Terrible service at one point was told to by a server who i had proved
Wrong to not f***ing come back as if it was some prestigious place. Do not go there I have experienced this same person multiple times in the coon rapids location and have heard others complain of times with her as well. If you have to choose ramen noodles or Boston's I would suggest ramen every time.
Not a lot of love on here for Boston's apparently! But I am happy to report that I sincerely enjoyed my experience here last night! I picked up my friend in Anoka to go out for a drink and while it was late night, I really did expect that this place was going to be empty, dreary, and that it was just going to be some silly drink special for a Monday night.
We got in about midnight, and when we sat down were greeted by one of the nicest gals I've met in a while! I really wish that I could remember her name, but she was pretty much the only girl working the bar (other than what appeared to be a manager that was cleaning stuff and periodically checking in with other customers). She was super fun, bubbly even, and as a cynical person I really enjoyed her whit and banter. Whoever is making the hiring decisions here did a fantastic job when they hired her!
Anywho, we sat down and she immediately talked up the 2:1 special (which I obviously cashed in on haha), and put a menu down in front of me after I mentioned I was hungry. I had fully expected the kitchen to be closed so this was a very welcome addition for me! After some lengthy consideration and a wonderful suggestion from my new favorite bartender, I decided on a BBQ Chicken Calzone. In all honesty, I really wasn't expecting much out of happy hour food, but was amazed at what came out on my plate for $4.99. 4 moderately sized, piping hot, crispy (as opposed to the soggy nasty ones you occasionally will get elsewhere) calzones with a dipping sauce. Honestly they were big, cheesey, and delicious!
After a few drinks, and boxing up the leftovers it was time to bid adieu to Boston's, but if I am in the area I will most assuredly be stopping in again!
Boston's is pretty decent...
I took the family there on Sunday night because none of us had tried Boston's before. The food was very good, the service was excellent, the prices were on the high side. Some of the other customers sitting close to us were disruptive. Â I wanted to go with a four stars but the girls wanted to go with a three. Â Majority rules--three stars it is.
We started with chips and queso dip. Â These were very good. Â The chips were interesting...obviously made in the kitchen, not out of a bag. Â The queso dip was great and made out of real cheese...better than we expected.
I had the jalapeno and shredded onion burger (with fries) and my daughter had the bacon burger (with fries). Â The burgers were HUGE and cooked perfectly. Â They were excellent. Â The fries were also very good. Â My wife had the chicken caesar salad...with everything on the side. Â She loved the salad and the chicken was cooked perfectly.
The service was excellent. Â As a side note, Sunday night is the night when a person comes in to make shaped balloons for kids. Â Our daughter really liked the balloon lady. Â The balloon thing is nice if you have young children.
We wanted to see the calories of the burgers, out of curiosity, because they were so large. Â They were extremely gracious about this, and they let us look at their entire nutrition book.
Our total bill was $49.74. Â This is a little high for two burgers, a salad, an appetizer, and 3 soft drinks. Â (They were HUGE, gourmet style burgers though.)
We also had drunk customers sitting on two sides of use. Â There were two patrons directly behind us that were pretty disruptive. Â When they finally left, they could hardly walk. Â And there was a group of six people, across the isle from us that were loud and pretty snookered. Â There was enough seating available, they could have definitely seated us far away from these idiots. Â The dudes behind us probably should have been cut off. Â (FYI, we were sitting in the dining room, not in the bar.)
All in all, we would definitely go back and try them again. Â We wouldn't make a special trip but if we're hungry and in the area, we'll stop in for lunch or dinner.

Ugh. It's just not good. Â The service has been horrible both times we've been here (came the second time because it was our daughters choice) and the food is blah.
Sat outside and found ourselves by surrounded by drunk chain smoking rugby players. We were already done with our meal but couldn't get our check to leave for over 15 minutes.
Just not worth it.
Ugh! Can you tell how this is going to go? I should of known when we pulled in at noon on a Saturday and the place was empty that something was not right. This place is located in the middle of a ton of shopping places and it was literally empty except for a few people at the bar. Â How I got talked into this place I'll never know. Think I was in a good mood this particular day, at least up until I had to pay $25.00 for a mediocre at best pizza. Nothing on the menu sounded all that great and Boston's is supposedly known for some decent pizza's. So to be safe, I ordered pizza. It was nothing special and overpriced if you ask me. Our service was really good so no complaints there, but I doubt I will come back here again, maybe for a beer? They do have a decent patio.
