I'm not sure this is the right way to do this, but I began my review of this place in my review for Heidel House Resort & Spa. Â I shall put the full version here, because I have a lot to say about it.
We patronized this venue after a rehearsal dinner on the resort property. Â There were a handful of others in there, and the gentleman running the bar was super nice and friendly, but has absolutely no business being behind a bar, let alone running it. Â We were the only group actively ordering drinks and it would take him ten minutes to pour six shots. Â He also made it evident that he was incapable of multitasking and would have to complete an order, including payment, before moving on to the next thing. Â I could understand that in a packed bar, but not when there's six of us....that were together....and all paying on one tab. Â There is a nice fire feature on the patio, but if you're having any sort of fun out there after dark, you'll get shushed by security. Â
The next day, we grabbed some lunch here, and it was ok. Â Pricey. Â I ordered the crispy chicken salad and it was fairly tasty. Â I asked for my salad dressing on the side and of course it arrived already on the the salad. Â The burger my husband had was ordinary. Â Service was spectacularly slow considering that Mr. Bartender had a friend to wait tables this afternoon and there was only one other table and they already had their food. Â Sigh. Â
Things only got worse after the wedding ceremony with a large crowd. Â After the ceremony, a large crowd migrated in. Â There was a rush on drinks and Mr. Bartender and his friend couldn't keep up to save their souls. Â I was able to acquire one drink in 32 minutes. Â Eventually they called in reinforcements, but it took far too long and by the time they arrived we were moving on to the reception. Â I'm not a hospitality professional, but since they knew there was a wedding on property, wouldn't it make sense to send down reinforcements ahead of time? Â Early on, the crew of groomsmen came in and asked if they could have a bunch of beers quick so they could get back to pictures. Â Sure, said Mr. Bartender man. Â He then proceeded to walk away, get one lime wedge, deliver it to a woman nearby, wait for her to get out her card, run the card, and wait for her to sign the slip, and then return to ask the boys what it was they wanted again? Â Oh my.
We came back again after the reception, because there is nowhere else to go, and it was bad as ever. Â It was just Mr. Bartender man and his friend again and they were pretty hopeless. Â We just brought our cooler from our room down to get drinks from since serving us appeared to be a challenge.
I forgot to mention that all the drinks were over priced as well. Â Another captive audience trick. Â I understand that they don't have to have it together since they are the only bar on the main part of the property, but you'd think they'd try a little harder.
