I really like this place! So much, that my husband and I have eaten there three times in the last two weeks. The service is good and the food hasn't disappointed us yet.
Our first time at Blu Fig, we started out with their Tuna app and Zucchini chips. The tuna is seared and served with diced olives and tomatoes. The generous serving of zucchini chips is served with tzatziki sauce. Both were very good and inexpensive. For my entree, I ordered the Chicken Ciabatta sandwich. It has diced grilled chicken, tomatoes, mozzarella and pesto. They toast the bread with the cheese on it, . The sandwich is served with a side salad with balsamic vinaigrette. My husband ordered the Chicken Parmesan entree. It's served with spaghetti with marinara sauce. You get a very generous serving, so it can easily feed two people. The chicken was tender, the mozzarella was delicious, but the marinara was just okay.
On our second visit we brought my brother-in-law and a friend. We ordered the Tuna app again, Calamari, Vodka pizza and their Grilled Chicken pasta dish. Everything was very good. The Calamari hit the spot, since I had been craving it for some time. The family size Vodka pizza was big enough for three of us to share along with the apps. My brother-in-law ordered the pasta and he really liked it.
Our third visit was a takeout order. We ordered three of the Chicken Ciabatta sandwiches and now my in-laws are hooked. I'm so glad we found this place so close to home. I highly recommend it if you're in the area.
I've been to both the Stony Point and New City locations - both are great.
The food comes out fast, and it's on the cheaper side, but it is in no way fast food.
Mediterranean inspired dishes are the main idea of this place, although for the entrees it seems they branch out into other areas. I've ordered a few different salads here (my favorite is the strawberry one), and my favorite thing to order is a bunch of appetizers, since those seem to be the most Mediterranean - baked eggplant with feta, spanakopita, etc.
Everything is tasty and it won't make a huge dent in your wallet. Nothing outright wows me enough to give it 4 or 5 stars (I reserve those for truly incredible meals) but everything that I have ordered is yummy. BYOB.
Definitely have their Margarita brick oven pizza- lots of flavor and delicious, not the same as an ordinary pizza but it is well worth it for only $10. I find it Rockland County doesn't have the best pizzas but this comes close to getting something decent. All the food here is fresh and light.
Review Source:Came in for an early dinner and the floor was filthy. Â There were rice and ickies all over the place. Â One of my pet peeves is a dirty dining room because I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like. Â Too bad because it is pretty chic. Wasn't super impressed by anything we ordered, but the baby eggplant was tasty. Â Vodka pizza had very little pancetta and basil so it was pretty one-note. Â Not a fig on the menu, I'm afraid. For small plates, the portions are generous. Â The linguine and clams was also very reasonable for the amount. Â Although it's not very helpful when you have a small appetite.
Review Source:I love the Vodka Pizza and all the food in general at Blu Fig. The wait staff is always super friendly, quick to take your order, and very knowledgablle about there offerings. I love to both eat in or take out food from Blu Fig, it makes it a very versitile option. I hightly suggest Blu Fig to everyone, they're prices are super reasonable and food always excellent.
Review Source:I absolutely love this place! I usually get the Imam Bayaldi appetizer (baby eggplant topped with caramelized onions and feta cheese) and the Strawberry Chicken salad. Both are delicious and consistently good.
At Blu Fig, lunchtime is until 4pm and you order at the front counter and choose which table you'd like to sit at. After 4, it's table service. Â
Enjoy!
I went here the other day for lunch with my friend and I got a really good pulled pork sandwich. My friend got a salad, which she seemed to really enjoy as well. The service was speedy and the prices were really affordable. Paying was simple since you pay when you order at the front counter, then you choose the table you want to sit at (not sure if this is different for dinner and if someone greets/seats you).
I've also been to the New City location, where I've tried their brick oven pizza, which is really good.
