Hogan's is a small casual diner-type place on 9W. I say 'diner-type' because it has a much more 'homey' feel to it. It's not as loud as most diners.
We were going to Stony Point park and wanted a breakfast place close by. We found it pretty easily and there is plenty of parking. The hostess was friendly and after a very short wait (under 5 minutes) we were seated at a table, and we did not wait long before a waiter appeared to take our drink orders. No coffee for us on this trip, however we did notice the servers walked around several times offering refills. A major plus in my book!
Our food arrived pretty fast considering how packed the place was- we might have waited about 10 minutes? Both plates were filled with piping hot breakfasts. My Hogan's omelette was good and served with a very generous portion of awesome fries. I love home fries- they are my favorite breakfast food- so I tend to judge breakfast based on the potatoes, LOL. My boyfriend judges by the pancakes, so he had the breakfast that includes pancakes, sausage, home fries and eggs (I can't remember what it was called). We sampled a good variety of their version of breakfast staples, and all were fantastic!
The prices were reasonable. The diner itself had a warm, cozy and familiar feel to it and was clean compared to other diners. The bathrooms were very clean- a rarity for some reason in breakfast joints (why?). Noise level was slightly quieter than a typical diner.
If you're in the Stony Point area, Hogan's is definitely worth a visit!
This is not your ordinary diner food, the place is more of a high quality restaurant but with the feel of a diner. I wouldn't dare to order dishes like chicken parm, penne vodka, chicken francise at a regular diner but at hogans you can order these dishes, you can order anything from breakfast, burgers to more of a higher quality dish. We love this place, everything is great. Danny the owner is always around and such a great person. I personally love to order the specials the food is amazing NOT REGULAR DINER FOOD. Portions and prices are a plus too, this place is always packed.
