We got deviled eggs with bacon on them for an appetizer. They were pretty good.

For my entree I ordered the parmesan panko fried shrimp and they weren't very good. The shrimp didn't seem fresh and the coating was burnt.

When this first opened, we started going here. It was really a great place. The man-cave wings were saucy and succulent, and the drinks were spot-on. We could bring our dog on the patio and we had a few favorite servers.

Over time, though, the food went south. The wings were drizzled rather than smothered in sauce... even when we requested otherwise. They oftentimes came so overcooked and dry that the bones were charred and broken/cracked. And the bartenders actually argued with us when we saw them pour well liquor for a drink we asked for top shelf on ("no I didn't pour well"). And the last straw is when they stopped letting pooches on the patios.

But, even with everything else going downhill, they still bring your dog (tied outside the patio entrance though) a bowl of water, and our servers are still there on the weekends we are, and that's always a bonus, because they are still one of the few places on the Island that you can get authentic, good service.. if you know who to ask for.

P.S. their man-cave wing sauce is awesome, as is their fried stuffed olives and the black and bleu burger.

It's an mediocre gastropub. Stick with burgers, fish n chips, etc, and you won't be let down. If its fried its probably a good choice. Don't get fancy, just get dancy.

I'm not keen on writing bad reviews, but I don't have too many great things to say about this place. I've visited this place about 6 times and had 3 bad experiences. Once was on Grand Opening night, so I didn't hold that against them. We were sat on the patio and waited for 15 minutes before finally getting up and leaving. Went back several weeks later and was impressed with their happy hour. I've taken an out of town guest there a couple of times and had a decent experience, but the service is not top notch. The thing that finally did it for me was when I rode my bike from the far East side of the island with a friend there for happy hour and we arrived with 10 minutes left for happy hour. The waitress on the patio said happy hour was over. We showed her our watches and cell phones and questioned her that there was still 10 minutes left to order a couple of apps and some beer. She informed us that their clock was 10 minutes fast, so happy hour was over. We rode our bikes all the way back to the far East end and spent our money somewhere else. I phoned the restaurant and the manager was not friendly and said that we should have asked for a manager, but I felt as though the waitress should have done something to capture us. I'm not a complainer. If you don't want my money then I will spend it somewhere else. There are better happy hours on the island that actually serve during the times that are posted for their happy hours.

Terrible service, super slow, I like my beers to keep coming and they just wouldn't.  I wanted to grab the waitress by the hand and tell her "either make more trips or bring a bigger glass," but alas, I'll just yelp about it.

After running a mud run, my friend and I stopped in after a mind boggling line at the Spot, after further inspection, I'm glad we did, atmosphere is much nicer, you actually get a server, and the patio is beautiful.

We were able to snag a prime table outside, on a beautiful Saturday afternoon, and ordered the fried zucchini slices which was HUGE!  They came with a zesty dipping sauce that I loved.  We split a turkey club which left a lot to be desired, but it did the trick, as the both of us were starving.  The drink menu is interesting, as they did have several Shiner varieties, and some specialty cocktails, although the  muddled blackberry concoction definitely lacked alcohol.  The service was fairly good, but the poor guy was slammed, and took a while getting back to us with our check.  They did have one drink that I really wanted to taste, and would probably be back for, Jameson and pickle juice....Weird enough that it may be good.  Some of the other food I saw come out looked very good, so I would give it another shot.

Atmosphere: 4 starts, lovely patio, over looking the beach, with breeze, and nice seating for large groups

Service: 3.5, friendly but a bit slow

Food 3, could be improved based on what I ordered

Drink Menu: Solid 4, but pour an extra shot in peeps!

Hopefully the next time will be 4!

I had such high hopes for this restaurant as I was seated. They gave us a couch near the fire place. Awesome. The menu was amazing. I chose the Chicken and Waffles. The drink menu was extensive and creative. Unfortunately, the service was awful. We told our waitress that we were in a hurry. 35 minutes after placing our order, we inquired about the delay. She kept blowing us off and acted frustrated with us that the food was taking forever. When the food did come out, it was missing ingredients listed on the menu. My waffles were supposed to come with strawberries. My friend's crab cake sandwich was missing the sauce. She didn't come back to check on us. We had to get up and ask another server to bring sauce. It was just a frustrating experience.

I've been here twice. I enjoyed both my visits enough. I wish I could give them 3.5 stars.
The restaurant itself has a fun modern interior while remaining cozy.
I like the options on the menu, it was hard for me to choose. The club sandwich and fries were good, the second time around. I cannot recall what I had the first time, but I'm sure it was equally good.

The pizza is poor, PASS ON THAT. Also the server was nice, but despite a nearly empty restaurant, it took forever to just to get a water refill. I recall similar service my first visit.
As an underage, I cannot expand on the quality of the bar service but I can say they had a large variety.

Well, upon arrival we were ignored for a few minutes, then seated at a booth when we asked for a table.  The place was maybe 20% full.  Service was what I have experienced at other Brickhouses, generally poor.  My food was actually decent, however, I did order a salad which is supposed to be served chilled.  Really, I can't figure out how these places stay open.

We have been to the Brick House multiple times and have always had a good time. The couch seating is a great idea and so are the beer bongs. The pretzel sticks are an amazing appetizer. I have gotten a burger and it too was a great burger. Wait staff was friendly and checked in every so often. Great place!

I went here to find a basketball game that the hotel cable did not carry.  The waitress turned it on especially for us.  The drinks were okay, the food was good but service was just a tad too slow - but it was spring break and the waitstaff was ran ragged.  Our waitress needed to be reminded twice of something but we still lived another day to tell about it.

The manager came by to greet us and thank us for being there. I love it when managers do that. AHEM....

There is a huge fireplace inside and a firepit outside.  The booths inside  look enormous - probably for our ever-widening girths - and several are right by the fireplace.  We sat at the counter facing the TV. There are also media chairs with drink holders and little trays that attach for your meal.

I would definitely come here again, it was a great place to kill an evening watching our favorite team, eating a meal and having a couple of drinks.

My boyfriend and I just moved to the Seawall and this is one of the closest bars to our house. We can walk home if we are feeling too tipsy and we like that.
We stopped in here on a Wednesday evening after happy hour and sat outside on their huge patio. It has a nice fire to sit by when those cool breezes roll through. We decided to order a couple of drinks and some appetizers. I went with a personal favorite, a Moscow Mule and he got a beer. Both of the drinks were good, but when we ordered another Moscow Mule it didnt come in the mug that the previous one came in. If you have had one you know that the mug is part of the whole drink. Oh well.
We ordered the pretzels with three dips. It came with honey mustard, a spicy ranch, and queso. The queso and ranch were delicious but the honey mustard tasted like yellow mustard with a drop of honey in it. We also ordered a bowl of French onion soup that was really good.
Our server was really friendly and quick. There are cooler places to go in Galveston but this one is nice with it's location and all.

Brickhouse. We stopped here to pregame Mardi gras and got a full beer bong and a few cocktails. The waitress was really nice an we were ready to give her a big tip. She asked us if we wanted the bill split, and we said yes. When she came back, instead of splitting the check she just told us what the cost of the beer bong was per person. There went the tip. Laziness.

It's a long story, but we were looking for a place in Galveston yesterday to watch the Dynamo's soccer game.  We'd been to the Brick House in Houston so we thought we'd try the one in Galveston. It was an excellent choice.

To start it wasn't very crowded and we were told we could pick any place to sit and if the nearest TV didn't have anyone watching it, they'd put whatever game on we wanted.  We found seats at the bar and He started out with Hoegaarden - a Belgian white beer.  I had a Gosling black rum cocktail mixed with Gosling ginger beer.  I'm a definite dark rum fan and the combination was delicious.

We tried three of their snack plates; house made potato chips with white queso and blue cheese crumbles, deep fried olives stuffed with sausage and brie, and white chicken bites served with BBQ sauce, ranch dressing and honey mustard.

The potato chips were a definite winner.  There was something in the olives that was a bit spicy for my taste, but He liked it just fine.  The chicken was tasty but nothing special.

If we're in Galveston, we'll go back and I'm thinkin' there's a trip to the Houston spot in our near future.

We have a Brick House Tavern on North Side of Austin roughly about an hour from my ranch. I instead went out of my way to drive four hours to try the concept. Its sister restaurant is Joe's Crab Shack; that's not an appealing start. Never had a good meal there and I tried numerous times. It shares real estate with said its sibling on Seawall with a glorious gulf view.

A two part tale you should be dwelling; differences in the visits were a good contrast of what can go right and wrong. First visit was stellar. A Great waitress named Meghan with two dishes consumed. Soft pretzels with queso, yellow mustard, and sriracha ranch. Crisp on the outside, the fluffy sticks worked their magic on the table. The Thai salad with grilled chicken turned equal praise. The perfect amount of dressing with thin wonton strips, great flavor profile on the chicken mixed among quality greens.

I'd describe the beer bong apparatus as a Sharper Image failed aquarium tower experience. It was deceiving only because it didn't come with a sleek remote and failed to replenish itself. Fireman's four half filled the bong on each visit. Serve yourself of $13 each night plus good bites.  We chilled on the patio with the ocean waves crashing with us; I totally want one a Brick House in South Austin!

Second visit we were blessed to actually see a Longhorns game on a major network; Saturday seating inside next to the giant fireplace. While I kept cooled down via the beer bong, we enjoyed the coverage in the second half after the wife's first Bingo experience.  The pretzels were again great bites. We added two additions trying the deviled eggs and zucchini appetizers. Minimal excess oil  on the green ribbons with shaved parmesan cheese. The eggs placed in the average category.

Service for the second visit was sparse. Our waitress was demoted to expeditor and as she came out of the kitchen she looked down passing her previous tables without attention delivering food to other sections. The wife's glass stayed empty nearly the entire second go around. We resided next to another group of patrons that eventually ended up in the parking lot and seconds later the convenience store across the street to control rogue party members having an argument. Watching them drag the woman across Seawall sealed a nice three star rating for the two evenings.

I really love this place. I love that you can sit in a cozy fire place setting inside, or head outside to the patio for great people watching and a view of the water and pier. Order a glass of wine, draft beer (they had a selection of at least 15) or some little keg contraption they bring to the table.  Anything is game here it seems! Including the the games on jumbo TV's! it's a slice of modern life out in Galveston!

In terms of food, they do an awesome blue cheese. Their wedge salad is perfection, I've had it twice and my husband is cleaned off my plate both times.. and he doesnt even do salad most of the time.  They do fried food well too, including onion strings and hmm hmmm fried chicken.

I will be blunt about my one dislike - their pizza sucks. it's tastes like the high-end frozen kinda.. Blech. Steer clear, but fear not there are much better things on the menu.

Other than that the servers are always nice, and I love the experience here. I even got 5 dollars off for checking in. That's my kinda place, one to offer a deal!  So if your hanging in Galveston, and feeling burnt out on seafood give this place a try!

On the Island during a UT game day, our crew cruised over to Brick House Tavern for beer, bar bites and some comfortable seating.

Bites were decent. I'd rec the mac 'n' cheese. It has a spicy queso consistency and with jalapeños! Other than that, i thought the mushroom pizza was just okay. And the beer selection? Mmmm. A fair selection of craft brews, but not many from Texas. I saw a few Shiners and one Saint Arnold.

As far as comfort goes, this place was hot, humid, and with no air flow. I actually trekked to the ladies room at least three times for cooler air and a moment to breathe.

    Pretzels in ranch.......mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Got the philly cheesesteak pizza. It was pretty damn good.

The service was terrific, and the view is amazing.

Too bad we were only there for lunch. I'd love to go back and make a whole night of it.

Comparable to any other ACME Beerhouse INC.  Just happens to be on Seawall in Galveston.  Beer list is good.  Food is typical pub fare.  Schtick is the beer bongs.  Lots of Frat Bros and drunkenness; if that is your scene.  And this is coming from a former Frat Bro.

I decided to give this location a chance (not so happy with service at NWFwy location) because i was hungry and wanted some beer after sitting at beach working.

Well, service started slow.  I sat at bar and it seemed to take a lot of time and waving to get the attention of the bartender. One never turned around from the interior of the bar, and the other one was counting bottles and doing inventory. It only got better as I tried to engage them.  The brunette (one that served me) was more friendly and able interact).

I ordered the Crispy Pig.  It is a  slice (about a 1/4 inch thick) pork loin, fried with pickles, cheddar, and roumalade sauce on a french roll.  It was actually very good.  I got tots, but you could ask for fries.  I was very happy.  Food came out fairly quick (quicker than the beer).

I ordered a few drafts.  It was a fairly pleasant experience, but again service could be much better.  Apparently the more you visit the less attitude the servers have.

We were looking for a lunch spot and had this on our list.  We took a leap of "yelp" and stopped at this place.  Doesn't look like much from outside, we were very pleased and happy with our choice.  I had the hamburger, man that is a tasty hamburger, really fresh and I tasted just the meat, man this is one of the best burgers I have had.  The homemade potato chips, called bleu & white chips are outstanding.  We also had a BLT very very tasty.  Nice surroundings, couches to sit on  very comfortable.  Very very nice place Great for lunch, Can't wait to go back.  and I got $5 off with my yelp check in.   please go

This would be bumped up to 5 stars if it were a little cheaper, but we came here for the awesome flat screens everywhere (hey, gotta watch the Olympics!) and for dinner and beers. It did not disappoint, service was really sharp and the beer list is solid. We liked our sandwiches a lot- we can vouch for the wahoo and the lump crab meat.

There are also a few easy chairs with built in cupholders that were pretty awesome. I would visit again if I were back in Galveston.

We went in for a late lunch.  Friendly service. Hot, tasty food.  Our party had soft pretzels, wedge salad with crispy chicken, baby back ribs and the yard bird sandwich and all items were excellent.
Prices good for resort town.  Also the $5 Yelp check in coupon worked great!

This place had a pretty cool atmosphere and is in a good spot. The place was however a major disapointment when the food showed up. Everything was over priced in comparison to the grade of food that showed up. I could have done better staying home with a Stoeffers TV Dinner.

I guess you could point to the fact that I ordered a Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich but the fact that they used what seemed like warmed up roast beef deli meat should make them embarassed not to mention the horrible bun the sandwich was made on. The pizza also was worse than a Pizza Hut/ KFC drive thru personal pan pizza or one of those Five dollar pizzas from Little Ceasers.

The service there was also in bad shape.

I like it here better than Joe's Crab Shack next door. The food is awesome and it is a  great place to knock down a couple of brews! Our waitress and food was on point. The wife and I both had Fish & chips and was delicous and filling. Having a view of the beach was a plus to this place. Will be back when I visit Galveston again.

In a bubble where Bud Light is the beer of choice, dinner here was refreshing. The beer list is the broadest I think you'll find in the area... though, upon closer inspection, I noticed too many repetitive beers (eg, Purple Haze, Shock Top, Blue Moon, Hogaarden ALL on offer) for a moderately sized beer list, but there are some surprises mixed in, and you have the option of ordering in 16-, 22oz, half-bong, or full.

We sat on the patio, which is a nice open-air option; though they inexplicably had an eye-catching bonfire lit, and with the lack of breeze last night, it unfortunately contributed an uncomfortable amount of heat. Our waiter looked like the gardener from Desperate Housewives. (Cutie!) And did a good job with our large party... especially considering we arrived at different times and sent him back to the kitchen multiple times for requests.

Basic bar food on the menu. Our table shared a plate of fried zucchini curls -- definitely more fried than zucchini on these. I got the fondue burger, and wasn't prepared for the magnificent size of this meal... the burger extending the length of the plate. Wolfed it all down, and enjoyed -- swiss cheese with caramelized onions and mushrooms, and a little garlic mayo. You can choose tots or fries, and I did the former, having read a Yelp review that raved about them. I thought they were average though, and would probably pick the fries (which have a nice Cajun seasoning) next time.

    Good:
    Dog Friendly Patio
    Decent beer selection
    Right on the water

    Bad:
The service - I had to ask 2 different people, twice each, to get crackers for my soup
The busboy delivered food to us that we did not order - and tried to tell me the potato soup was onion soup - i just "didn't know their recipe".
Had to constantly ask for water/coke refills
Seated without silverware, served an app without silverware or napkins.

I will only return if I am desperate for a place to bring my dog with me.

The service is good sometimes and not so good other times, just kind of depends on the day and who you get.  Love the beer towers and sitting out on the patio overlooking the gulf!  Great location!!  My Dad was hoping to get their footlong chili cheese dog, but they took it off the menu, a bit of a disappointment but most of the food there is pretty good, so he quickly moved on to the meatloaf sliders which were a huge hit at the table.  We ordered the man cave wings as an appetizer and those were amazing as usual, but Mom ordered them as her entree and she said they were cold and tough.  I will say that's pretty unusual for this place, so my rating doesn't reflect that.  Overall the experience was fun and the food was good!  We'll be back as we always do when we come into town.  I recommend the meatloaf sliders, the man cave wings and their angus pizza.  Enjoy!

I love the place. Sit down in a bar outside, but still if feels outside of the opposite.

Drinks and beer prices are good. However. we order to starters, cheese and proscuto to go  and when we got in the hotel and open the containers ( we ordered two of the same), it looked that it came from 2 different restaurants. One of them was so small portion, almost not proscutto. The second one much bigger size. Now, for the price of $10 is no much.

    A little dissapointed

'Twas a lovely and hot summer evening, and I was hankering for a burger. My friends convinced me to experience Brick House Tavern and Tap on Seawall, assuring me I'd find a great one there. Seating is indoors or out; I hesitated about dining alfresco because of the warmth. But I was drawn by the view of the Gulf and found the outdoor seating to be delightful. The place was lively and noisy but not overcrowded on this weeknight. Patrons were of all ages and genders; this is not just a guy bar. The large indoor seating area was open to the elements when we were there, but it can be closed when weather demands. There is an outdoor fire pit which we did not need in July, but will be delightful when cooler weather returns.

We selected draft beers from their extensive choices, offered servings from large to gargantuan. They also have many native and imported bottled beers and there is a good wine selection as well. To go with our beer we tried the "Blue & White" appetizer, homemade and nice thick homemade potato chips with toppings of blue cheese crumbles and white queso. It was sinfully delicious.

The menu offers much more than burgers, but I stuck to that choice. They are available in a variety of preparations and sizes to suit any appetite. I went with a "one brick XL", simply adorned. The side choices are quite varied--including broccoli!-- but I chose fries. The burger that arrived was definitely enough for a large appetite, or for two smaller ones if someone is inclined to share. I dare you to try a XXL or XXXL!! It was served on a toasted rectangular bun which I found to be a bit messy to navigate (my lettuce and tomato kept falling out--and I'd had only half my beer). The burger was thick and well-flavored good, if a bit dry for my taste. The fries were crispy and thick enough to be potato-y, quite good.

One of my friends ordered fish and chips, another favorite bar-type staple. The fish was fresh and firm in texture, and battered very lightly. He didn't talk much while eating because he enjoyed it so much.

Despite our better intentions, we decided to experiment with dessert. The Apple Crumble with vanilla bean ice cream was served warm, with apples that were tender-firm. The crumbles were a little mushy. It was tasty if one likes such desserts, which I definitely do. But it's not their strong point.

Brick House is a nice addition to Seawall dining: a beautiful view of the water, a relaxed and casual atmosphere, and service that is quick and friendly. The menu is extensive, ranging from breakfast to burgers and salads to steak. Servings are quite large so I recommend you show up hungry. A great place for an informal meal.

At 7pm-ish on a Saturday night, we wondered why there wasn't an hour-long wait here like all the other restaurants on the Seawall and on The Strand. We found out why! We were seated and our drink order was taken right away: 4 adults, 3 kids and one non-eating baby. We ordered 4 waters, 1 beer, 1 mixed drink and 1 lemonade. The waters and lemonade came out in a reasonable amount of time, but it took 35 minutes for a bottled beer to arrive, and another 5-10 for the mixed drink. We also ordered 2 appetizers... Those never arrived. When we hit the 45 minute mark, we asked to see the manager. He disappeared for 15 minutes. When we'd finally decided we'd had enough, the manager appeared at the table with 2 appetizers and a "what do you expect me to do about it?" attitude. All of the adults in our party felt like he acted like he was doing us a favor.

Look, I can tolerate A LOT and it takes a lot to get me to the point where I want to complain because I know stuff happens and places get busy, but when I saw tables around us who arrived after us were getting their drinks and appetizers and my one bottled beer still hadn't arrived after 35 minutes, I definitely reached the end of my rope.

I don't know if it was our server (who didn't seem to understand that my nephew wanted a hamburger for dinner. She asked if he wanted it as an appetizer?) or if it was the kitchen or both, but I think we found out why there wasn't a wait to be seated!

Galveston has a new, hot spot on the Seawall! I was surprised to hear that they opened a location here on the island. The location on HWY 290N is pretty awesome so I thought it was a brilliant idea to have a Brick House in Gtown. I'm sure it will attract a lot of visitors. Definitely a great choice to meet up friends to watch a game or take on their beer towers.  The place looks great and I'm looking forward to coming back and enjoying that beachfront view.

    Good for its:
    + drinks and bar food
    + indoor/outdoor bar seating
+ comfortable seating for dining inside
+ eye candy of a staff
    + Happy hour
    + beer towers!
    + beachfront view

    - Happy hour ends at 6pm. I wish it was a 4-7pm HH

Came out on Memorial Monday and were the first customers to arrive.
They had a team of hardworking people setting up the place, lots and lots of workers.

Within minutes the whole place filled up, inside and out. We sat outside and faced the seawall, wonderful view! Great place to people watch.....and the waitresses alone are fun to watch. Keke.
Since we rode up here on our bikes we couldnt really drink....and it was just barely 11am.. we shared the deviled eggs $4. Delicious and perfect for the price. You get 5-6 of em, forgot. Our cute waitress Mallory was a doll. Excellent service and a delight to chat with.

We wanted to have a beer but we just couldnt convince our brains to do it.
Hung out for 30-45 mins and took off for a joint with something lighter to eat than what they offered.

    Shall definitely be back.
I think they should have set up their motorcycle parking lot a little bit differently. Kinda like....in front more...like The Spot.
Their floors are horrible. Very very very very very slippery. terrible choice whomever designed it.

Brick House is brand new located on the Seawall. It's great location will support anyone looking for a sports bar with attitude. Over 20+ flat screen TV's located everywhere including a couch potato area. There also is a large outside seating area and bar including a decent size fire-pit.

We had the opportunity to visit while in the testing stage and the food was complementary but limited to a few selection. A shared appetizers (Zucchini Curls) and four choices of entries. (Fish and Chips, The Kobe Beef Burger, Drunken Pork Chop and Mahi Sandwich)

The Fish and Chips was a Sam Adam based beer batter which was delicious. The Mahi Sandwich was blacken and grilled to perfection, but was missing one thing, taste. It was missing the sauce. The tots were golden and brought back memories on school lunch in a good way.

For the regular menu, there are two. The food menu which has a good selection of appetizers and entries including a Kobe Beef Burger. Not designed for our vegetarian friends. The bar menu had a impressive selection of brews including 4 foot table beer bongs.

This bar is really geared to the male audience. Waitresses are cute and dress in half shirt and mini short, Gary. Nice! They do support Wifi devices.

Restaurant ***** (Location, Layout and Parking)
Food *** (Only based on the limited menu)
Bar/Beer **** (Selection, Cold and Bongs)
Service ***** (Friendly, Attentive and Willing to Satisfy)

    Happy Trails!
