My husband and I went here to see Michale Graves play. Bought our tickets online, and  could not wait for the show. The bar here is really incredible, and since the tickets said the doors opened at 6pm, we were happy to get away from the kids for the night and have some drinks.
Unfortunately, what we didn't know was that there was going to be SIX local bands that would be playing before Michale Graves. It wasn't on the ticket or anywhere else for that matter. Had we known ahead of time that the person we went to see wasn't even going to be gracing the stage until midnight, we wouldn't have even shown up.
I can't say anything bad about the bar or the service, though. While it is a total dive, we were very comfortable during the "show", the prices were unbeatable for what we were drinking, and the bartenders did right by us giving us a free drink for being steady all night long.
I'd go back, but I'm glad I'm a bit wiser to how they do things!

If you're looking for a dive with a great band setup, this is the spot. The drink specials were great too.

Was here on 5/25/12 to see a band Pyramada. The band was awesome. If you are in the NY/NJ area you should check them out.  Here is their facebook page

The bar on the other hand is alright. Drinks pricey and slow on getting a refill.
Other than that great place for live music.

So many of my friends' bands have played here, and its nice to know that Jacko still runs a tight ship. Totally local, totally dedicated to local shows and touring gigs. This bar has a lot of room, a great stage, and a great vibe. One of the best places to catch a local show in Monmouth County. The loyal fan base would agree!

It's size is part of it's charm.

I went to The Brighton for the 1st time last Saturday and saw Local H and The Dig.  First impression was wow this place is small.  Second Impression was wow it's loud and here, Third impression was what?  I can't here you?  Fourth impression was ringing in my ears.

Seriously this place is loud, I see a ton of shows and it was the loudest live music I have ever experienced.  I could deal with it but my guest could not and was complaining about ringing in her ear the next day.

I enjoyed myself, I love The Dig and would see them anywhere and Local H was better than I expected and loud as hell.

It's a nice little Venue.  With plenty of parking in a strip mall across the street.

One of the Jersey shores best kept secrets. I've been going there since I was 16 to video tape bands, and when I finally turned 21 I became a regular back in the early 90's. The place has gone through some changes through the years, but still managed to keep it's roots firmly planted in the local music scene. Jacko one of the booking agents has deadicated his life to providing bands of local and national status a place to perform as well as supporting the local music scene. I recently just moved back to NJ after being away for 15 years and it's great to see so many people there that I've known for years still going there to perform and see local talent. I give this place 10 out of 5 stars for still being there after all these years.
    ROCK ON!!!!!!!!

I love coming here. Its a small live music venue. I have seen Far From Finished, US Bombs, Sasquatch and the Sickabillies and Captured by Robots.  There is a cool experimental band that plays here alot called HNRY WRMS. After the show go to the Windmill for hot dogs and cheese fries at the end of the street. Uncle Floyd played here recently and I missed it ;(
