A no frills classic dive bar in the middle of downtown Los Gatos. Â They are famous for their kamikazes and I would recommend them as a drink choice as they are outstanding. Â Not a fancy place or high end decor but for the purpose of having a few drinks and hanging out; there is nothing wrong with this place!
Review Source:Yum Yum! Sometimes you just need a kamikaze or two! As Jessica J. mentioned in her review, the Black Watch is a surprise little dive in the middle of an area you wouldn't expect to see it in. The service is always on point no matter if there are 5 people or 50 people inside. But don't forget to bring cash!
Review Source:As I am from this area, the Black Watch used to be one of our hangouts some years back. Â We recently came in this weekend for a friends Birthday and had to visit our old stomping grounds. Â It is mostly the same, nice divey type bar which has not changed thank goodness.
What we were dissapointed in was the drinks! Â Back in the day, one Kamikaze shot would give you a buzz. Â We each had four one after the other and felt NOTHING, NADA, ZERO. Â How can that be? Â Especially since us old folks don't have nearly the alcohol tolerance that we once posessed? Â My only thought was that we were not regulars and they thought that we would not notice if they watered down the drinks since we most likely wouldn't be back and there was no need to retain our loyalty. Â Since the lime taste was overwhelmingly strong, I am thinking they doubled up on that and left out most of the alcohol although I can't be sure because we didn't watch them make the drinks. Â Considering this is their signature drink, I don't know what to say other than we felt cheated.
VERY disappointed!
