I could have sworn that I wrote this when it was more relevant, but I digress.
Okay, so I went to Brothers Bar and Grill on my birthday 12/31. It was also during the festival Snowglobe, and I was excited to have a nice steak on such a festive day for me. The steak was delicious. I mentioned it was my birthday, but nothing free (which is okay, I am not a freeloader). I paid, tipped, my bill was quite a bit of my birthday money, but I was okay with such a good steak.
After the festival, I wanted to go for a drink with the last of my money. I went back to Brothers, since it was right by the house I was staying in, and paid for two drinks. I didn't have a dime to my name after paying for the drinks, so I did not tip the second time (but I tipped generously the first time, so I didn't think anything of it). The bartender talked mad shit about me not tipping TO the customers, who also had some nasty things to say. What a rude attitude. The attitude and the fake-niceness to get $$$ is just atrocious, and the taste of the food can't make up for that. I probably won't ever go here again, and if I do, I will pull a Mr. Pink and not tip. If you are a business, don't be rude to people who have spent their entire birthday money in your establishment, and maybe when they say it's their birthday, give em a shot or at least give them a break when they don't tip you the second go-round.
Stopped here on our way out of Tahoe for a quick bite. Â I got the Rueben and Tater Tots. Â Was okay...was $9. Not the BEST quality, but it's a bar! Â I got a Newcastle in the bottle...I think it was $4.....average bar in Tahoe prices. Â I do like that they had TV's on, so I got to catch part of the Giant's game... It took a few minutes to be acknowledged, which is irritating when you're starving and thirsty, but the service did get better as our visit went on. Â I would come here again.
Review Source:Although their schedule listed live music, upon arrival we were disappointed to be told "uh we cancelled this weekend". Stayed anyways and sat in a backyardish outdoor dining area. Staff was very friendly, albeit a bit disorganized. Crowd appeared to be 80% local (many congregating at a set of tables separated from everybody else, which allowed them to have their local fun). Huge list of snacky-snacks on the menu -- tried their deep fried jalepeño slices (aka "bottle caps") and their chili `n cheese tater tots -- very competently prepared and perfect with several cold frostys.
Waiter disappeared about halfway through our stay, and then reappears some time later. When paying our bill he commented that he had actually gone off duty and was just taking care of some odds and ends. Unfortunately, between him and the actual waitress our bill got screwed up and we figured out later we had been charged for an extra round.
Annoying but not the end of the world; we'll probably be back.
Brother's is a great spot in South Lake Tahoe. Â I stopped by last Sunday morning, the drink special was a small bloody mary (good!) and a small beer...for $3.50! Â I couldn't say no. Â That drink special combined with a great bacon and egg breakfast makes this my go-to spot when I'm looking for breakfast with a side of Hard-A. Â The vibe is great, new owners have definitely stepped up the vibe and service. Â I'll be back!
Review Source:We just got back from a week long trip in Tahoe (July 2012) and decided to have breakfast  before riding bikes at Camp Richardson. We ended up going back with friends for a night out!
Drinks are perfectly priced. Great deals for happy hour and specials. Bloody Mary's are great and you can ask for a Clamato Bloody Mary too. Â The food was fantastic as was the service and the friendly bartenders and owner!
It's a very clean sports bar and with sports on TV and music overhead. Out back is the best part. An awesome fire-pit with hardwood picnic tables w/umbrellas. Â Then they have a ping pong table, horseshoe pits and they allow you to play beer pong. Â Basically, they have their own backyard!
The patio is super nice and clean, lots of nice lighting and they have a bar outside, so I'm sure at times when Tahoe is packed, so are they.
The clientele are all ages.
Again, the staff was a lot of fun! I will go back again.
The friends and I ran up to Tahoe on Saturday on the bikes and stopped here for lunch. Aw some chicken sandwich and the potato salad was great. Service was great and the staff is very friendly. So Sunday took the wife back up to Tahoe in the convertible and we ate here again. Great Cesar salad. We split it and they brought it out on 2 separate plates without asking or charging us extra. We like this place and recommend anyone in South Lake Tahoe stop by and have a drink and some food.
Review Source:Brothers Bar & Grill has THE best breakfast, tacos, bloody mary's etc. Very friendly staff and a very comfortable atmosphere. We came here this weekend after snowboarding and only wanted to grab a drink and lunch but ended up staying for several hours because it's so fun and friendly! The new owner has done something right-great food, reasonably priced, great outdoor patio.. I LOVE BROTHERS!!!
Review Source:Jason and I both ordered the Black Diamond sandwich which is a grilled chicken with Aioli pesto, lettuce, tomatoes and onions. Considering the place is mostly a sports bar (sports on all 5 screens, plus beer pong tables on request), the menu is amazingly diverse and sophisticated. The venue could use a little maintenance in the bathrooms and other small details but it is a recession in a tourist town. I suspect I would spend more Sundays here if I still lived in town.
Review Source:On our way out of town we were desperate to not do the usual pizza at Round Table. Thankfully we drove past Brothers Bar & Grill and decided to circle back and give it a try. The indoor area is pure bar with some bar stools and tables with the game blaring on several big tv's. There are several picnic tables outside in a nice little fenced in outdoor eating area. Our waitress was nice, service was fast. A few men (?) came over to check on us a couple of times. The food was good, hot and plenty of it! Â If you want a good burger or hot appetizer give this place a try!
Review Source:After ALONG night of partying w/ some friends from out of town we all came to the conclusion we needed 2 things 1.) a bar 2.) amazing break fest. I knew this would be the perfect spot! We rolled in w/ six girls hungover, hungry and thirsty for some bloody marys! The outdoor seating was perfect ( who wants to sit inside w/ Tahoes beautiful weather?) I ordered the steak and eggs and i was so happy they cooked my steak to perfection. When ever i order med rare its always over cooked. We were all very satisfied w/ our meals and drinks we came here the next morning after round 2 of partying.
Reason i gave it a 4 and not a 5 is because my BM was a bit to salty and not enough spice.
Overall love this spot, the night seen as well is awesome.
"kick ass!" I'm in town from Chicago... don't usually rate a place unless something just hits home! Randomly stopped in for lunch, ended up sitting down and striking up a conversation with a guy, who ended up to be the owner.. Just super friendly! Gave me tips on where to go in the city and gave me recommendations on other spots for food and fun.:" I tend to be a hard critic when it comes to food and the burger just kicked ass!!!!"
Also the atmosphere was chill but fun... everyone seemed to be smiling and having a good time... I like places that make me feel welcome right from the beginning. I have worked in the service industry for 10 years in everything from high end nightclubs, bistros, local pubs, and country clubs, so I really know what proper service is supposed to be.. this hit it on the head! Â I will definitely be back and send anyone I know their way! Â

Far cry from the old brothers we used to love....while the wanna be hooter bartender had what may have been a meaningful conversation with a coworker i sat listening to a baligerant fellow next to me for at least 15 minutes waiting for a freakin drink after a hard day of work, Â The waitress kept telling the guy next to me to go take a nap and still i didnt get noticed till she was done sobbing about her precious nails and maybe her shirt just wasnt small enough i dont know...but i do know i will not return here anytime soon
Review Source:There's not a lot in Tahoe that isn't plasticky touristy, so Brothers gets a five just for being a place that isn't tricked up to suck in suckers.
Prices are reasonable, service is friendly, decor is interesting without being distracting. On a nice day, the outdoor seating is terrific...even when it's cold, it's nice to have a place to smoke and drink at the same time.
Never tried the food, but it looks all right. Nothing in Tahoe really rocks my boat foodwise other than the Red Hut, though.
I love Brothers. They have the best bloody Mary's and Mimosa. The new beer garden make the back patio so fun to relax All Day. Sounds like trouble, it is. They have horseshoes, beer pong and at night a sweet fire pit. When I was last there they had a live band playing in the back yard. The prices are great. The homemade soups and dressings are gourmet. My favorites are the Reuben and the Crab and Steak dinner for $14.99. Steal.
Review Source:I'm a bit of a beer snob, and this bar is not for me. I gave it a three because, that aside, it's a decent place. In the winter there's the snowboard crowd that I dislike.
That aside, food is decent and I seem to remember a good happy hour. I don't spend a lot of time here, so I only suggest to go in with other options in mind. I think there's horseshoes in the summer. If so, that's pretty cool.
i'm only going to go with a three star review for you, Brothers.
Friends of ours raved about this 'bar and grill" so of course we decide to check em out!
The waitress was very friendly, told us all about her DUI (huh?, you cant make this shit up) the drinks were just ...OK'ish and 79.00 for five cheeseburgers and fries is a bit much for a bar and grill..doncha think?
I'm not saying that it was bad - but when the cook comes out and places my husbands burger in front of him and says "best burgers in town", well I expect just that!
These were along the lines of Denny's to be honest...and when comparing a burger like this at Denny's well, i'd have probably rated higher.
I guess I just expected better, this was simply average...
love this place always have a good time here everytime I visit TAHOE.
I was here on fri. and they were having a snowboard competion in the backyard! Big ramp with rails and all kinds of other features. I saw that they do these things on wednesday's and sat. normally, but I must of lucked out. Food was really good and not overly expensive. Once again love this place!
Brothers has an extremely varied clientele. Â Honestly, you never know who will be there. Â However, their deck is awesome and they have some good specials. Â The food isn't bad and it's one of the only paces in town that serves food after 9 pm. Â It's also hangover recovery central on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Review Source:My husband and I like to frequent this place during football season. Â Great specials on Sun & Mon night, .25c wings, normal bar food, but good. Â It's known as a "biker bar" or so I've heard. Â It is actually decorated very nice for a bar. Â The only thing is they don't turn down commercials so it's really loud. Â I recommend it! Â It's really a place for all types.
