Save your co-workers from going to Wendy's or Subway. Please. Please. Please. It's 2013 (as of the date of this review) not 1999 - the year of try something new and do something awesome for yourselves!! Â Okay, so you're just hungry... well Brews N' Bytes is definitely one of the most awesome cafes in the area to grab lunch or dinner. The cafe seems to be primarly vegetarian with a surprisingly amount of vegan offerings as well. There is quite a few items so the omnivores won't be left out - so no need to shy away if you would like to bring a date here either. The staff is gregarious and efficient as to always making your stay an awesome and uplifting one. Â There's also open mic nights here which I would be inclined to check out sometime.
Review Source:Hands down best cafe I have ever been to. Why you may ask? My darling eighty-year- old Grandmother's expertise is embedded into two things: cooking and complaining. Needless to say she RAVES about this place. Absolutely loves it. Says it's the only place she's gotten a great meal in decades.
This great cafe has a uniquely colorful menu that can quench anyones palate. Not to mention extremely friendly wait staff, making you feel right at home. I always try to make it in on Fridays to dig into their spicy, hearty and homemade chili. Then cool down with a tasty mango lasse. Check this place out!
Undoubtedly my favorite restaurant in Danville. You really can't go wrong with any of the choices the menu offers. From the new fancy grilled cheese option to the soup of the day, everything is mouth watering. Not to mention the plethora of hot and cold drinks that are offered. And on top of all the fantastic flavor, the owners (a local family) are amazing people. They'll bend over backwards to make you happy.
So go and enjoy this local, down to earth place. You won't regret it.
Brews N Bytes has been my favorite restaurant and source of coffee in Danville and the surrounding area for years. Their menu offers an exciting and absolutely delicious array of food that dares to venture out of the bland steak and potato region of Central Pennsylvania. That's right, you can't get meat here. But why not try their orgasmic vegarian BNB Cincinnati Chili that blesses every patron who decides to enter each and every Friday. It's a blast of spice and savory goodness, topped off with cheese and sour cream that wonderfully balances the heat from the chili. Not to mention all of their other amazing soups of the day. The Thai Tomato and the Dahl soup are among my top 3 favorite soups served at Brews.
So you like perogies? Why not try the puffer stuffers!? They are scrumptious puff pastries pregnant with mouth watering combinations-spinach and mozzarella/ mashed potatoes and cheese / the list goes on.
Brews recently added grilled cheese to the menu, but these aren't the typical sliced kraft and plain old bread grilled cheese sandwiches. These are grilled cheese sandwiches with creativity and flavor coming up first. One has a Sriracha-cream cheese spread mixed with jalapeños that gives your taste buds a savory and spicy cheese filled experience. I haven't had a chance to try the other grilled cheese sandwiches, but they sound wonderful-check the online menu as their menu does change time to time (so that you're force to shy away from the first bite of your first Brews meal, as it is likely you will want to eat that for every waking moment.)
Brews also has wraps and salads, all of wich are amazing. The Thai Wan Over warp is one of my favorite entrees at Brews. I like to get it on a spinach tortilla, and it's filled with rice, black beans, thai green curry, tofu, cheddar cheese, and I believe hints of lemon. Loooove it.
And you HAVE to get their coffee. If you are a coffee drinker then coming to Brews is a must. They have THE BEST coffee in Danville. The coffee is always fresh and isn't ground until right before it's used, and it all comes from an amazing local roaster. The espresso drinks are equally amazing. Jason, the owner, is a true Cuban and will insist that you try some Sugar in the Raw the next time you get a shot (actually, they only serve double shots-move caffeine for you!!! Woohoo!) The chocolate used in the mocha cappuccinos is equally fabulous. I believe they use ghirardelli chocolate for them. You can also get iced coffee and other cold and creamy drinks to cool off of a hot day. The mango lassi is absolutely amazing, and if you're never had one, then you must try it. There aren't too many places in the area that serve indian food, so it's a blessing to find some at Brews.
Lastly, when you walk into Brews you will likely become transfixed by the array of divine-looking baked goods made by the chef extraordinaire-Lisa. Her chocolate ESPRESSO brownies are incredible, and yes, they do have espresso in them. I've seen her make just about every kind of cake and pastry available, and I have never had one that I did not love.
The environment in Brews n Bytes is equally amazing as the food they serve. It's family run and not terribly large, creating a very homely, warm atmosphere. If you go for a second time, those working are likely to recognize you and check in on how you were since your last visit. The café is filled with plenty of oddities collected over the years so you must take some time to snoop around. You may happen upon a Santa Clause wearing a gas mask, or even an old filmscript from the cult classic film "Pulp Fiction." The waiters/baristas mostly consist of the owners' children, and they are all lovely, amazing people that you should really get to know. Lisa is often working hard in the kitchen, but if you get a chance make sure to say hello. Jason, the co-owner and Lisa's hubby is a wonderfully, zany man that you are bound to bump into and walk away smiling with an uplifted spirit.
Essentially, if you're in the area then you better go to Brews N Bytes. Great food, great atmosphere, reasonable prices, and fantastic coffee!
Great food, great decor and great people! Â I had the Thai rice noodles with peanut sauce here last week that was to die for! Â Oh and try the pineapple soda too. Â The menu is the most interesting and diverse in the area. Â I haven't seen anyone yet who can finish the whole pillow puffer. Â Just call or check the web site before making plans as their hours frequently change.
Review Source:The vegetable gods have answered my prayers, there IS vegetarian-friendly dining in Northumberland County. If I have another slice of pizza, I'm going to commit epicurean suicide. Vegetarians and vegans rejoice!
Brews N Bytes is an interesting eatery. It is a cafe and coffeehouse hybrid. The decor is definitely eclectic and funky, with a slight hippie vibe. There are books and games for entertainment and paintings depicting who-knows-what to look at. In fact, it is encouraged to take your time to eat and drink here unlike other restaurants. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual. There is even live music on some nights. Don't be surprised to be greeted and appreciated by the owner himself.
The menu consists of worldly dishes. From Cuban Corn Fritters to Thai-inspired Salads to Hummus Wraps, Brews N Bytes offers the most original (and several humorously named) food in the area. There are too many vegetarian dishes to count, but omnivores will find food to eat here as well. The portions are generous and the food is fresh and flavorful. The owner's wife prepares and cooks the dishes. Brews N Bytes is family owned and operated. (Due to this, they are closed Sundays and Mondays.)
Hooray for healthy and vegetarian/vegan-friendliness in central Pennsylvania!
Awesome food, small but welcoming environment, and a really cool owner with an outstanding memory! Â (I'd visited this past June when I was in town, and stopped in yesterday - he welcomed me back and even recalled details of our previous conversations!) Â I've dined here alone on several occasions, and have always had good service. Â When I bring work there, I never feel rushed to leave - in fact, one time they helped me find a better table to spread out and do my studying! Â There are instruments available if the mood strikes you, and there's always a lively conversation just waiting to start. Â
Oh, and did I mention the food? Â It's great, and has quite an extensive vegetarian/vegan selection. Â It's all quite delicious, and the drink selection is also mind-bogglingly plentiful. Â Don't forget to save room for dessert. Â The menus are cute too, with space for doodling, if you're into interacting with your surroundings.
