no offense, but anyone who likes this place needs to experience other places. this place is TRASH! i live down the block and there IS ALWAYS A FIGHT; ALWAYS ON THURSDAY. Do they have a  college night or something? The neighborhood is amazing, but this bar as someone else said, is a CANCER. I have seen on over 5 occasions over the past 10 months (i recently moved) about 50 people fighting on the street at 3 or 4 am. I am a woman of color, but i'm sorry CUT the hip hop if you want to avoid fights and make this bar 21+. I see YOUNG girls (high school age) going to this bar. CLOSE THIS PLACE DOWN.
If the bronx ale house is packed go to Mr. Magoos on 231 (on broadway actually). MUCH BETTER.
i'm not gonna lie... this place is straddling the line of dive bar and... something else. but nevermind that, bottom line is a damn good time! i usually come here when that other place is full of extra obnoxious people. the drinks are cheap and good. the bartenders are fairly nice.
the only thing is, the music can get really loud which means you don't really come here to talk to your friends, unless you get there before about 8pm. so what do you do when they crank the music up? you get up and dance! :o)
other than not being able to talk to my friends, i have no complaints about this place. when i come here i'm usually with my fiance and a group of friends. i'm not looking to talk to strangers, so the personality of the clientele (or lack thereof) doesn't effect me. and i've never been harassed by anyone.
i guess different strokes for different folks.
Ok so the bronx ale house was packed one night and my friends and I thought why not try the bottom line. It always looks empty..even on the nights it should be packed (major sporting events, weekened nights etc)
this place...no. sorry not my thing. the staff sucks, the 5 or 6 people who come in here regularly have no personality and the place just misses that ambiance people crave.
I rather stand up with my beer at the ale house then sit in a booth here. Not worth it.
Love this bar! Beautiful decor', Best tap beers...so many tap beers!!! Great prices, Great staff, Great owner.....Love the pop corn machine...Yummy!!! Beer Bongs are my Fave! ( Just Saying)... Love how you break it up with Live music and other nights DJ's..... Had the best time...Thanks Bottom Line Ale House
Review Source:Went to this place during the weekend and was not impressed. Â They have a decent selection on tap. Â And when I say decent I mean they have more than just a handful of beers on tap. They had a live DJ the night I went and it really wasn't anything special. Â
On a sidenote, I almost got into a fight in this place because of some drunk guy who couldn't keep his hands off the ladies. Â He was literally harrassing every female in the place. Â Mind you, there was a bouncer at the door. Â Getting into physical altercations is not my cup of tea. Â If you're looking for a good place to hangout with some friends. Â THIS IS NOT THE PLACE. Â Good day.
This bar opened up earlier this year and is nothing original. Â I've been in here 4 or 5 times and the staff is pretty horrible. Â No personality, and a really trashy clientele. Â
No one is ever in the place and they seem to always have their doors closed at weird times. Â (I walked passed on a tuesday night at 10PM and it was closed.)
So skip this spot. Â That is unless you love crappy top 40 rap and country music. Â There are much better dives in the area with actual personality.
