Family Lunch @ Black Angus last week.
Normally my food is cooked just right, tastes just right and everything else that goes with it.
but recently something was different.
We all ordered med-well steak, except one person order a well done steak,
of course the well done steak was right. but when it came to us that order our steak med well it was pass well done, That didn't sit well with me or my other family.
the artichokes we order wasn't cooked as well as all the other times we orderd
service was ok.. so i'm guessing
* A new cook getting adjusted to his shift and or the kitchen
I can tell that it wasn't the same cook(s) that day. the artichokes normally done right grilled just right with the right taste..
* Waitress haven't seen her before maybe she worked that day and time.
anyway.
Hopefully my next visit will be better so stay tune Yelp Readers..
2 Stars for the Chocolate Cake!
We ordered the Campfire Meal for Two.
Sampler Planter was okay, pretty basic.
The Potato Soup had HUGE pieces of potato in it. I mean I had to cut it up before eating. Maybe it was Potato Stew.
The Ribeye (which I paid extra for) was tasteless..... flavorless... bleh! I could have went to Primo's or any truck stop and bought a steak sandwich (for cheaper) and it probably would have tasted better.
My husband got a fully loaded baked potato with no butter! NO BUTTER! Really?
I think I will stick to my husband's awesome steaks from now on. All the good steakhouses are not up to par anymore.
My husband and I had the burger with onion rings on top. The fries were cold , thin and greasy. The burger was tuff greasy and the only flavor to it was charcoal. The bread they serve is very good. I only ate three bites of my food and told my waiter the burger was not good. He did not offer any compensation even though it was clear the food was not ate by my husband or I, we both had the same burgers. I told the front staff as well, Â besides an apology and better luck next time, there was nothing done. It was a waste of money and I wish I had gone to wendy's instead. The staff was friendly , I just felt like they should have done something more.
Review Source:I ordered a rib eye steak medium rare, the meal had absolutly no presentation, the forgot my mushrooms and it was cooked rare. Fortunately I am pretty savage when it comes to my beef so I still ate it even though it probably wasn't a great idea. My wife ordered ribs and it also wasn't the best. Just mediocre at best. Service was fine. Cleanliness was good. Quality of meat was fantastic, only wish it was prepared and presented better.
Also the beer was only moderately cold and everyone loves an ice cold beer.
I hadn't been here in a while. Plenty of friends love this place. I went here for lunch yesterday and usually I'm annoyed to have to search the menu for vegan fair this time New Item: Vegetable Cobb Salad. Fabulous... I ordered without the oil on the grilled veggies and no blue cheese. This came out of the kitchen beautiful, but better than that it is delicious. I will definitely not begrudge outings here in the future, I'll probably initiate them just for this meal.
Yummy all around.
I had to look around the room for the hidden camera to see if I was being pranked on a television show.
Our visit was rediculous !
We were seated in a 2 person mini booth ( there were four of us)
As soon as the waitress brought our menus to the table she waited till we opened them and immediately asked us to order. When we asked for a moment to look at the menu she said nothing and walked away.
We eventually were given enough time to decide on appetizers, which were a waste of time. The shrimp cocktail ended up being miniatur shrimp, butterflied in half to try to ook larger, they had sat for so long they were frozen to the ice in the cup and the cocktail sauce was so hot none of us could eat it.
Not one, but 2 waitresses stopped at our table and proceeded to step on my foot. Our waitress, who was so large and barely fit in the aisle was so heavy she bruised my toes. She also whacked my husband in the shoulder and arm with plates of food as she came barreling down the aisle.
There was hair in my husbands food
None of us got a drink refill
I did not get the steak I ordered, yet I paid the higher price for it anyway
The staff was rude, slow, and not knowledgeable at all about the food or the way it's prepared.
I was never even asked how I wanted my steak prepared.
Sad excuse for a steakhouse...I won't be going back.
My boyfriend, his mom, his brother, and myself went here this evening for a Mother's Day dinner. The atmosphere was pleasant and comfortable, and there was no wait time to be seated even though the parking lot was packed. I will say I suffered a bit of a shock though seeing the menu prices, and quite simply, which the food was good, it was not good enough or plentiful enough to justify the high prices. Not by a long shot. Service was good though, and our waitress was friendly and checked on a few times during the meal. Will I go back? Probably not. Just too pricey for my tastes and not enough of anything to make up for that.
Review Source:My Boyfriend and I came to this Black Angus on a whim last monday. He was craving steak and I was craving a pleasant dining experience. We definitely were given both.
We ordered the special they have for two. It is $52 and before you choke on that price, listen to what it comes with. We chose Stuffed Potato skins as our shared appetizer, this was HUGE, each peice was a half of a potato, they were delicious and a great way to kick off our meal. For our individual entree choices we both selected beef. I chose the New York strip cooked to rare, my steak was to perfection and each bite melted in my mouth. He chose the Ribeye was also much to his liking. The deal also included two side each, I chose a garden salad which was beautifully plated and garlic mashed potatos, 100% amazing. He chose a classic caesar and a baked potato both of which were visually appealing and satisfying to eat. to round off our already large meal, included was a dessert to share, we chose a cookie dessert that comes with a ice cream ontop (the name escapes me but can be compared to BJ's Brewery's "Pizookie"). A wonderful end to a great meal with spot on service. We will definetly return, despite the $72 price tag (total of meal + tip, tax and beverages) the evening was exactly what good service and food should be.
Went to Black Angus tonight for MNF, the deals were great and the beer was cheap!
While this all might sound great, the service reminded me of an ex-girlfriend...it seemed to start off great, but tended to go south as the evening transpired.
It seemed as if our server became upset with us the longer we stayed at the bar... I can't say that this unfortunate event will keep us away, but I will keep an eye out for this type of treatment in the future!
We would have probably tipped much better, but since the service got so bad, we were not compelled to tip nearly as well as we otherwise would have...
A group of 25 friends had dinner at Black Angus. Â The service was perfect. Â The food good, Â I wouldn't recommend steamed vegetables or fries. Â If you're lucky, you'll have Edon as your server. Â The guy is a gem! Â He worked hard and went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable.
Review Source:My husband and I recently moved to the Antelope Valley area. We wanted to go someplace nice for our anniversary and decided to go to Black Angus in Lancaster. We had a good experience there. We ordered the Campfire Feast for 2. Everything was very good. The waiter was a little strange. He seemed nervous and was trying to be funny. His apron kept falling off! He gave us each others meals by accident. Overall he was fine though. He didn't completely screw up. The potato skin appetizer was good and our steaks and bacon green beans were tasty. The blue cheese wedge salads were yummy. Dessert was some kind of chocolate brownie cake thing with icecream and that was awesome. I would recommend this restaurant. We were not disappointed.
Review Source:Honestly, I only ended up eating here after having a hard time finding anything different or interesting in the area. I guess it's a California chain, cuz I'd never been to it.
We get there and the waiter is kinda pushy on selling cocktails and other specialty drinks which annoyed me, but when he finally brought my water and my coworkers soda, he had the manager with him and they asked if it was our first visit. I said yes and they offered us a complimentary appetizer. Funnily enough we already had planned on ordering the fried zucchini anyway! NIce!
I ordered the prime rib and it was pretty good. I like the horseradish and the potatoes. I also had the supposedly creamed spinach, which tasted more like spinach with some cheese on top.
Overall the meal was pretty good, the service was so-so. If you're in the mood for a simple chain steakhouse, I'm sure this'll fill your craving.
First, the Lancaster location of Black Angus appears to be going through a renaissance in terms of the improved quality I've seen recently. Â And second, you should be reviewing your local newspaper to see what coupons are being offered by this chain. Â Today we went with friends for lunch on a $37 per couple coupon which included a shared appetizer, entree for each person, and a shared dessert. Â All that food for just $18.50 per person !!! Â And there was enough steak left over for a sandwich tomorrow :) Â They had other amazing coupons in the newspaper also (e.g., $6.99 for entree with drink purchase).
The bad news ---
We went for lunch instead of dinner (dinner begins at 4pm during the week, 3pm on weekends) so we could not order as our sides their creamed spinach which is delicious, but unfortunately it is only available during dinner hours. Â You ask, "Seriously, you order spinach for both of your two allowed sides?" Â Yes, we like it that much.
The good news ---
All four of us ordered the ribeye steak with the specific request that the chef look for well-marbled pieces and prepare it medium rare. Â Although I might get a better grade of beef at Arnie Morton's, nobody could have prepared today's ribeye better. Â It was exactly what we requested, well-marbled, tender and perfectly medium rare. Â The chef deserves accolades for getting it exactly right. Â Served sizzling hot and with the melted butter on top, we all agreed it was YUMMY!!!
When ordering the appetizer, asked my husband which one he wanted to share. Â His answer? Â The same one he used for that question on the dessert choice ... "The most expensive option, of course, so I can really feel I'm getting my money's worth!!!"
I wouldn't normally expect to rate a chain at 4, but the steak and spinach deserved it :)
I have been here several times, and the first two times everything was good, very good actually. But the last time I went it was AWFUL, from the old stale bread my waiter brought, to the cold soup. The service was awful that night too, so I guess it depends on what night you go. The only thing that was good all 3 times was the mud pie, yummyyyyyy!!!
Review Source:This chain has had a downward trend in recent years, but this one in Lancaster is breaking out. I had a filet mignon that was quite good. The servce was prompt and attentive. The scotch and soda was well poured. You must be forewarned to tell them to hold the shredded carrots on the salad. Also, keep that horrid bread away from the table. I like this place only because the steak, although not as good as Maxdon's, is still better than Outback.
Review Source:I have been to this restaurant in Washington State and loved it, but avoid this one! Â We phoned in reservations since it was my birthday, and the fact that we have young kids and wanted to minimize our wait. Â When we arrived at the restaurant, they didn't have our reservation, and we ended up waiting for our table anyway. Â Â I stood there with my five year old and two year old and they asked me three times how many kids' menus I needed. Â They seated us next to the door of the kitchen which is always pleasant. Â We had to tell the greeter that we needed a high chair for the two year old, but instead of getting one, she just left us. Â After waiting ten minutes with a quickly worsening two year old on my wife's lap, we never even had a waiter or waitress stop to help us, so we got up and left. Â When we got to the car we noticed my daughter dropped her favorite doll, so I went back in to get it. Â The manager was at the greeter's station and never even looked at me because he was in such deep conversation with the greeter. Standing there, finally I pushed into their conversation and asked for the doll. He still never looked at me and handed it to me. I walked out never to return. Â We never saw one smile on anyone there; in fact, they were quite rude. Â This was the worst experience in town by far.
