Brothers Bar & Grill

Popped in for a quick bite after a long day and there was a comfy couch just waiting for me to plop down on. It took everything not to stretch out and search foe the remote. It had that homey feeling which I don't find in places back home.

Order the French dip sandwich and it was pretty yummy especially the au jus which was almost like beef gravy. For a local 'dive' I had a good experience. I got a bit loud cause the wilds we playing but hell - that's hometown spirit.

A friend and I visited Brothers Bar and Grill for a weekday lunch. The parking was a little problematic - there is a large empty parking lot adjoining the restaurant; however, it belongs to Perkins and apparently vehicles of non-Perkins patrons are towed  from it regularly. Metered street parking, if available, is the most convenient. The restaurant is relatively new so the interior is bright, clean, and updated. There is bar seating, high tables, low tables and booths. Our server was attentive and professional. Our food was delivered very quickly and was hot. We had the Chicken Caesar wraps with kettle chips. The wrap was good. The prices are reasonable. I would visit again.

Maybe it's just me getting older but I am no longer content with the sticky floors, boring food, and McGolden poured from keg lines that haven't been cleaned since the last homecoming riot. Most of the bars downtown are in drastic need of a deep clean and some fresh ideas. Brother Bar & Grill is the new kid on the block who has got "the right stuff." A great inviting space which includes a fantastic patio with fireplace, unique menu offerings at reasonable prices and a decent beer selection that doesn't taste like it was poured from an old boot. Like most new places the service still needs some time to mature but this place has the potential to be one of the top eateries in downtown.
