  We have been a few times to the Blue Ox and they always seem to have really good bands in.  The atmosphere is fun and upbeat.  It is a great place to hang out, listen to music and have fun with friends.

  Brainerd's quintessential live rock bar. Weekdays are a bit tame, okay, a lot tame. Gone are the days of 7 day a week live music and packed bars. But the bartenders are more than happy to keep you company on a monday through thursday. Weekends this is still usually the only place to go for live rock. The bar is dark and mainly lit by the glow of neon, as God intended it. Drinks are reasonable for price and the staff is great in the fashion of men who take crap from no one and will gladly do whatever shot you put in front of them, old school. The Flaming Al is still served, Michael is right about you needing to try one, and he's also right about the bathroom, although ladies, I hear yours is quite nice, so no need to worry on that score.

  The only live music venue in Brainerd that features rock and alternative bands currently, the Blue Ox bar is a must see joint on a weekend.
  
  The mens room is smaller than your average refrigerator and generally smells worse that your old gym locker. 1 stall, 2 urinals and a sink mean there's no waiting though!
  
  Loud, fun, dark and dirty, the Blue Ox is a good place to wash away your sorrows. If you are daring, ask for a "Flaming Al" at the bar.
