Yum!! The blackberry pancakes were FANTASTIC! we were staying at the nearby Burney Falls campground and needed to go to town for supplies (10 miles). Stopped here for breakfast based on Yelp reviews and we were not disappointed. It's a small town greasy spoon with friendly staff and good food in generous portions. Bathroom could have been cleaner.
Review Source:Me and my dad fish this area yearly and this is one of our usual stops. Â A good solid menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Â It's always got a decent amount of customers, both tourists and locals. Â This last visit I had a cob salad and later a omelet. Â Both were good. Â My dad had some pie (which is freshly made on premises) and a big pancake breakfast. Â We will be stopping in again soon I hope!
Review Source:Feeding 3 hungry boy's for breakfast is not easy, but the blackberry patch made it look easy! Recommend the lumberjack plate. It's got everything a teenage boy needs to get his day going and the prices were affordable! Went the day after Thanksgiving and the service was great too! Thanks!
Review Source:Great prices, large selection.  Dinner was chicken friend steak,  the cutlet should have been thicker, but the home made sausage gravy was great!  Veggies were frozen but ok and garlic toast was good.  Talipia was wonderful and the hamburger was the best.  Next day for breakfast, blackberry french toast.. yummy! Eggs, sausage and bacon...done perfectly  Everyone happy again.. Service was prompt and friendly, Discounts give without asking!! Prices were reasonable.  We would come back.
Review Source:Was hopeful for a better experience...But it wasn't. Â Sweet potato pancakes & coffee were good, but it took 45 minutes to get our food....cold...only after we expressed concern that a table who had ordered 10-15 min after us had already gotten their food. Â Explanation? "Their food was already pre-made." Cleanliness also left something to be desired & service overall was very poor.
Review Source:Labor Day weekend (Sunday) evening. Many places closed. Came here for breakfast which was good. Dinner is another story. Pot roast was good. Fried chicken (frozen, not fresh) was good. Hot turkey open-face sandwich was poor. Sliced deli turkey on white bread with canned turkey gravy & instant mashed potatoes. Did have a small cup of cranberry sauce which gave the dish a little color. Was a WT dish.
On the other hand, our server, Tiffany, was wonderful!! After working all day, she was still energetic, cheerful, and very efficient. She made the dinner worth it & is why I gave 2 stars.
Had breakfast on our way home from vacation in Burney area. The food itself was good and what I would expect for a diner like this one. However, we had to wait over an hour for our food (they seemed to have lost the order). When asked about our order, the server checked and said it would be right out. I think that is when they found it. Also, when we finally received our food , it was somebody elses order. I think I will try Chatty Cathy's next time based the reviews.
Review Source:We stayed in Burney last week and visited the Blackberry for breakfast. Â I had the rib eye steak and eggs while my grandmother had some toast and coffee. The steak was done a perfectly requested medium rare and looked larger than the menu suggested size. The eggs, hash browns and toast were just to my liking also. I did have to get the hot chocolate, which had a nice big dollop of whip cream on top.
The topper was they were also making food for their catering truck. I wish the catering trucks that came to my jobs had this type of food.
Service was ok, nothing special but just basic unless you were a regular then the conversation was better for familiar faces.
I would have given it 5 stars except that has to go the other spot in town, Chatty Cathy's.
Cute little restaurant with limited seating. Denny's type menu. Don't expect four star dining here but if you are hungry they give you enough food to choke a horse! Average tasting, but again the portions are HUGE! Seems to be a meeting place for local old people to gossip. The service was good and prices WAY reasonable. We had a party of six and the bill was under $50. I would go back again but nothing to write home about.
Review Source:We went here two of the three mornings we were in town and had the same great experience both times. Â Very friendly staff! Â My husband doesn't really coffee so much, so he ordered some juice and our waitress commented that he looked like a hot cocoa type. Â That's all he had to hear and he ordered up a cocoa with lots of whipped cream. Â
The food both days was good breakfast food. Â Big portions. Â My coffee cup was never empty. Â We'll go again the next time we are up!
On the long drive from Lakehead, CA to Burney, CA (We wanted to visit Burney Falls) we started to want a Starbucks Frappawhatzit but couldn't find a Starbucks. I started to feel like a yuppie POS, the type I complain about who drive around in their fancy cars on their cell phones and whine they can't find a Starbucks. I'm a small town girl and when I caught this type of thinking from myself I felt pretty crappy.. SOOO I started looking for a local diner or coffee shop. The Blackberry Patch caught my eye so we stopped.
We were immediately greeted by a refreshingly friendly hostess and seated by a window. The sun was pretty bright so she offered to have the shades lowered. We agreed and a few moments later I saw a gentleman outside with a metal device turning down the shades. Excellent!
We ordered coffee and they had pies advertised on the door so we each ordered a slice of that too. When we asked what kinds they had WOW she rattled off like 15 different flavors until I finally stopped her because she had gone past the ones we wanted and no point making her list off all 100 pie flavors they had. OK maybe not 100 but they even had Strawberry Rhubarb.
The coffee was pretty good, definitely Farmer Brothers, but it had been on the burner a while and wasn't fresh :-( still decent. My Pecan Pie MMM!! Great! I only wish I had not ordered it with vanilla ice cream because I couldn't taste the full yummy goodness of the pie through it. The handsome man ordered Blackberry sadly it wasn't really that great. We didn't realize they had a "Pie and Coffee Special" You get both for $2.99 so we got out of there pretty inexpensively. I would go back nightly for the coffee & pie special if I lived near Burney!
Oh.. and I agree with C.S. the water here is much better than us "flat landers" can get be sure to give it a taste :-)
Service - **** (Four Stars)
Pecan Pie - **** (Four Stars)
Blackberry Pie - ** (Two Stars)
Cleanliness - *** (Three Stars) The floor was dirty but not to bad definitely acceptable in a place were most people likely have dirt driveways and not all "sidewalks" are paved. The bathroom smelled musty, like it could use a good dose of bleach to kill the mold and mildew hiding in the corners. HOWEVER the tables were clean.
