Fun atmosphere, great beer selection and generous portions. Split the calamari, worth a try just for the two great sauces. Turkey burger was cooked just right and her nacho salad was delicious. Fun place to enjoy a game on one of the many TVs lining the walls. Excited to try it in the summer and sit outside.
Review Source:I have been here a couple of times and, although the acoustics are annoying, I found service and food acceptable. Today to took a group to lunch and purposely went at 12:30 to avoid the lunch rush. The wait staff were dismissive, service slow and food inconsistent. My burger, surf and turf was cold and dry. They completely forgot part of the sandwich. Only two other tables occupied. No excuse.
Review Source:I haven't really experienced the food at the Brickyard, but I've been there a few times for drinks with friends. Â Their beer selection is better than the average wmspt bar. Â They have the staple tap beers, and a decent selection of micro brews to choose from. Â The wait staff is friendly, and the bartenders seem to be fairly competent. Â
The place itself is a trainwreck. Â The tables are gigantic dark wood monstrosities, and entirely to high for anyone who isn't a viking. Â The overall decor is a poor ripoff of TGI Fridays with an eclectic mix of garage sale items. Â Behind the bar is a wall of identical cups that adds nothing to the visual appeal of the bar area. Â
There is outdoor seating which is really nice on a summer night. Â It's too bad that it overlooks poorly done flagstone work, and at the end of the corridor in which it is located are the ugliest water features I've ever laid eyes upon. Â Basically piles of rocks with kiddy pools in the middle. Â
I still haven't figures out why it's call the brickyard. Â I don't really see the bricks, or the yard...
One of the top five burger meals I've had in my entire life. That's saying something because I'm in my fifties. Â Check out this description-
Cajun Burger- Blackened with andouille sausage, cheddar cheese & smoked paprika ketchup ($10.99).
The burger was perfectly cooked and juicy. The bun was firm enough to hold up to the juices and not too big. Â I hate it when the bun overwhelms the burger. There was tons of andouille sausage and the gourmet ketchup was excellent. Â In case you haven't guessed, it's spicy!
This burger comes with a side of house-cut Cajun fries. Â If you're going to have a burger this good, frozen fries aren't going to cut it and these folks know that. Â It's the perfect accompaniment.
To add to this amazing meal I choose an Ithaca Flower Power IPA from a very good beer list.
These folks have other choices on the menu but they say that they specialize in burgers. Â I believe it because this was one fine sandwich!
In town with family (all of us had grown up in Wmspt) walked in the door at 12:30am, some traveling in from other countries. We were looking to go out somewhere new in Wmspt. and spend $$$. Walked in to a FULL bar: great vibe, lots of energy, every seat was taken. The GRUMPY staff turned on FULL lights at 1:30am and kicked a FULL BAR of patrons out the door. At this tIme my brothers and I had full beers. A disgruntled barback very 'hospitably' dropped a barstool DIRECTLY next to our table to "signal" it's time to go. Knowing PA bars don't close until 2am I sought out the manager to confirm what time the bar closed. I advised him he just kicked out a full bar and that he's got another half hour of revenue (which having run bars in Philadelphia and AC I know there is a potential to make 30% revenue in that last half hour). His response to me was "yeah, so."
Bartenders not interested in making tips in the last push ignored any remaining guest. They were too busy burning ice and giving everyone on the other side of the wood the stink eye.
I guess the owners aren' t in the business to make money and have trained their staff to go out of their way to be rude to their paying guests.
For Williamsport, the atmosphere is a step up, but unfortunately the service is still small town.
Revisited and adding a star.  I love the atmosphere here, agree that is a little pricey. To be fair, the portions are very generous.  This time, we had a fish sandwich (huge) and hamburger - split and shared them.  We asked for very light seasoning on the fries, and they were much better this time. Visited  on a quiet Saturday afternoon, staff, as always so friendly. ICE COLD Blue Moon was fab - can't wait to go back.
Review Source:We've been here a few times now and each time has been a bit different from the time before. Â Random notes from our experiences:
*The noise level is awful here, even when it's not full. Â There's nothing to muffle the sound and it is quite hard to converse as a group w/more than 2-3 people in your party. Â
*The beer list *looks* like it's impressive, but you'll get better beer selection at Kimball's. Â The only harder to find beer we've found was Green Flash. Â The rest are pretty standard fare: Â DFH, Victory, Troeg's.
*Speaking of beer, they evidently don't clear/clean their lines when kegs are changed. Â Here's how we discovered this. Â Before coming to dinner, I'd checked online and saw they had Elk Creek's Poe Valley Porter on. Â When we arrived, it wasn't there, but DFH 60 was. Â My husband ordered a DFH and immediately said it tasted "weird", as did our guest who'd ordered the same. Â I tasted his and knew exactly what the issue was. Â They'd tapped it where the Elk Creek had been w/out cleaning the lines, so it was essentially an IPA w/a porter infusion. Â That's terrible practice and definately turned us off.
*The food is decent enough: Â I dig the Pickled Egg and Pancetta Salad, as well as the sliders. Â The fries are seasoned w/Old Bay, so if you don't like Old Bay, you won't like them. Â
*Service is acceptable. Â Not going to blow your mind, but fine.
*As w/their sister restaurant, Barrel 135, the prices are high, but not warranted. Â It seems they set the price to be "high end", rather than having their food, atmosphere, service be high end to then warrant the higher price point.
Just ok. Â
I've just noticed a lot of the reviewers mention the prices. Â As a baseline, we paid $100 for a wonderful meal for the two of us last evening and didn't bat an eyelash because it was $100 food/service (at a comparable style restaurant in an even more rural setting). Â Brickyard/Barrel....not even close.
This place is awesome. Â Great food and one of the BEST selections of different beers in our area. Â They have 12 different draft beers on Tap. Â The food is good and I have tried something different each time. Â The atmosphere is great and they get a large crowd on Friday, Saturday nights. Â During the week in the summers they will have a band outside in the courtyard and NO COVER! Â By the way the courtyard is amazing and if you like to eat and drink outside, this is the place to be!!! Â They just started a late night menu, so they serve food up until midnight. Â They have several TV's and will show the regions favorite sporting events. Â They also have Buzztime if your into playing trivia games!!
