great Caesar salad (with an anchovy), we ordered a bottle of Horton Vineyard Viognier to pair with our salmon and scallop in parchment paper special. Â One of the most memorable meals I think I'll ever have - couldn't have asked for anything better. Â We enjoyed each and every bite of it.
We were so satiated that we took our espresso chocolate tarts for later, with which they had no problem. Â Made for a great nightcap with some port in the room.
Definitely go visit this establishment. Â Definitely make reservations.
The meal overall was good with only minor issues.
We both started with the clam chowder and this was the first issue. The chowder was over seasoned with pepper and other seasonings to the point that you would think they were trying to cover something up in the flavor.
After that debacle, we had our entrees of grilled chicken breast and the parchment paper wrapped nightly seafood special. They were both winners. The seafood was tilapia, scallops, and red potatoes and it was succulent, moist and full of flavor. The chicken, while on the bone, was a very good cut and was done perfectly with no pink at all.
The service was good, efficient and the only other issue, Â were the two snooty hostesses at the front.
God forbid you show up a few minutes early for your reservation. Even though we saw a good number of open tables and both hostesses were just hanging out. We like several other people had to wait for what seemed like no reason.
Overall I would recommend Berret's as long as you can deal with the attitude from the girls up front.
Have you people never had seafood before? Â I can't believe the rating on this place. Â
Crab meat was not fresh. Â In fact, none of the fish I've ever had here actually tasted fresh. Â Overpriced, bad service, what the hell else can I say about this place? Â Williamsburg man, freaking Williamsburg. Â Old people have no taste. Â I seriously think your tastebuds whither up and die when you get to a certain age.
Dined here 10/10/10. Chose the restaurant based on other reviews. Cant say it lived up to the 5 stars others have provided. However ... Its worth noting - there is a formal restaurant ($$$) and casual dining ($$). Reservations required for restaurant, none for casual dining. We had a reservation, changed it once same day and then canceled when we arrived as we discovered the casual dining, mainly as we had the kids with us. Staff were very accommodating.
Others have raved about the She Crab soup, I tried it and wasn't overly impressed. Definitely have had better. We ordered calamari, crabcakes, and shrimp which were very good .... but they had ran out of Tartar Sauce for the crabcakes... so they served cocktail sauce instead with apologies ... cant believe a seafood restaurant can run out of Tartar sauce. Overall, service was OK, but I expected much more from Berrets given other reviews.
Second time visitor to Berrets and I must say it was again a nice dining experience.
What was served was prepared well and very tasty. We enjoyed the Cajun-fried flounder and pan-fried crab cakes....both were done just right, with a nice presentation and fresh-tasting veggies.
Only 2 cons: I thought the prices were a bit high and the serving portions were  too small. The basket of muffins we were given prior to the meal contained only 2 and they could have been warmed up more..
We will certainly eat here again when visiting Colonial Williamsburg.
Went here for lunch with my parents one day while visiting Williamsburg and thought it'd be a nice place to just sit down and relax. It was, but like everything there are pros and cons.
The pros: Really nice patio area that provided enough shade while letting some sun poke through. The servers were very nice. The food was pretty darn good. We had the fruit and cheese plate for the appetizer and all got the soup and sandwich combo. The swiss onion soup was delicious! Imagine if french onion soup was pureed in a blender with some cream and no bread/cheese. It was subtle yet satisfying. The sandwich I ordered consisted of roast pork, apple slices, brie, some greens and a maple syrup vinaigrette or something. It was pretty damn tasty too. Served up with a side of fresh french fries in a paper cone.
Now the cons: The nice servers were extremely slow. The cheese plate we ordered had hardly anything on it. And the whole meal was way over priced.
I'm not sure which outweighs the other, the pros or the cons, so I guess if I go to Williamsburg again I'll have give it another shot.
Slow service (although our server only had 3 tables), below average food and is was smelly (yuk). Â Nothing ruins a meal quite like the smell of nasty mop water that hasn't been changed in a few weeks. Â We were siting on the patio around 9:45 PM when someone started mopping the kitchen. Â The smell of the water was so rank it turned my stomach. Â So if they are cleaning their kitchen with dirty mop water, to the point where I can smell it 35-feet away, it makes me a little concerned for my health.
Did I mention the food was really boring and well below average? Â There is better seafood at Red Lobster, and it will be cheaper too (oh yeah, I hate Red Lobster, so that tells you the quality here).
So needless to say, avoid it!
Up-scale comfort (sea)food.
Berrets serves seafood prepared well in a very comfortable setting. The service was attentive. Â The restaurant was quiet enough for easy conversation.
I had the restaurant week special: Â she crab soup, caesar salad, and flounder and scallops papillotte. Â One of my dinner companions had lobster tail and steak; the other had steak with brie. Â Both were very happy with their choices. The food was good but not memorable. Â
Berrets is a very pleasant restaurant for a very nice evening with friends. Â And I get the impression that is exactly what Berrets is trying to be. Â If you're want a knock out gastronomic experience, Berrets is not the place.
