The Black Sheep Ale House

I live in the center of college bars and I must say Black Sheep knocked all these typical bars off the charts.  The bartenders are great, the ambiance is mellow and welcoming.  If you're looking for a bar where you can sit and chit chat about life then this is the place to go.  If you're looking to dance and find love (yes some people actually go to bars for that) then do not even consider trying this place out.  I wasn't a beer fan before, but after a couple of visits to Black Sheep I have acquired a taste for fine beer. They have anything from raspberry to banana and watermelon beer. I'll definitely be back soon. Hope to see you there!

Yeah. Loved this place. Great beer selection. Small hole in the wall feel but clean. Great vibe. Great service. No food other than frozen pizzas and free hotdogs. You can bring food in. The also have a cask ale on tap. Being from Miami, a $6 craft beer is very fair. I'm definitely coming back next week! Can't wait.

This place was downright gross. I came here with a friend on a Saturday night, and since it has pretty good reviews on here I figured it would be safe.  Yet, judging from the crowd outside we were a bit hesitant.  We stayed here for 1 drink and left.  

The place smelled like old spilled beer on a dirty floor in someone's musty basement. It was really gross. The crowd gave me the feeling of walking into a party with a bunch of 21 year old's who just started drinking for the first time. The place seemed dirty to me too, the smell and the air made me feel dirty. I felt like I was in a humid basement. There was a group of girls playing a board game too which was odd and added to the feel of being at someone's teenage, crappy basement party.

The only thing this place had going for it was the sort of lounge like seating area it has in the back.   Some genius in there was keeping the door open which let in all the outside cigarette smoke as well and stunk up the place, which I know isn't the bars fault per say but  I couldn't wait to get out of this place, it was just awful. Obnoxious crowd, bad smells, not my idea of a good time.

Sorry, I'm a pretty fair reviewer and I rarely give very negative reviews but this place just didn't work for me.

My friend says this of the place ... "As far as this reviewer is concerned, it is NOT the cats pajamas. This bar gets 1 paw out of 9"
