Borrelli's Italian Restaurant

Fabulous pizza!  Order the cheese pie.  It's so tasty that it doesn't need toppings to jazz it up.  Crust is golden brown and just the right thickness.  Not too much cheese that you can't taste the very good sauce.  As good as you get anywhere in the NYC metro area.

Larrado has been making pizza at Borrelli's since the mid 60's. His pizzas are excellent, but without the artistry of Da Faro's. The rest of food is good but not great. However, just had a spicy tomato sauce which was quite good. Service is excellent and the restaurant is very clean.

Went here with a friend recently for some lunch on Presidents' Day. We used to go all the time years ago and the food was really good. Don't know what's happened since then, because now its awful!! My friend got tortellini Alfredo for around $15 and there were 11 tortellini on the plate! He's a big guy, but even for a regular person this seemed like a joke. I got the rigatoni with sausage, which was my favorite thing to eat there back in the day..it was terrible! It was cold, except for the nuked sausage which had hot and cold spots. And the cream sauce was more like a paste. Such a disappointment! I guess I won't be going there again. So sad.
