Pretty awesome food for a bar by the beach. Yummy mahi mahi burgers. Drinks were well made, strong and perfect all around. I love that the waiter made sure we were taken care of before the 12 top they just got.
And just a really great bar on the beach really. I would recommend to a good friend for a causal lunch after a morning laying on the beach.
While the decor is nice, that is about all that is nice in this place. Â The staff is not at all friendly, and just don't look clean. The crowd is not a good one, I really wouldn't waste my time, nor is the food. Not to mention you can only get beer and wine, where is the fun in that?! Â I definitely won't be back.
Review Source:Walked in on a Sunday afternoon and the place was packed. Â They had a live band and crowded second floor, but the first floor had plenty of empty seats. Â The bartender yelled at us to seat ourselves. Â The waitress came quickly and took our orders. Â Everything good stops there.
After 40 minutes the waitress came back and I asked how much longer for the food. Â She went to the kitchen to ask. Â The answer, "It's going to be a while longer." Â We walked out.
Probably wouldn't have been that upset except they were pushing out appetizers to people who'd ordered 20-30 minutes after us. Â
Never going back.
Another stop on Mardi Gras Bar Crawl - and another disappointment. Bartenders were just lacking in experience. Ordered a frozen margarita and it was more lemonade on shaved ice then a real drink. Friend ordered a Hurricane and it was the nastiest sugary mess. It actually have a black cherry/licorice test. Something like Robitussin! After the horrible drinks were served we asked how long was the wait on our food. 45 minutes after waiting 10 minutes for the drinks. We said cancel the food and give us the checks. Might try this again once the weather warms but that's doubtful.
Review Source:Went there to use a Groupon that had expired 2 days prior knowing we would get at least the face value and if our server or the manager were cool, they might still honor it. No dice. Ordered a Mojito - tasted mostly like Sprite and was garnished with a mint leaf that had turned black. Even the lemons and limes in the other drinks were past retirement age. Ahi appetizer tasted good, but was cut into such big chunks I couldn't eat the middle parts. Might be me, but I'm used to my Ahi appetizers sliced fairly thin. Lettuce wraps were good. I had curry shrimp and fries. Very tasty. Wife had fish tacos, no so tasty and sparsely populated. Mixed experience.
Review Source:great place to go even in January. Â Went there last night with three other blokes. Â I was hesitant at first then saw how their place was setup. Â Get there early and sit outside to watch sunset! Â Jerk chicken entree was just right amount with rice. Â
glad the also had a groupon! Â Groupon made it possible for me to take my friends despite having allot of drinks.
I was trying this place for the first time, it is in the old Jamrock building. Â The menu had a few good looking options, when we put in our order, chicken tenders and a chicken sandwich, our food took a ridiculously long time to come out. Â I could understand if these were complicated items, but to wait 45 minutes for chicken tenders and a chicken sandwich is unbelievable. Â I then decided to order dessert after the meal, to go. Â Now, dessert does not have to be cooked in any way, but somehow they managed to take 30 minutes to put cheesecake and a brownie in a to go box and bring it out to us. Â
I will not be returning to this place to eat, its obvious there is something terribly off with their turn around time on food.
Friendly atmosphere and decent service. But----by far some of the saltiest food I have ever had. I was with 3 other people as well and 2 of them also couldn't believe how salty it was. The bloody Mary i ordered was also pretty bad but I could deal with it. Just clearly not homemade mix. Not the type of place that seems to serve lots of them so I can definitely let that slide. In the future I'll probably come back here for drinks on the weekend nights but definitely not for food.
Review Source:When me and my girlfriend arrived to this hipster-raggae restaurant, one of the two waitresses told us to find a seat wherever we'd like. After ordering overpriced drinks we waited forty-five minutes for an appetizer then we were given incorrect change after paying. I would not suggest this restaurant to anyone visiting Jacksonville beach.
Review Source:We decided to have a late lunch, around 2:30 on a Saturday and the place was [to be expected] very empty. Â Score. Â One other family downstairs, a few at the bar, no one upstairs. Â This being said, service should be fast and pleasant [and it was] and the food should have plenty of time for love and attention back in the kitchen. Â Right? Â
Empty restaurant, equals no rush, so pay attention, yes you can overcook chicken - and both our orders [coconut chicken sndwch and chicken avocado sndwch] were way overcooked. Â Just shy of jerky, on the thinner parts of the breast meat and almost no juices left at the thickest part. Â Easy enough mistake, I suppose, the first time around - the waitress said it was a new cook. [punt?] Â
The sides we ordered were wonderful, sweet potato fries with lots of crisp and mango-slaw, very fresh with a good blend of seasonings.
Willing to give BWIG one more try. Â Maybe. Â We'll see.
Worst service. Waited for an hour and still no salad. after apologizing they gave one chips and salsa and only one of our salads. And no silverware. She said there were a lot of people upstairs and downstairs and so I went up status and found all these empty tables. When we finally got our food, Half of us couldn't eat it because it was way too salty. The other have of my party ate their food anyway only because they were starving from waiting so long. I ordered the Mahi Bowl.
