Bird Bowl has really stepped it up over the past couple of years! I'm noticing a lot of older people coming here during the week for the drink specials. The fact that Bird Bowl, my childhood go-to bowling place, now has ladies nights, is a crazy thing for me to process.

Came here with a group recently, and had a great time over junk food and drinks. The music is really, really, sincerely terrible, though, and the arcade games are as crappy as ever. I'm pretty sure I won year-old candy in one of the games!

They've really updated the place since the days we all came here as kids. Bird Bowl is one of the few originals left. When I go bowling I don't want a shee shee experience. I want to drink a pitcher of beer with friends and bowl. They have a good deal pretty much everyday of the week but the Sunday night deal is my favorite 2 hours of bowling plus shoe rentals for $9.99 per person. You can't beat it.  There's usually no wait to get a lane (they have 60). They also have a billiards room, a big arcade room, and a  full bar. Not crazy about the food but hey, we come here to bowl! Oh and the staff is really nice too.

    For bowling - YAY
For food - well they have some pretty good wings. really they do! cheap beer and tasty fries. I mean c'mon guys..its bird bowl. not a fifi bowling place and if your looking for something like that then your nuts!

Come for the bowling stay for the bowling and enjoy the bowling. Have a chicken wing and a beer also.

We go to this place frequently for pool league tournaments. The billiards room is usually over-crowded. Most of the seating is a long bench running along the walls of the room. The distance between the tables and seats are minimal, so you are pretty much always in somebody's way whether you are sitting down or standing in a corner. As far as food goes, their pizza is okay; their burgers are edible at best. The employees are very nice.

I haven't gone bowling in a long time! Last night I went with my bf and two friends. We had a blast and only had to wait about 30 minutes to get the lane (we played at the arcade while we waited). The total came out to $47.07 for an hour including shoes.  So worth it!!!

Thursdays, Ladies night!! wohooo!!!! Ladies don't pay for two games, although we do pay for shoes!! So make sure you bring some friends and spend some time here.  The only thing is that Ladies Night is only for walk ins, meaning... either you get there early or you wait.  The week I went, there were no Leagues, so the wait was like 20 mins.  But apparently if the Leagues are there, there is a longer wait.  They have several offers during the week and throughout the day.  Check them out!! Worth some fun!!!

Went here on Wednesday afternoon to shoot some pool. Didn't have any food or drinks though their specials looked really, really good! $1.50 bowling on Wednesdays and ladies' night on Thursday nights?? That's a pretty sweet deal! Unfortunately, I'm a terrible bowler (I'm not any better at shooting pool but I enjoy that a bit more) so we just stuck to the billiards. It was pretty empty so they lose a star because when we arrived we had to hunt down the worker to rent the pool table. However, by the same token, when our hour was up we were the only people playing pool (like I said, it was Wednesday and $1.50 bowling is apparently the fan fave over the $10/hr pool rate) and so we were able to finish our game without being harassed to pay for an extra hour. All in all, it was a chill atmosphere and a great location so I would definitely return/recommend it!

This bowling place it's okay. Not my favorite. They need to work on more cleaning. Their prices are okay per person and they give you a free hour. Parking space is big.

Well after a long day of working out and eating dinner with my friends, we decided to end the night drunk bowling. Needless to say that actually happened, I haven't been to bird bowl in awhile ... I don't know about you guys but I still prefer don carters ... ok so lets get to the point

    Pros:
    - The environment is fun
    - Everything is cheap (not super cheat) but affordable if kiddies are in a budget.
    - The drinks are cheap
    - The building is well kept not all the time but you can see they put effort in trying
    - Great place to keep yourself entertained with friends on a boring day

    Cons:
    - The staff some what attentive
    - Bowling League Clubs be-careful going on mondays - wednesday thats when the old people go and take over and last night they went crazy on us youngens.
    -  The food... you want a heart attack.. ? eat it.

Would I recommend this place.. Yes of course. Come on by ...

Just had my son's 8th Birthday Party here!   It was a BLAST for everyone invited.  Even though there were 4 other parties there at the same time,  we had our own hostess that waited on us hand and foot.  The DJ/Master of Ceremonies had all the kids from all the parties entertained with dancing and individualized bowling contests for free bowling cards.  All the adults had a great time just watching the kids have a good time!!  Party package includes 1 1/2 hours of bowling time PLUS the dancing/games and food/cake time.  The extra food we ordered was plentiful and delicious! Worth every penny and will consider having other parties here in the future!!  THANKS BIRDBOWL FOR A GREAT TIME!!

    2. Lots of beer.
    3. Lots of junk food!!
    4. Lots of birthday parties.
    5. Lots of people.
    6. Lots of people who say they came here when they were kids.
    7. Lots of people who you wouldn't see at Lucky Strike.
    8. Lots of people who seem to take their bowling VERY SERIOUSLY!
    9. Lots of fun.

    Yes, this place gets packed.

Yes, there are a lot of young kids, teenagers, families and serious bowling teams.

Yes, the place is old and loud and far out west.

But this is the best bowling in Miami and the only place where you don't have to worry about anyone in your party being of age to bowl after a certain hour. They always have some kind of promotion going on every night. They lanes are not short and you don't have a maximum number of games that you can play.

Unlike, STRIKE this place is casual, entertaining and reliably fun. There are plenty of food options and decently priced booze. Make it happen people!

This place will not go down. Ever. And will continue to be every pre-pubescent middle schooler or under-18 rugrat's Saturday night social church.

    Drink 1.

It's a total madhouse and thankfully, there's a bar where you can throw caution to the wind and head straight for three-sheets-land. You know, where you can forget the hormone-crazed adolescents and toss back a pint with a grown up. Should you nimble fingers desire exercise, there's a full-on arcade filled with any game you've ever thought about playing. That bizarro big-kid who's way to close to being 19 than he is 12 is profusely sweating to some Dance Dance game that's more like Stomp The Yard. All the bells, whistles, sirens, and sounds of cha-ching have you grasping for quiet sanity?

    Drink 2.

In the other room, there's a massive array of pool tables. Again, this is where the grown ups hang out.

    Drink 3.

The lanes are good 'n' plenty, but I had trouble finding any balls from a communal rack. Did I miss it? Doesn't matter, I bowled a turkey without trying. Then the clock struck "party" and all the black lights came on and strobes challenged even the most seizure-resistant. This is how the kids do it these days.

    Drink 4.

I did not enjoy my experience at this place. I was placed next to the lowest class group on blacks I've ever seen. They looked like the ones from prison movies. They were screaming and jumping on each other nonstop like a bunch of crazy animals. There were many open lanes but they  put us next to the thugs out of the prison movie.

The pricing was outrageous!!!  It cost $30 for an hour vs $2.50 a person/game.

We went as fast as we possible could but only finished 2 games. So had we just paid per game, the 3 of us would have paid $15 however we got ripped off by paying $30 for the hour.  We basically paid double as much as we should have paid.

Paying by the hour is a ripoff at this place unless you are the fastest bowler alive.

On a nice night out in Miami, we decided to go bowling over at Bird Bowl. It was decided that my attire needed to be changed since you should not bowl in Mini-skirts.

It was kinda sweet to do something new that I haven't done in so many years - but honestly I was scared of looking like an idiot or ripping off a nail in the bowling ball. Yeah, I have long nails + Bowling Balls = Good luck.

It was so fun, we signed up for 2 hours for $12 each including shoe rentals. Socks were $3.00 purchased in a vending machine. The shoes are hideous with flaming bowling balls on them, but everyone must wear them.

I'm not sure how much the pitchers of beer were, but we had 3 pitchers and suddenly Beks had her A GAME going on.  I was throwing strikes until I saw my friend's face, damn....I guess it was cuter when I was hitting gutter balls.

We had so much fun, I would definitely consider bowling as a fun thing to do in the bay as well. Nothing like a little fun competition to bring out the feisty beks.

Yes I went to Bird Bowl- you gotta problem with that? Bird Bowl is the same old place I went to as a middle school-er but it is oh so much better with beer and no gang fights. Looks like we are both maturing.

PS- It was my friends b-day and they let me bring in food, balloons, a cake, no problem.

Best bowling ally in Miami. Only place I know where you can bowl and play pool without braking the bank.

This place doesn't have the glow in the dark allies, glittered balls, or fancy spancy decor like Strikes and that's A-OK in my book. Those fancy places are super expensive, superficial, and over rated. (not to mentioned overrun by a bunch of unsupervised teens, ekk!)

Bird Bowl has a genuine moms and pops feel to it but don't think that means it's run down.

Bird Bowl is staffed very well. There is always someone not far that is willing to help and I stress *willing*. Also, the place is kept very clean even on the nights that there's a crowd.

The ambiance is great. There's always a crowd of people having fun which is contagious. Also, it's not the same crowd that frequent places like Strikes. It's more of a mature crowd and less of that annoying, unsupervised teen convergence that really kills the mood of a great place. The regulars that come to bowl here are people that love to bowl. Some even seem pro which is really fun to watch.

Also the beer pitchers are super cheap, cheapest I've ever seen which is two thumbs up! =)

We came here for a day of family fun, and we had such a good time. Bird Bowl reminds me of a nicer version of Cloverleaf, a bowling alley that used to be in North Dade. Older bowling alleys are dying and places like Lucky Strike and Splitsville are popping up everywhere, but for a family of 4, bowling there is over $100 for a few games/hours. Bird Bowl came in around $40 for 2 games with shoe rentals for the 4 of us. You can't beat that. We also played a few games of pool for $10.

There are tons of lanes here, and all of them were filled. We played pool for a while before they had a lane ready for us. They also have a decent sized arcade and a restaurant. One thing I saw that was really cool was a metal slope that allowed small children to bowl. When the little girl next to us wanted to bowl, they pushed this metal slope in front of the lane and she set the ball on top of it and then pushed the ball. The slope would give it enough speed to get down the lane.

We heard they remodeled, and you can see that they work to keep the place up. With so many kids running around, I was shocked at how clean everything was. The staff was friendly, and even though they were so busy, no one seemed flustered. They were really nice, and it the happy vibe was contagious. Everyone in the place was having a great time.

Even though Bird Bowl is far from me compared to other bowling alleys, it will probably be my first choice next time I go bowling...probably won't be too soon, though because I'm a horrible bowler! Bumpers please!

Ok, if youre going to go during peak hours on a weekend night you should expect to take a while to find parking and wait in line for a spot to bowl.

Other than that, cool place to bowl, food isnt THAT great, but I like the vibe.

Bird Bowl has received a major make over. I grew going to bowl here and have seen it improve a little bit at a time. They have great deals for all sorts of budgets.

I went on a tuesday night and for $9.99 you get two hours of bowling and the shoe rental, since it was only my husband and I playing the game it was defitnely more than a two hour game.

Expect it to be a full house that night since they have team competitions and a lot of family.

This place is great and is great for a family night out.

Bird Bowl used to be the only alternative to Don Carter's back in the day but now it has to compete with places like Strike and Splitsville...and sadly it doesn't hold up against them. Everything is very outdated and old...the place smells kind of weird and the food is pretty crappy. I remember I used to love coming bowling here when I was younger but now that I have other options I hold higher standards. I'm sorry Bird Bowl but your establishment needs a makeover.

Wow coming here after about a decade really makes me feel old.  It was like I was transported to what we thought the future was going to look like in 1990.

This places gets real busy so prepare to wait for a lane or shoes, there are now 2 bars to wait at, just do yourself an favor and do not order a mixed drink, go for the brews.  The arcade is a little bigger than I remember it, and the selection is fair.  The place seems like a Disneyland in Westchester, very family friendly but also fun to just drop off the kiddes.

Overall this place could have upped it's game but a bit from their remodeling to not just look a little better, but redesign the whole atmosphere as a whole.

yeah their shoes are kinda stinky but so are you my friend, so are you.

Bird Bowl, despite its attempt to fit in with the bowling alleys of the future (Strike, Splitsville), is still the nasty little Bird Bowl we all know and unconditionally love.

My last memory included fluorescent lighting, dirty floors, and Westchester thug-wannabes from five years ago. They've since added in crazy disco lights, laser pointers and loud salsa music.

While Bird Bowl is only superficially better, they've still got a long way to go.

    * The parking on a weekend night is impossible. I'm talking about spending a good 20 minutes parking.

    * The crowd has stayed somewhat the same - tons of Westchester preteens.

*Expect to pay about $5 for a mixed drink or beer. Expect your drink to be very badly mixed. Expect to get terrible service from the one girl they have working at the bar. Take advantage of the fact that there are three areas where you can order a drink.

    * Wait time on a Saturday night to bowl: 1.5 hours. Add this to 20 minutes you've spent parking. You're not getting any younger here, folks.

Sure, its inexpensive and overall not a horrible bowling alley. But if I can pay a premium to not have to endure the crowd, the wait, and the gross drinks, then I will.

I gotta say I love their makeover. The oversized pins in the front are very disney-esque and the clean look is very sharp. I came in here late on night with about 5 other people and the games weren't very much. We rented out a lane for about an hour for about 30 dollars and shoes were about 20 bucks. If you think about it, that's really not that bad, and the lane rental is up to 8 people so that could save a few bucks. I don't love how it was so dark and all the fancy lasers being portrayed across the lanes, but I guess its a night thing. I would have preferred it to have been simple jane lights on and the nice sound of pins being bashed. If I remember correctly, the pool table area also doesn't allow smoking so thats cool.

As others have put it so eloquently, this place is in fact a staple, and with renovations, people can mess up their business very easily with the wrong choices, but bird bowl didn't. It's a great improvement and I will be back.

Miami last old school Bowling Alley and in my opinion still the best one(they have done a lot of renovations)    It looks like a bowling alley and it smells like beer, popcorn, video games and feet or what a bowling alley is supposed to smell like
They have some good specials through out the week and a really cool souvenir cup when you buy a beer that also lets you get refills at a reduced price - $1

Sure, you might find yourself next to a mom that's holding her baby in one hand and bowling with the other    It might get filled up with pimple-faced teenagers    Stop worrying about all that and just bowl already

I'm going to be doing a GMYE here so get your balls ready

Hey, a bowling alley in Miami that is actually a classical bowling alley. While it's nice not having a dress code or ridiculous prices, it really isn't that great of a bowling alley compared to other bowling alleys. The employees at the front desk are slow and dull, and yelled at my friend as he picked up an ornament off the ground and was putting it back on their Christmas tree. The seating is a little awkward and crowded, so it makes it difficult to enjoy the company of your group.

Bird Bowl is a fun place to visit. The atmosphere is relaxed and laid back. They have ample space and the music is not too loud that it causes a problem thinking. The employees are nice and corteous and the cost is very reasonable. On tuesdays night they have two hour bowling for  for $9.99. That an $6 pitchers are the main reason the crew and i head out there.

Out of all the bowling alleys in Miami this is definitely my favorite one. I hate when bowling alleys but neon lights, and crazy screens. Unfortunately most bowling alleys in Miami are like that. Bird Bowl has managed to keep it relatively old school which is so nice. they also have tons of lanes and great discounts. Tuesday nights you can play for like.. 2 hours from $10 or something like that. check out their website for great deals. just don't expect to get a lane right away on a Friday night at 11pm.

They also have a really good game room and pool room for those of you who don't love bowling or suck at it like me. I'll take any of you down at air hockey though!

I like Bird Bowl. Its a little hard to find at firs but other than that its cool. Th pizza is pretty good and the nachos are processed cheese with chips for dippin', taastyy, And they got beer if you drink it. The lanes are cool and the music isnt too bad either. I may bring my own ball next time though the holes are kinda small.

While there are more trendy offerings, Bird Bowl is an excellent choice if you want traditional bowling fun. Lots of lanes, reasonable prices, and there are also plenty of pool tables and even video games. Food is simple - pizza, burgers, wings (the wings are pretty good), and of course, suds. What more could you ask for? And for those who must be digitally connected, there's free Wi-Fi !

'Twas hoppin' (Fri nite), many a teenie bopper and 70s music to make you feel like one, for those our age.

Many, many, many, many lanes, tho, so not much of a wait. It does have a bit of a classic blue-collar alley atmosphere, except for the full bar w/cocktails - not just your average beer - nothing like sipping on a martini between throws... a real glass would be my preference, but it is a bowling alley after all.

    Experience: gruntling
    My score: shameful

This place brings back some old memories, I used to come here a lot, before Strike ever existed. This bowling alley is a little old, not impressive, but you'll have a good time, if in good company. They also have a billiards area, and an arcade.

    3.5 Stars

So I came here super randomly last Sunday evening...  This place has been around for years!  I mean forever and ever.  It's definitely a Miami staple.

My friend and I arrive around 8pm and decided to get a lane for an hour.  This place is super unpretentious and simple.  It's a bowling alley and looks exactly as such.  There are about 60 lanes to bowl from, and they do have an arcade, a bar, and a restaurant, so there's something to do for everyone.  And its all pretty cheap.  I think we were charged $17 + tax total for the shoes, the lane, and an hour of bowling.  It came out to like $20!  And the beers were $3.50 each I think.  Not the cheapest, but not super expensive.

I really had fun here.  The place was kind of empty when we came, which I was happy about since I hadn't been bowling for YEARS before this.  And, who knew, I actually did pretty well!  I got a couple of strikes and everything!!!  The shoes were decent, but I was a little weary when the employees sprayed them down with this medical disinfectant spray that said "kills the herpes and aids viruses" on the can...  Hmmm...  Well at least my feet won't catch anything!  LOL

All in all, I had a lot of fun bowling in a very simplistic manner.  This place is just that, a bowling alley.  No bells, whistles, etc...  Just bowling.  And sometimes, that's all you need.  :)

i went to bird bowl with some friends and we got the 360 ounce beer keg. i have to say it was a ton of fun. i agree with jordan that bird bowl is probably the last old school bowling venue in miami; there are also some pretty cool lanes in hollywood, off of pembroke road (not technically miami).

the crowd here is typically college and younger. it's very chongalicious too, if that's your thing.

    cheers

A gritty, working-class bowling alley with no pretensions. You will not find black lights here, no electronica music, no fancy cocktail bars, and no attitude. This is a place the Big Lebowski would feel home at because this place is a simple bowling alley from back in the day (old men keeping the shoes, baleful overhead lighting, mix of families).
The alley's small diner-top does offer pretty greasy (so bad it's good) offerings, the french fries and chili fries are really good, no joke, but it could have been the late hour.
TV reality: The guys at Miami Ink (TLC Channel) have been filmed here before.

The only classic, old school bowling venue in Miami. The other closest old school bowling alley in Miami-Dade are in Homestead.

Being old school, you can bowl for prices lower than anywhere else in Miami.

They also have billiards, arcades, and a bar. And it is located in a strip mall with plenty of other offerings, including yummy affordable Cuban burgers at El Rey de las Fritas (see my review on that).
