Was in the mood for seafood and this place was closer than Red's and Sandy Hook. Ordered off the specials menu along w/ some crab & corn chowder and some desserts to finish off the meal.
Creamy crab and corn chowder. Good w/ a hint of spice kick. Very thick and creamy.
Lobster thermidor topped w dorado and rock shrimp, served on garlic mashed potatoes and the seasonal veg of spaghetti squash. De-shelled lobster claws topped w/ dorado and shrimp in a cream sauce. Pretty good and really, anyone who doesn't like any of those foods should go eat somewhere else.
Wolf fish topped w/ lump crab in a cream sauce served w/ jasmine rice and spaghetti squash. The wolf fish itself was grilled, but not that flavorful. The flavor actually came from the cream sauce and crab meat. Good, but not great. Still, it was tasty.
Chocolate creme brulee topped w/ whipped cream and chocolate shavings. The big serving of creme brulee is a dark, rich, dense chocolate creme brulee. The whipped cream was thick and stood up well to the chocolate. Highly recommended.
Jamaican coconut cream pie w/ rum sauce. Big slice of very coconutty cream pie w/ lots of coconut and a complementing rum sauce.
tl;dr - Order a bowl of crab chowder and enjoy w/ the included crisp, soft and warm bread and basil/olive oil dipping sauce. Then order the chocolate creme brulee or coconut cream pie and escape for around $20. Or order an entree and spend about twice that.
