I am from out of town and had the misfortune of staying at a hotel near this establishment. I assumed that it would be some Caribbean or tropical cuisine. The place has meatloaf on the menu and the closest they get to tropical is a fish taco. Utah is probably more tropically themed. They were out of all bottled beer except Red Stripe and Natty Light. I ordered a martini and the glass came out half full and was mixed poorly. The highballs were weak and served in plastic beer mugs. I ordered the gator bites as an appetizer; pure salt and batter. This place does not offer any flavor beyond salt. My meal was the "Big Fish" dinner, essentially fish and chips. The fish was a large piece, but it was all batter and terribly salty. I couldn't finish half of it. The coleslaw and fries were at least edible. I travel all over the east coast, so I eat at some dives and manage to put down some horrible food, but Big Licks licked my appetite. I would rather eat at McDonald than ever eat here again. The service was slow but adequate. The prices were reasonable, but then again, you can't eat the food.
Review Source:Are you looking for chicken sandwiches? Â They have them here. Â Probably best for lunch, I don't think I will be coming back after the sun goes down unless it is to meet friends for drinks.
If you look this place up on <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fallmenus.com&s=fc06c95fb79ed04cecf8a34f2a1fe0af54e720572c6b7050d5a229da4d84cb5c" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://allmenus.com</a> they list a lot of things I didn't see on the menu. Â I was hoping for a meal, but I only remember seeing chicken sandwiches and hamburgers on the menu.
This is a fun, cheap and local place with a different atmosphere for the area.
Big Licks is tucked away off of Odd Fellows rd and is a great place to meet with friends after work. It is a little older and not the cleanest place around, but it is what it is. They offer live music on Wednesdays and some other nights as well. They also have one of the better deck atmospheres in the area. The place has a tropical theme similar to Margaritaville.
A downside is that the lounge area, where the music is, still allows smoking and gets pretty thick in there.
The food is ok and the service is decent, but people come here more for the cheap prices and fun feel. A great place if you are looking to hang out with the "locals" and hear some music.
