I read several of the reviews that "knocked" Black Sheep and decided to make my own decision about this new restaurant to Blue Ridge. I am glad I did! I am thrilled to have a restaurant of this quality in my area - it was needed. The portion sizes are huge and the prices are reasonable. The wine list was 4 pages long with wine I could only get in the Atlanta area for a third of the price. I had baked clams casino as an appetizer and could have eaten 4 more dozen!! They have their own Black Sheep Beer made for them by a local brewery and it was really smooth. My wife had the jumbo lump crab cocktail and couldn't believe how fresh it was. We also had the seafood risotto and salmon - both very fresh. We didn't have any dessert but were offered a pear and apple bread pudding, goat cheese custard and a gluten free choclate cake. Â I did try one of their drink specials it was called Bobbing for Apples and was southern comfort and apple cider on the rocks and they had several other specials from the bar. I do recommend reservations for Friday and Saturday night as it gets very busy. I plan dining there 2 times a month. The wait staff were very professional but very fun. They really work at making your experience a fantastic time. Don't judge this restaurant by other people's poor remarks - You can't please everyone and who would want to try!!!!! PS the snotty remark about the ratty terry cloth napkins shows they didn't understand the concept of the restaurant....The concept is elegant but yet Blue Ridge and around the owner Fanny Butts. The mis-matched silverware and the mason jars along with the (nice) terry cloth towels were fun and made the experience different and memorable.
Review Source:We have been to the Black Sheep almost every week since they opened. It gets better and better. Sure, in the beginning the wait staff needed more training, but the food is fabulous and consistent. We haven't had an item on the menu that wasn't terrific. In fact, we will be there tonight! My biggest fear is that we will call and can't get in for a week.
Review Source:Wow this was a nice little find on our trip to Blue Ridge ! We started off with the tuna nachos and bbq pork belly both were very good , the sauce on the nachos was to die for . For our main coarse we had the penne ala vodka and cowboy cut ribeye . The pasta was good nothing to special but the ribeye was delicious cooked to perfection . This place is a cool little restaurant our teas came out in mason jars and the water in jelly jars . The wait staff were super friendly and very helpful .
