Been here twice and still not impressed.  Service is great but the food has no really flavor.  Kind of disappointed as there are NO good Mexican places around.  Oh well, my search is still on.

this place sucks. i remember when it first opened the place was great the people were very friendly. the food was great. i left on vacation and when i came back i went for dinner. all new people no one seem happy to be there working. the taste of the food changed and sucks really bad. theres all new people expect for one. i tried talking to the management about this and he didnt understand me he couldnt even talk to me. my worst experience was 2 weeks. the manager was my waiter and he was so bad. i will never go back. he got our drinks then he never came back for our order. last week i went with my family and my mom showed him that womens restroom had no toilet paper no hand towels and that one bathroom stall was broke for weeks. instead of saying ok im sorry ill get the paper he started to argue with my mother. oh and the food takes foooooorrrrreeevvveeerrr (forever) to come to the table

It was just one of those days when I was off work and wanted to eat a good Mexican meal. I was impressed by the decor and size of the restaurant. The location is great, right near Abercrombie & Fitch. They probably get a lot of business from the people who work there. The place looked clean and rather classy. There were plenty of tables and no crowd. The bar is small but looks comfy, with a TV. Our server was not very attentive or warm. She didn't bring any water refills until I asked after he had dropped the check. Her face showed visible displeasure when we showed her the coupon we wanted to use. What saved the experience is that the cooks did a wonderful job of preparing the tacos Barbados. Grilled corn tortilas with juicy barbecues shredded beef. They were delicious. The chicken fajitas were also well prepared. The chicken was moist and juicy but there wasn't a whole lot of extra butter left over after cooking. The veggies were still crisp. I'd visit again, hoping for a different server.

We arrived at the restaurant for lunch and there was only one other couple eating in the restaurant.  We should have turned around then.  We stood at the front waiting for someone to seat us.  Eventually we were seated.  Our waiter was very rude and barely spoke to us.  He acted annoyed whenever we would ask for anything. He never came back to check on us after our food came.  Our meals were actually fairly good, however we all had fajitas and they were served with no toppings.  we did finally get our server to bring us some guacamole and sour cream, however we didn't get any pico, lettuce or cheese.  It was a horrible experience and we will not be returning.

This restaurant has a great menu that is a little more upscale than many local Mexican restaurants. The service is fast and very friendly. I think it struggles because of the other Mexican restaurants in this location that have failed, but this place is worth a shot!

Read an article about Blue Agave in a local newspaper and it sounded like finally New Albany was going to get a good Mexican restaurant....wrong.

Went on a Saturday night during prime dinner hours and it was only a third full.  We should have taken that as a sign but we were in a hurry and just happy that there was no line of people waiting for a table.   So getting a table was no problem...the problem was the table was sticky and dirty.  In fact, the overall cleanliness and feel of the place was pretty poor.  Handwritten "Please Wait to Be Seated" on other signs scrawled on printer paper with Sharpies isn't very welcoming.

The wait staff was attentive and friendly but not very knowledgable about the menu.  The chips and salsa brought to the table were really good, so were the drinks.  Those alone almost earn Blue Agave a second star because I would not be opposed to going back...but only for drinks and chips.

The food was out quick...real quick...always a bad sign.  In our group someone ordered fish tacos.  What they got was a plate with three tacos that consisted of nothing but pan seared fish.  No lettuce, no tomatoes, no cabbage, no salsa, no cilantro...nothing.  Not even a lime wedge.  Just a chipotle mayo sauce, some tired rice and some uninspired refried beans on the side.  The fish was described as unseasoned and very fishy tasting.  No one else cared for or finished their meals either.  Everything was greasy, cheesy, fried and plates lacked any hint of color or freshness.  The food was worse than the worst casual Mexican chain restaurants.  We were really disappointed and cannot see this establishment lasting more than 6 months in a city where people eat like they give a damn.

Hopefully the next Mexican restaurant at this location comes in with budget to update the tired decor and a fresh menu.

The guacamole was made right in front of you. It was very good. I forgot what I ordered but it had chicken and pineapples. It was soooo yummy!

I can honestly say all I had was take out soft tacos, but they were REALLY good. Simple yet spicy and rather large. I am looking forward to taking more time to enjoy a sit down meal. The chips were great and the red and green salsas were fresh and yummy. It took a total of 5 minutes for me to make a take out order, pay and leave with food in hand. I like the way they prepared the food for the journey home. Tin foil container with a foil bottomed lid. Perfecto! I'll be back for more.

Enjoyed a wonderful meal at Blue Agave with my wife and 2 young kids.  The guacamole is made fresh at the table with ingredients of your choice and my 2 year old loved it!  The three salsas given with the chips are a wonderful change of pace and that was my wife's favorite part.  I had the fajitas which were on par and I'm not sure what the name of my wife's dish was but I thought it was very good too.  Service, food, and atmosphere were all excellent! thank you for putting a new and different Mexican choice close to home.

The third incarnation of a Mexican restaurant at this location and by far the worst.  It was very crowded when we went in so obviously people like it but I'm convinced that if you like Mexican food in Columbus, you may be loco in the cabeza.

I got the enchiladas supreme with 4 enchiladas (chicken, cheese, beef and bean) with a mixed salad as my only side so I figured they had to be pretty big if they think you can only fit in a salad after eating them.  He got some chicken dish to make tacos from.  They brought the food in lightning speed which is a red flag for us.  That usually means pre-made.  The enchiladas were appetizer size and they put the mixed salad "side" on TOP of the enchiladas!!!  Uh, thanks a lot!  So I scraped the wilted salad off of the enchiladas and tried each one.  The cheese was standard and the best of the four.  The bean was HORRIBLE.  It tasted like they dumped a ton of cinnamon in them and that was just awful.  The hubby didn't like it either and said the beef tasted the same way and I agreed so neither of those enchiladas got eaten.  The chicken enchilada was dry and relatively tasteless but I ate it anyway because I was hungry.  The hubby said his chicken dish was dry on its own but with all of the toppings to make the soft tacos, it helped make up for it but said he wouldn't need to go back again.  We weren't overly thrilled with the server either as he always seemed to have somewhere more important to be and we both got the feeling he was a supervisor or manager.  I give this place a year like the others.  I think we've officially given up on Mexican food in C-bus.
