Peg's Diner is cool!! I really love these small time, warm and fuzzy places.4 booths and about 8 seats at the counter is all there is here.Peg herself, is at the flattop makin' everything happen.Had a nice little chat with her and found out she's been doin' this for 37 years!! Wow! People are on a first name basis here and you feel like part of the family before you leave. This is a real jewel of a diner. The prices a very low, and I got out of there after having kielbasa and eggs, home fries, toast and good coffee for under 6 bucks.
Closed on Sundays and Mondays, cash only.
Pegs is definitely a small town place, in the lovely small town of Whitinsville, MA. The menu is limited, but well executed. I had a western omelette with a side of bacon, my coworker had a veggie with sausage. Both were perfectly fine fare. Bacon was crisp, and the sausage was flavorful. We asked for lunch and were told "Anything you want, we've got egg, tuna, and chicken salad...and that's it." Â Luckily for us, there was some meatloaf from last night still kicking around, and we both got a really good sandwich on dark rye bread.
The diner itself was clean, and obviously well-loved. Service was great, tons of local conversation to be overheard. Worth a stop if you are in the area.
