We had lunch at Boshamps Oyster House, in an outside deck area over looking the harbor. It is all bar chairs and not very comfortable for anyone older. The lunch specials surprisingly were all non seafood choices which we found a little odd considering the location and name. The food however, is great. We had the oysters Boshamps and they were amazing as well as the grouper basket. We also ordered the brisket sandwich and it was very tasty as well as the sides with it. Defiantly a place to stop while in Destin.

Great view (that's why they get one star), but that's about it. We started with the Boshamps oysters & crab claws - both of which were good. The rest of our meal however was unbelievably bland and overpriced. We won't be back.

Came here on the suggestion of friends and have thanked them a few times now. Everything from the layout of the building, decor, to the presentation of the first to the last plate served was well thought out.

The food was delicious. Between four of us we had a cup of corn and crab chowder, cup of gumbo, oyster basket, shrimp basket, and blackened grouper sandwich. No complaints with any if it.

Ask about the desserts - they have desserts that are not listed on the menu. We tried the Southern Pecan pie that came with a side of bourbon ice cream. It was all I could do not to lick the plate from each course.

Last but definitely not least - the service. Our servers name is Johnny K - great sense of humor to go right along with our group and very knowledgable about the menu.

Their crab cakes and hush puppies are the best! Had a window seat with a view of the marina! Great service

I can see myself spending some time here. The vibe is great, the food and service were on spot too. One of the better Spinach dips I've had in the area, and the sliders with an over easy egg on top-very cool. Fries could be better and the beer selection needs to grow but you will find one you want and at very fair prices.
I went on a Sunday afternoon still dressed in my beach attire, sat at the outside covered bar with a beautiful view and had a great time. There were some games on the TV that seemed to have packed  the place but it wasn't insane, still very laid back.

    Bonus- they are DOG FRIENDLY!

This place is going to be one of the highlights of Destin, without doubt.  There are so many smart things going on.

Atmosphere.  Boshamps is a good-looking restaurant.  They did a great job of making the interior restaurant open but with an intimate feel and a good view of the harbor.  The upper and lower patios are both executed well, giving you great views of the boats and the beautiful Destin sunsets.

Food.  I can't wait to get into their menu a little more.  It has a nice mix of the Seafood Restaurant Greatest Hits, along with some interesting and delicious-looking Creole dishes.  Delicious Southern (fattening) cooking items are countered with lighter fare and impressive salad choices.

Oysters.  This is the place.  They serve them raw and steamed, as well as baked in some ways you won't believe.  I could go broke eating oysters here and wouldn't even care.

Sauce.  They have it covered.  You'll find the greatest hits of draft and bottled beer, a modest but admirable wine collection and a smart cocktail list that covers both the touristy fru-fru and their twist of some classic cocktails.  They even have a list of oyster shooters!

Sports.  There are TVs everywhere on the upper patio.  This is a great place to watch The Game.

    Smart, smart place.

I have not eaten here yet, I've only had drinks on the deck. I had the bushwhacker which was really good (more for dessert though). The view of the harbor is amazing here! They even had corn hole and huge screen TV down at the bottom which was perfect to watch the game on. I will def coming back to try the food and watch another sunset.

    Summary: Excellent food and ambiance
Started out poorly. We waited for literally over 15 mins. for someone to even address our table. The manager stopped by to ask if anyone had taken our drink orders and we were honest. From then on, everything was great, from the service to the food. They surprised us with some free appetizers for the mix up so, between the 5 of us, we were able to sample a wide variety of their menu.
They've put a lot of work into remodeling the restaurant and adding a great little children's play area, complete with beach service chairs so that parents can chill out by the water. The outdoor dining area is a new addition and will be a big hit.
Overall, Boshamps is the new up and coming seafood restaurant in the area. The food was better than the other staples we normally recommend to guests. We will definitely return.

After being in Destin for the past week, and eating out for most every meal, we finally found the best restaurant in town. Boshamps is in an incredible location, has great service and the food, UNBELIEVABLE!!  The Boshamps oysters were ridiculous good as was the house special snapper. Great wine selection too. Easily the best in Destin.

My husband and I came here with two friends on a Sunday night. The restaurant was relatively busy, and we had a wait, so we grabbed a drink at the bar. The bartender told us that if we wanted to leave the tab open that we needed to give him a credit card. So what did he do? Closed our tab on my husbands card then told us that someone else could just pay for the next round instead of fixing his mistake. A few minutes later we get seated and we have the rudest waitress. She was older with red-ish hair. She treated us terribly. Our friend ordered unsweetened tea and was given sweet tea, which was no big deal. He drank it anyway, and when the time came for a refill he simply requested unsweetened. Well she was obviously annoyed, and rolled her eyes at him. She brought him his refill and slammed it on the table with a "here". She then ignored us the rest of the evening with unpleasant conversations speckled throughout our stay. On another note the food tasted good, although it was cold by the time we received it. I had the fried shrimp with slaw and hand-cut fries and it was amazing. My husband got the catch-of-the-day and he ended up eating half of mine because he didn't like his. Overall the atmosphere was great, beautiful location and the interior is well done. I just don't know why the staff was so incredibly unpleasant. They need to be managed better. They are a newer restaurant and need word of mouth to be positive. Employees like the ones we encountered made the experience less-than positive.

Great food! Came here from a recommendation, and it was wonderful. It's a little pricey but everyone at our table enjoyed their food....awesome service too!

Consistently good food, solid service & a fantastic view.  Music is all 80's rock as the target demo is the 40+ crowd (of which I'm included.). Venue is very new and seating for larger groups is possible.  This is not a quiet experience as the dining rooms are large, open & centered around one of the (5?) bars.  The oysters Boshamp's are truly impressive if you like oysters at all.  The menu even pays tribute to one of the Flamingo Cafe's (occupant of the space 20 years ago) original recipe's.  Although there's a good deal of tourist fare, you can usually find quite a few locals dining here.  Always excited to see an independent restaurant with such a well executed concept.

Forget all the traditional Destin touristy restaurants- GO TO BOSHAMPS! My husband and I decided to stop in- mainly because they have a lobster mac and cheese which sounded so delish. The ambiance is great- perfect place to hang at the bar, it's much more upscale than Dewey Destin's and the likes so I wouldn't stroll in straight off the beach.

I ordered the oysters- delicious. They didn't clean the shells which is my biggest pet peeve but they were so fresh I got over it.

They bring unlimited hush puppies and butter to the table and encourage you to spread the sweet butter over the hush puppy- it's so good I don't care if you judge me for doing it.

The lobster mac and cheese was delicious and rich- the portion looks small but it's so filling I could only eat half.

If you're looking for moderately upscale, harbor front dining with a thoughfully prepared menu check out Boshamps! You won't find unlimited fried options and kiddy food- this is where the grown up's eat.

My husband and I live in Destin and love to try all the seafood restaurants.  We tried fried green tomatoes with crab meat appetizer and I had the salad with grilled snapper for $15.95 --this was amazing. We did not have to wait to be seated so this was a treat. Highly recommend! We will be returning. The food tasted very very good and after all --this is why we pay to eat out. If you are into food at its best then go to Boshamps!
We returned today and enjoyed the crab corn chowder and fried shrimp- again it was the best fried shrimp I've had in Destin next to one other place. Waitress was a doll!

We went to boshamps with a large group. The wait wasn't bad at all, but we did sit at the oyster bar until we got a table. We loved the oysters there and the shucker was a real nice guy.

We got to our table, which was outside, and enjoyed the view. The food was mediocre. Not the best seafood, but not the worst. We will go back, but only for oysters.

    Great restaurant.
Oyster's were great.  My seven year old loved them.
Next time I am in Destin, I will definitely visit again; recommend everyone else to give a try.

Went here 6/17 with the family. The place is huge and really cool! The decks are amazing, right on the harbor, a sand "playground" area for kids, fishing poles set up so they can fish off the dock. Great band played , Dread Clampitt, and I understand they are there every Saturday night!! I would go back just to see them.
The smoked tuna dip app was delicious. 2 people in our party ordered fried grouper and chicken fingers for the 2 y/o. 1 fish was not cooked all the way through and the chicken finger were actually fish and still raw!! Thank goodness we noticed before she ate it.

Loved the ambiance! I had the crab cake which was delicious and beautifully presented but I'm somewhat of a purist and didn't find the pecans and vinaigrette served over/on it inspiring.  My daughter got the Lobster Macaroni and we felt that it was 'ok' but not worth the price.  My Mom got the fried crawfish basket and thought it was delicious! I got the fried shrimp basket and I can tell you, those were the biggest shrimp I've had since arriving.  Absolutely yummy! I even liked the batter.  I think if you're on a budget, go with the baskets!

My husband and I came to Boshamps based on a recommendation from one of the staff members at our hotel. We were visiting Destin for our anniversary and asked for a place with great food and a view.  Boshamps is definitely it!

The calamari and dipping sauce were delicious, and we each had "The Original" Snapper Destin which was amazing. Superb service and a great view of the harbor from pretty much anywhere in the restaurant. We absolutely loved Boshamps and will definitely be returning on future trips to Destin!

We took a chance and came here since the place is so new.  During our week here in Destin we have been here twice.  The food and service was awesome!  Glad we found it this week because it was not crowded.  Next year we won't be able to get in without a long wait.

I have many things to say about this restaurant, so I'm going to narrow it down into a bulleted list, starting with the positives.

    PROS:
    - Delicious food. I ordered the fried shrimp basket, which came with delicious french fries. My date ordered a ribeye, and let me try a piece of it, which was also melt-in-your-mouth good. We also ate raw oysters, which tasted fine...but...see the negatives below for more on that...
    - Amazing views of the harbor. At sunset, this is a great place to be.
    - Live music (at least while we were there).

    CONS:
    - Waitress couldn't remember a darn thing. We both ordered a Sweetwater IPA, she brought one, and then asked my date if he wanted anything to drink. Then, she never came back to the table to check on us, except to bring the check later.
    - The television sets in the bar area are positioned in a way that only the people sitting directly at the bar can actually see them.
    - Loud/drunk/obnoxious/SEC fans were not controlled by a manager, although they were loudly yelling swear words in the presence of families and children.
    - This restaurant is so huge, I'm afraid it'll just become another Joe's Crab Shack/Pineapple Willy's in no time.
    - The oysters. Ok, I get it, Apalachicola oysters are bigger than North Carolina oysters. However, I'm pretty sure  that these oysters were not cleaned properly, and I had to scrape bits of shell, dirt, and other "muck" out of my oysters before eating them. Also, the PBR-infused dipping sauce that comes with the oysters did not really pair well (in my opinion). I would've preferred ye olde tabasco and horseradish.
    - The price of the food. Although, I fear this is just a characteristic of eating in Destin. $15 for a fried shrimp basket? +$30 for a ribeye? I'm sorry, but I'm more of a cheap, dive-restaurante type of girl.

This is the old Flamingo Cafe location. (or Destin Chops, if you don't go way back).
The footprint of the interior remains essentially the same, but a multi layer covered deck has been added on the harbor side along with a large play area (sandbox) for the kiddies. Remodeled throughout. Becky was awesome as our server. Very patient with my daughter and her dietary needs.
The food was excellent. The menu has a number of items that are beyond the usual fried/grilled/breaded Destin fare. Lobster corndog is just what you would imagine and yummy. Their take on a Cuban (The Pig and the Pickle) is very good. Not an authentic Cuban, but a great sandwich. And your too far north for a real Cuban anyway. Son in law had the Yardbird sandwich and declared it delicious. The little one got a fish basket from the kids menu. Big hit with him. We all sampled a bite of the fish cause it looked so good and it was. Really tasty fries.
We're not big oyster fans, but if that's your thing you should check the on-line menu.
A large variety of preparations. They were flying out of the kitchen at lunchtime!
Great harbor view from the deck. Service and food great. Destin has a terrific new addition to the dining scene. Oh yeah, I love bread and butter pickles!

Transient in the area and heard from some buddies of mine about this new place...so we decided to check it out.
First off, love the set-up of the restaurant and smell of fresh cedar as you walk-in to their premises.
We got seated on the covered deck area overlooking the marina and backdrop was awesome.
The menu choices were pretty good...our group got multiple appetizers that included fried green tomatoes with lump crab, calamari, fried crab legs, and artichoke dip - what can I say, all were pretty tasty and filling to say the least.
I personally got the bowl of gumbo (which was a little on the salty side) but decent enough...I actually have had better to tell you the truth. I also ordered their mac n' cheese and it was ok - it was just a side order anyways.
Overall, love the set-up of this place and it's a good hang-out spot for drinks and appetizers especially if you sit outside.
    Would definitely come back...
***Service could have been faster, but I figured they are fairly new so give them the benefit of the doubt***

    Cheers!

Top notch raw oysters and service.

Since I usually rely on yelp to steer me toward good food, this was a gamble.

Boshamps is new and without reviews, but I'm happy to report that this is a winner. If you're looking for a water view, great service (thanks Courtney), fresh raw oysters, and decent drinks...look no further. We'll be back!
