I live in Redding and have spent quite a lot of money at Bleachers.  About three weeks ago several of my friends and I were having food and drink.  We all put money in and I put in my credit card, stating put the balance on my card.  The server put most of the bill on my card, thereby giving herself a hefty tip.  We had already included a hefty tip.  I didn't realize the error until the next day.  When  I spoke to management they stood by their server.  My credit card company stood by me.

So I gave them a second chance this evening.  Met a friend there.  Almost no one in the place.  We received our drinks.  The Server took our food order which was on the Wednesday night special menu.  30 minutes later we flagged our server, he said our food would be right out.  By the time we got it I was walking out and told him to keep it.  When the owner was advised she became confrontational and said, "fine, I'll eat it myself".  If you've met her you'll realize she would.  Very rude.  What happened to customer service.

DON'T GO THERE.  I'M FACEBOOKING THIS TO ALL MY 1500 BUSINESS ASSOCIATES AND FRIENDS.  There are many other establishments that would love to have our business.

Not open for the first round of March Madness games??? A sports bar? Really?

OK, I give it a 2 because of lack of choices.  We love, I mean LOVE sports bars but every time we go in it takes us a few months to get the courage to go back.  The service is horrible at the tables.  We have had good service at the bar but the tables leave you be even if you want to order more beer and food.  I feel so bad for all of us Redding people.

The food quality is not consistent.  We have had good burgers here but we have had bad everything else.  We love Buffalo Wild Wings and I would love to see them come in and take over Redding. I wish they would get there collective crap together so we could have a decent place to go for football.  They do a good job of spreading the games over several TVs but they leave multiple volumes up so there is too much competition.  Figure out the main event and everything else goes to picture only.

Seems like a good place to watch sports. Food is horrible and the in attentive service was just as bad. Every thing I ordered came out differently then what I had asked for.

Stick to just being a Bar! This was my familys second time at Bleachers in 2 years. Now I know why we had not gone back. Where to begin. Servers ok, feel bad for them trying to serve the junk they call food. I did not know  you could actually make nachos with Cheese Wiz? It had to be! Cold, clumpy chili from a can. Boneless hot wings, were obviously a microwaved soggy nightmare. Chicken sandiwch, on the menu it says grilled chicken, then shouldn't you grill it. Pretty sure it was the frozen kind you can buy in the store with the grill marks already on it. Think they nuked that one too, or possibly dropped it in some boiling water because it was like Rubber.
So  after only eating french fries (they were ok) we left, still very hungry and out 36.00 bucks.  So I recommend to Bleachers just be a Bar!  Only serve chips and salsa. Kinda hard to mess that up. I work at a neighboring hotel and will never ever recommend this place to any of my guests.

Can I give this place a negative star rating?!? Worst service/management EVER! Will not be back. The manager was there, we spoke with her and she is obviously part of the problem. Wrong items/drinks brought when you finally get service, very unfriendly staff and understaffed at the bar on an event night. My fiance is a manager for a local mexican restaurant and he recognized one of the waitresses at Bleachers as a customer that has previously skipped out of his restaurant without paying her two drink and food bill. Nice!!!
When one if the waitresses was rude a final time, we left. This place obviously is trying to cater to a crowd that that doesn't care anything about service or class.

What can I say about this place? I go there, but why?

Pros: Beer and food specials. But I'm not really recommending the food either, don't expect much. Pretty servers. I repeat: Beer specials.

Cons: Clueless pretty servers. Been here twenty times and never ever felt like I could get any sense of service from these people. This place doesn't understand what a bartending and waitressing is supposed to be about. There is a way to do it, folks, it's called SERVICE, it's called making the customer satisfied.

Atmosphere is decent and clean, unfortunately conflicting sounds of two different sports events is not good even in a sports bar (unless people are actively listening to both).

First thing first!!! Sports bars are sports bars. I don't want to watch the discovery channel at a sports bar. Second!! Thirteen Budweiser reps getting drunk while two L.A - 2's (I'm being nice) hand out dollar off coupons not cool. Food was ok, service was average. All &all, their Patty Melt was decent and beer was cold.

I had no idea that a bar could be this bad! This place is like TGIFriday's meets a bar, aside from actually having good drinks or food. It is like the "Office Space" esque bar that you know you hate as soon as you walk in but you think having a drink will make it better. WRONG! So wrong. They actually do a measured pour for their shots and the drink I ordered appeared and tasted to be completely juice. I was told to ask the person who made my drink to see if anything could be done to make it actually taste like it had alcohol in it. I did just that and the snide, arrogant jerk told me that he could charge me another $4.29 for another shot of alcohol to be added to it. I can go elsewhere and order a better drink entirely for 4 dollars and be a cooler bar with better people who aren't redneck asshats drinking Bud-Light. I did have a case of the Mondays after going to this place! NEVER again! This is the worst bar in Redding, if not anywhere.

I hate sports with a fiery passion.  So that has skewed my star rating above.  And, yes, I hear you now...if I hate sports, why would I even BOTHER going to a sports bar?  Well, I will tell you why - the food.  If this were just a food rating, we would be at 4 stars.  And if you can endure dozens of flat screens blaring the score to every single game possibly on at that moment, middle-aged men with beer guts and rabid sports fanatics in backwards hats, then get thee to Bleachers immediately and get real fat.  Better wear those nifty track pants you bought years ago and have never actually exercised in.  They will help hide the 5 pounds and nacho cheese smears you gain while eating here.  Hey, look, finally a reason to justify paying $60 for them!

But, I digress.  On to the food.  I am a real fan of bar food for some reason, but some of it is so bad you have to be drunk, or a little tipsy at the very least, to eat it.  Not so at this joint, I come here often just to eat the food.  I mean, don't get me wrong, I order a beer or a Jameson or three also, but the food is the REASON I came.  Hrmph.  Don't judge me.  The star item they offer here, in my opinion, is the Bleu Cheese Sticks.  Are you guys kidding me?  These things are so amazing I do not even know what to say.  A twist on the delicious but garden variety mozzarella stick, these bad boys are bleu cheese and Monterey jack, dipped in buffalo sauce (yes, you heard that right) and then rolled in beer batter and fried.  The Irish Nachos are typical nacho toppings (cheese, sour cream, tomatoes, jalapenos, and chili I believe even though I ordered it without) on a bed of crisscut fries.  Or try the Rocket Rolls, awesome chicken Tex Mex eggrolls.  If you are a pickle lover, they offer deep fried pickle spears.  That is just the tip of the iceberg for their menu, go check it out!  If you need help swallowing the sports theme, go get some wine at Uncorked first and get all buzzy then walk across the parking lot and gorge your gullet with trans fats and cheese.  That is how I do.

Should be one star but you get two stars because the lack of choices for places to watch football. Sometimes there are under 21 people that wanna join. This place needs to be 18 and UP especially on football days. To start my insults. I could not stand the fact that the server dismissed our table after realizing we were not drinking alcohol. You get better service at most fast food joints and the same quality food at half the price. If the server would have realized after I said "I am going to start with this appetizer "maybe she would have got a better tip and was going to order more, but after her ignoring our table and acting like she hated her job I didn't want to eat anymore. I am ashamed to say this is the best place to watch the game in Redding. Next time ill take the drive to Win River for the game or just eat before hand and watch it at the Rusty Nail.
BLEACHERS needs a professional to organize there tables so you can actually watch the games and new serves. I have given this place a few chances but this will be my last visit!
Anyone should be great full for a job in this economy and I usually tip big but with this service I gave my minimum of 15%. AVOID this place if possible!
The buss boys and bar backs are more helpful and friendly then the waitstaff are.

The food is weak, maybe passing as carls jr or some fast food place served on a plate. The service was looong and made mistakes on the order...my favorite tho is the drunken "owners". They make the place such a sad and pathetic site, from the children allowed into a sports pub, to them actually yelling and arguing at one another, to the embarassment of there patrons. These winners, start drinking from when they wake up, and if not, they smell and act like it. They scream at employees, drive after being smashed all day long, and in general, drive away there customer base with poor floor plan layout, horrible management, and petty arguing amongst themselves infront of customers. Its like a hooters, minus the hot girls, add rude waitress and remove awesome wings. Im going to buy you out super cheap when u close due to bankruptcy and show you how you really run a sports bar.

Contrary to the previous reviews, my guy and I went on Saturday night. It was great. We came in and it was completely packed. And karaoke night. We walked in a little before 9pm, when it closes to minors, and we found a semi quiet little table in the back by the pool tables. The music and singers weren't as loud, which was nice. Alot of good singers and good food. Our waitress came to our table quite often, which I really liked. Didn't drink but we could see that patrons that were, were served within a couple minutes of ordering their drinks. Definitely a great experience. Loved our waitress too. Friendly, funny, and so sweet. Always ready to hit Bleachers.

Seriously!  I LOVE SPORTS!  I was so anticipating a sports bar in Redding that wasn't a little seedy and actually had some nice TVs.

PROS:  Lots of Televisions, which is a prerequisite if you are going to call yourself a sports bar!

CONS:  Let me count the ways:
    1) Food is average at best.  I had the wings and they were the worst I've ever had.  I had the burger and it was pretty good.

    2) Layout: at first glance, it looks awesome.  There are televisions everywhere and they have these two giant movie screens.  Now try to find a seat so you can see one of the big screens.  I counted.  In a bar that seats roughly 200 people, less than 50 can see the big screens from their chars without craning their neck.  BUT NO...THERE'S MORE!  They put pool tables in front of the televisions, so if someone wants to play pool, you can guarantee they are going to walk right in front of you when you need to see the big shot/score/goal/etc.

    3) Service:  OMG....they cannot be this dense!  Yelp, Google, Urban Spoon all give them horrible comments for service, yet it is STILL HORRIBLE.  They never come by your table.  They don't really want to get you food.  They only want to serve alcohol

    4) Management:  I would have to say that this is the best example of a great idea poorly executed.  Despite all of their shortcomings, they continue to milk their sweet Hotel-adjacent location.  I called there again tonight and asked to see if the banquet room was available.  They lady said that it wasn't her job and that the two ladies who run that weren't there right now.  WHAT?  How hard is it to keep a book with names and reservations in it?

I went into Bleachers when they first opened and chalked up my bad experience to "working out the kinks!"  Here we are, more than a year later and they still have the same problems that they have always had.

PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE!  Somebody open up a sports bar with televisions you can see, servers who pay attention to you, and food that is worth the prices.  I'm dying for the real deal!

Finding the perfect bar for the daytime crowd the Starker club of Redding(S.C.O.R.) went out one Monday to find the place that has the perfect bartender and great ambiance. Upon entering Bleachers we thought we were there. Great bar and open with a lot of TVs we were happy to be greeted by our hostess with a smile and happy for us to be there. The happiness we had ended there. We were never visited again by our bartender until she noticed we needed another beer. Being distracted by issues with the register from the previous bartender we felt ignored and never were able to talk and and get her full attention. Bleachers has promise but you got to get some ambiance and have your bartenders talk to their customers. Sorry to say this is a one and a half beer out of a six pack!!!!!

love the place. i go there regularly for hot wings. im not a big sports fan but i like that there is always something going on, ya know? I love the Sierra Nevada seasonals on tap. the owners are cool and and the overall environment is pretty comfy. on some days when its really busy  the service suffers but its understandable thats just the way the restaurant business is. bleachers has only been open for close to 3 years but has already formed a fallowing of locals whom show up at least once a week every week. i hope bleachers stays in business for years to come.

I had a "white gummy bear"...I couldn't taste the alcohol at all but, I felt it.

All I remember is waking up the next morning.

Yup, still zero tolerance for alcohol. But, the drink was like $5, which isn't all that bad!

If you are looking for a good place to watch any sporting event, have a good cheap meal, then this your place.  I have been to Bleachers numerous times and have (80%+ of the times) had a great experience.
I have always gotten to watch any game I have wanted to see.  If it was full or empty it is easy to find a waiter if you catch their attention.  It's a bar and grill, not a restaurant so you will have to hunt down service from time to time.

Foods (burgers, fries, mozzarella sticks, etc.) are all great game time foods and prepared very well.

Service has been their rough point, but like I said it is not a restaurant so hunt down the service and you will get great service.

Not a place to go for a quick meal!!!

Wild Wednesdays are great for a cheap meal and cheap drinks.  Bring your friends and expect a packed house, but a cheap good meal!

I've started going here recently because the happy hour is a great deal and there are lots of TV's!  I've been there about 6 times now.   I haven't had problems with service except for the last time we went and it was a super busy night for play offs.  No excuse for the server to stop showing up after dropping off our orders, but I get it.

All the other times the service has been average and maybe better depending on how busy it is.  The best service was with Crystal? I think.  We had a large and rowdy group in the little corner room.  She was GREAT.  She always showed up when you looked for her.  She kept the drinks coming, didn't mess up any of our orders, and even conversed with us while doing her job.  Imagine a server with personality AND who can multi task!

Food is typical bar food but the drinks are good, especially at happy hour prices.  3 stars for the business and a 4th for Crystal.

For starters the waitress walked by our table 2 or 3 times and never once greeted us.  Had to wait 20 minutes before a waitress actually came to our table.

I was not impressed by the food.  I mean I have had worse but I have definitely had better.  I had a burger and we tried their hot wings.

I did like the setup with the pool tables and tvs and whatnot, but unless your looking for concession stand food or just to watch a game then I wouldn't recommend this place

Been there several times. Love the burgers. BUT... everybody complaining about service is right on. Went last week, waited 15 minutes to get a waiter. Waited 20 minutes to get THE WRONG FOOD.  Scraped off the parts I didn't want, ate it, and left.  To his credit, the waiter didn't charge me... but seriously?

Could be a great place... maybe the management could introduce some positive changes to the service?  Love the food. Love the TV's. Love the ambience. Fix the service, and you'll have a great place.

the service, as reported by others, really slow.  i went here to watch world cup, and was totally fine with that at first.  i really only ordered something so that i could continue to sit there and watch the game.
it was probably upwards of 20 minutes before anyone offered us a drink or a menu despite the fact that there appeared to be plenty of people working - including a boy that looked like he was 12 years old.  (um, i know Redding is not the bay area, but I believe there are still child labor laws?)...

what really inspired me to write this review though, is the fact that i was sitting right next to the kitchen doors. and i saw a server bring a couple plates of food back in to the kitchen and say "hey, can you guys reuse this stuff?  i had a walkout - they said it was too slow"  now i am totally against wasting food - but i also am against being served food that has already been served to someone else and been subject to who knows what... eew.

Well I usually never leave BAD reviews but when you sit there for 30 minutes without a single "hello, how can I help you" from anyone (including the waitress, the bartender or the manager) what else can you do?

It's not like I was hiding under the table but I am a very patient person; I will NOT go looking for a server...that's not my job. I'll walk out and go next door...

Last night we made a last minute trip to Redding to run some plans off at Kinko's and talk them over with a client.  Originally we were going to meet at CR Gibbs but they closed at 8pm.  So the "client" suggests we meet at Bleachers across the street.  To be honest, I probably would have never, everrrrrr stepped foot in there if it wasn't for this meeting.  It's a sports bar for goodness gracious (yuck)!

My first impression of Bleachers was "this place is HUGE"!.  It's very open with flat screens everywhere.  If you're the type to hang out with a bunch of friends and watch a game, this is the perfect place.  They also have a killer happy hour, which I will be back for.  For food, the menu is full of bar food and sandwiches,  Deep fried jalapeno coins, poppers, pickles...and Gutter Fries which I'm very curious about.  Last night they were running $2 pints and $5 Irish car bombs and some meat sandwich thingy.

Bleachers is going to do just fine in Redding.  Check it out.

Redding didn't have a legit sports bar until Bleachers opened up not too long ago.  I checked it out last night with some friends on the occasion of the NCAA college football so-called championship game between Oklahoma and Florida.  I'm going to admit right up front that I didn't like the outcome of the game because I think Florida QB Tim Tebow is an outrageous attention whore/freako-scary religious zealot, and Florida's win may have colored my views of Bleachers somewhat.

    Bleachers sucks out loud.

Okay, not really.  Florida QB Tim Tebow sucks out loud, but Bleachers isn't a bad sports bar as sports bars go.  It's got plenty of seating, lots of flat-screen TVs, pool tables, dart boards, a big selection of beers on tap (including a nice IPA), and rumor has it, food.

Pretty much what you're looking for in a sports bar.

But I can't vouch for the food, because over the course of the last three quarters of the game (I arrived late), our waiter visited our table just twice, and never asked if I wanted to order anything to eat.  The service was lame.

Fifteen yard penalty for delay of gustation, Bleachers.
