Black Lab Lounge

Our first visit to a local spot. Apparently it was previously owned and operated as an Italian restaurant. They have revamped their menu to feature mainly burger and run specials. I have the ranchero burger. with a side of homemade onion rings. the burger was perfectly cooked a medium rare, topped with bacon, onion ring and bbq sauce. I suggested to the waitress, if they were going to use bottled bbq sauce, then warm it up before putting it on the burger. none the less, it was tasty. the onion rings were beer battered which is always fun, but seriously lacked in flavor and were clumped together. a little love during preparation along with some seasoning would make them perfect. My husband tried the special, beer battered chicken parm. the chicken was tender & moist. the batter was crunchy, but not super thick. surprisingly the tomato sauce was very good.
They don't have any beer on tap and are working on their menu, but all in all, the experience was good. the waitress was very nice and the service was good. the atmosphere needs a little help, but all in all very clean and worth a trip back. I wish them luck and hope they take their client's suggestions in to consideration. they have the makings of being a very good hidden jewel.
