I don't understand all the 5 star reviews for this place. Â I ordered the Western hot dog and an order of onion rings. Â Wasn't bad, but wasn't the greatest hot dog I have had in my life. Â I probably won't eat there again unless I am really craving a hot dog and I find myself in the area.
Review Source:Searching for delivery in San Clemente and wanted something new--- Hot Dog delivery- thats different... So we put in our order, 9 hot dogs of various type, tots and chili fries. Delivery was accurate and under the time they told us (we are also right around the corner from them). The hot dogs are not huge or gimmicky--- they are just great flavor. The best for our group (yes we all tried each others order of plain, chili cheese and polish dog) was the polish dog. It had great flavor!. The chili fries are very similar to Der Weinershnitzel (sp). We will definately order from their again!
Review Source:Hands down!!! The best real hot dog and hambger joint in California. I been all over and I am from Texas also. Been in CA for 15 years and this is better than a lot of places in the US. A good real beef old school fresh hamburger. Hot and fresh. No frozen patties, white old school sandwich bread or buns. Chili is the bomb!! And the cheddar cheese is fresh. The owner is super cool and down to earth. My type of dude! We will be back. Only drawback is the place is inside a bar and parking sucks.
Review Source:Just visited Buds for the first time today for a late lunch based on the positive Yelp reviews. Â Yes, it is inside Knuckleheads 21 and older sports bar, which looked sketchy at first, but turned out to be a double blessing! Â Knuckleheads is great! And, the Hot Sausage and fries I had from Buds were perfect! Very good, friendly service. Â I'll definitely be back for more!.
Review Source:Okay, first off, LOCATION. Its kind of hard to find, but here is a hint. Buds in basically INSIDE Knuckleheads Bar. There is a separate entrance around back, but look for the Knuckleheads signage from the street.
Unless you want to sit in the bar, you cannot really eat here. There is a couple of tables outside, but they are in the dingy parking lot, and I dont recommend the ambienceof parked cars and the dumpster.. However, I am a drinker, so I was pretty stoked to sit in the bar, midday, and suck back  a couple of pitchers of Heffy with my lunch partner. Waitress was cool, laid back, but attentive. Brought the beer right way, and an impressive rack of condiments. ( yes, the spicy ketchup is there). Glasses were cold, and thats a good thing.
The food. Oh wow. So worth the trip that people make to check this place out. I had a cheeseburger. Super juicy, done medium. tomato and onions were fresh, crispy. the cheese melted like lava.My friend got the double burger goodness, and the bacon and cheese fries. Everything was super tasty. I have no idea what the seasoning formula is for these burgers, but its frigging MAGIC. I am kind of at a loss for words, so I will just say GO. Go to BUDS.
The menu has hotdogs,sandwiches, sausages, vegetarian hotdogs..... which i hear are the stuff of legend. Prices are insanely cheap, and they deliver. And dont be scared of the bar, either. All nice people, from harley types to surfers and everything in between.Smoking patio, pool tables, and lots of TVs
This burger is surprisingly REALLY good (read: messy)!!! From the outside you'd never think this bar served food... but I was pleasantly surprised. We went for lunch around noon one day... the place was basically empty with the exception of a few mid-day drinkers and some pool table repair men. The bartender was super nice and our food came out pretty quick! The burger is seasoned nicely and is topped with all kinds of good stuff. The spicy ketchup is the bomb.They have a decent selection of beer. I'm definitely coming back to this place!
Review Source:Seriously?  A co-worker called  to make a to go order.  My coworker said the person answering the phone said she was busy with an omlete and would call back.  WTF??? Do they need to get more help to answer the phones and service what was up to now a loyal customer?  (BTW, never got a call back, heck, was never asked for the number.)  Got blown off.  Too bad, we really liked Buds.
Review Source:Now this is a great place and the burger is worth the drive! Â Service is quick and friendly. I will make this "a have to stop" when driving to Orange County from La Jolla.

Amazing hot dogs and burgers. The hot sausage is the best. Plus if you like spicy they have a spicy ketchup..it will knock your socks off!
And they have free delivery...only prob is if you pay w cc you can't leave a tip....the delivery lady is the owners wife she wouldn't accept the tip in cash either
Yep! Â This is the shizzz-nit! Â First, and foremost...the food is good. Â And by good, I mean excellent. Â The dogs here do not disappoint. Â The snap of the casing, the fresh toppings, the quality of the ingredients. Â Their fries are crisp, thin and smack of real potato meets McDonalds (I mean that as a compliment). Â Chili is excellent. Â It's the real deal. Â Haven't yet sampled the burgers or sandwiches, but if they rival the dogs, they must be good. Â
Second, the owners (?), managers (?), whoever it is that always answers the phone (guy) and makes the deliveries (nice lady)...they are what makes local joints the place you choose over anything else. Â Prompt, super friendly, and appreciate your business. Â Once called for delivery after hours without knowing it, and they still took and delivered our order, without hesitation! Â
Third. Â The place delivers. Â I haven't actually ever been to the location itself! Â And for those who may wonder about the quality of delivered dogs, don't be. Â They have arrived hot, buns non-soggy, fries crisp, every single time. Â And there have been quite a few times....
Although the concept is good, the execution is not. We decided to "stay in" and order food in on Saturday and we thought this was a novel concept. While the food arrived in a prompt manner, we both got food poisoning from these hot dogs (or possibly the chili?) Whatever it was, the ingrediants were not fresh and to spend Saturday night and most of Sunday sickl with food poisoning is not my idea of fun. There are plenty of great food choices in San clemente - this is NOT one of them

Â My usual help is in the studio recording their next album and I am home starving but want something filling and yummy. Â I open up Yelp and search for delivery places in SC. Â To my delight and amazement I see...Buds. Â What's this? Â No reviews, just info...? Â Hmmm...I click on their web address and see HEAVEN! Â It's so cheap! Â So I ordered everything. Â I am eating for 3 you know...me, baby in belly, and breastfeeding a 16 month old..........s t i l l.....
They delivered my hot dogs, sliders, chili, and fries. Â YAY ! Â I didn't eat it all. Â Don't worry. Â The hot dogs were perfectly cooked with a pop and the condiments had a lovely crunch. Â I ordered the Chicago style with a Jumbo dog. Â Soooo goooood!
The sliders were sooo meaty and the buns perfectly sweet! Â The meat was seasoned to perfection! Â Oh...and the chili was delicious! Â finely ground beef with spice. Â Oh yeah, a preggers dreams.
They are soooo nice. Â I am so blessed to have hot dog delivery! Â yay!
