I’ve been with this place a handful of times, each time I had to go to the kitchen to get a menu. The waitresses know the bartenders it knowledge you. One should never sit at a bar for 30 minutes without a drink, any real owner of a bar would know that ... as a man of color I feel very uncomfortable because they are uncomfortable that I am in there. Nobody speaks to you, Mary greets you you sit by yourself waiting to be served in nobody comes over. Maybe they’re laughing and giggling with Arlington nine black mainly white customers serving them running back-and-forth having a good time while you sit at a table like you’re invisible ... if this had happened I would’ve chalked it up to just them having a bad day, but again this is my fourth and fifth time I’ve experienced big Zack same thing, so my only choice is to ignore all age that they have an issue with people coming into their establishment ... I called on two different occasions to discuss the issue of me coming in for a five times, having to go to the kitchen to get a menu, having to go to the bar and order a drink and neither the owner or manager called me back either occasion...

Atmosphere was great. The beer on tap was great tasting! The food was nothing like I expected from a bar. No crappy frozen appetizers, but free-range chicken salads, AMAZING burgers, great fresh appetizers, vegetarian choices, and so much more. I am really excited to have found this place. It's definitely a must try, you won't regret it. Prices are reasonable. Am so excited to go back on a Tuesday!
Review Source:Great food! We had the fish & chips & it was delicious! If you check in on Facebook you get a free order of Parmesan Potato Wedges & they were so yummy! Music was good & not blaring. Customer service was awesome. They all made you feel like you were special. We will be back for sure!! There's a huge protein burger that we want to try & share! Also garlic fries & sweet potato fries!! They have only been there a few months so go & give them a try. You won't be disappointed!
Review Source:Went here a few weeks ago and really enjoyed the food. The hamburger I had was very delicious and HUGE. Had great flavor. My wife had a ceasar salad and found it to be fair. The ceasar dressing was a little on the bland side, but probably safe for most. We tend to like our ceasar dressing to be tangy. The service was very good with no complaints. The ONLY reason I gave them a 4 stars, rather than a 5 is that the beer was not cold. it wasnt warm, but it wasnt ice cold like all beer should be. THey have to get this fixed. The colder the beer, the faster it gets drank, the more the patrons will drink. MAKE THE BEER ICE COLD! :)
Review Source:My husband and I have been in a couple of times for a cocktail. Â I tried hanger citron vodka, recommended by the bartender. Â Loved it! Great atmosphere, jazz music being played and great flat screen TV's. Â We went in with our family this weekend for lunch. Â All the food was amazing! The burgers are juicy and full of flavor. Â My husband had the steak sandwich, so tender and full of flavor. Â We highly recommend Bookies for a great cocktails and great fresh food.
Review Source:Went on opening day and the food was fantastic! There was a group of us so we tried a few things! First the hamburger, not only perfect but it's huge with its own carving knife. Second the fries, both regular and sweet potato, were crispy and very flavorful! On to the Fish and Chips, well my opinion is that they are way better than I've had elsewhere in town! Next would be the Fish Sandwich with a good size piece of Mahi Mahi! The bread for each of the burger were different and fresh! Employees state that the bread is all made for them by a local bakery! That's what was at our table, but everywhere you looked at the plates the food all looked so good even the veggies! Going back probably tomorrow to try something else! Now for the bar, as I don't drink they have a very extensive selection of not just your basics, but stuff you don't see in your average bar! So impressive it makes you want to order one anyway just to say you tried something you wouldn't imagine in a bar, especially Modesto! Â This place is going to be something great for lunch hour for me anyway! Wishing them the very best, but if they continue with the food that they had today they will!
