Look, if it wasn't for Dave (Main Bar-Tender) I would probably never come back to this spot. I was a true regular when this place first opened (roughly 4 nights a week). Although when new management came in they pushed out all the employees who had a personality/sense of humor. Very corporate feel now a days. 3 Stars due to Dave still being behind the bar, otherwise this spot would be null and void to me.
Review Source:Slow. Slow. Slowwww Service. Â I mean really... 30 minutes to bring an order of fries... at 930 at night? Â Whats the hold up? Â Then another 30 minutes to bring a few more Apps?
The only thing good is their specials.
$2.99 for any pint on wednesday. Â $3 select apps after 10pm any night.
$.60/wing on Tuesdays
The restaurant was a fun spots bar where you can enjoy a meal with friends and family. There were plenty of screens around so everyone could watch a sporting event from their point of view. The trivia game was also available from multiple vantage points.
Although our waitress was a little ditsy, the food and atmosphere was fun.
If you get a to go order check your food before you leave. I have been shorted on my order or it has been very incorrectly put together. Also the staff is never very understanding or willing to correct these mishaps. I used to work at another Buffalo wild wings location and it was definitely was run better than this one.
Also, my entire order this time was made with wings that had obviously sat in the drawer for quite some time because they were all old and dry... not a happy customer. :(
Eh the roomy and I went here on a whim last night because Bender bar was out of wings which is stupid. I mean don't they prepare for these kinds of things and make sure they are overstocked with wings. Well he was the one that said Buffalo has a special like Bender on Tuesdays for their wings so I figured why not. I already knew I was going to be disappointed. Anyway they had a 60 cent wing special and I ordered $10 Blazing hot with a small fry and ranch sauce. Which they charge you for the ranch lol. Anyway the blazing sauce was REALLY good but started to make me gag after a while so I asked if I could change it to hot and they were like yeah. The wait was about 15 or so minutes it wasn't long. When we got in the car I immediately opened mine and noticed how large the wings were.
So I took a bite of one and got that Church's chicken taste. The sauce was really good but their chicken is like Church's dipped in fancy sauces. If I wanted that then I would just go to Church's lol. Their fries are hella small and wimpy looking plus they didn't even give me my ranch sauce that they charged me for. Doubt I'll be back to this place. MAYBE to try a burger or something but not the wings! I truly miss American Deli down in GA. I wish they would expand their business to Texas. Also roomy didn't care for his wings either. He said it's not like he remembers they were.
A friend from work was going to Buffalo Wild Wings to pick up food, and while I'm vegetarian, I saw they offered a veggie boat of carrots and celery as a side for $1.99, so I asked him to grab me one of those. Â When he came back, there was a little bag of 3 carrot sticks and 3 celery sticks. Â Seriously?! Â It was the equivalent of 1 stalk of celery and half a carrot. Â What a bunch of jerks. Â That's less than most wing places give you as a GARNISH.
Review Source:I went only because my TCU Frogs were playing in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl and because my friend up in Ohio said this is the only place he gets his wing fix. But after seeing the reviews of the locations here in Austin, needless to say my girlfriend and I were pretty nervous, but after leaving, we had the biggest smiles on our face!!!
Note: We have been here three more times since we went here on the 29th of December.
First I don't know how this place has such horrible reviews! The service has been spot on every time we have come, nice attentive and will accommodate all your requests. The atmosphere is far from what one reviewer said about it being like an elementary school cafeteria (if that's what they thought it was I would love to have gone to that school). TV's playing all types of sports and trivia as well as an awesome poker game you can request! The food... AMAZING! The sauces TO DIE FOR! The onions rings oh my god! Needless to say we love their food! I have to completely disagree with all the "Go to Pluckers instead!" People because pluckers has NOTHING on this place. Buffalo Wild Wings... I Love You!
We stopped here on our way home from the UT/Baylor game... mainly because it was late and this was the only place that was open. I have been to many other BWW locations and always leave with the idea that I won't be back because of the horrible service. BUT, I can honestly say that I am glad to say we did.
There weren't many people in the restaurant, and we were greeted quickly and seated. Our server came over as soon as we were seated and took our drink orders... I was sure to get my fav, a diet Coke with lots of Cherries YUM!!
We has the Spicy Garlic, Medium and Asian Zing. All the wings were very large and cooked well. The meat was tender and juicy and tasted great.
We will be back after the next UT game.
For such a large restaurant with an equally large bar/patio area I have to wonder who the genius was that decided it would make sense to put in a male bathroom with exactly one urinal and only two stalls. Thankfully it wasn't an issue last night due to the restaurant not being crowded but I can only imagine how bad it is during a busy night.
The other oddity is only hearing the sound from the featured game when I went in the bathroom. I appreciate all the TVs showing so many different games but if your showcase game of the night is on your biggest screens in the bar it would make sense to turn the sound up a bit.
As for the food, it was decent. Boneless wings were $0.60 each with a wide variety of available sauces. I tried the hot and spicy garlic. The chicken meat itself was tender but the breading was a little thick and they went heavy on the flavoring. Thankfully, the 20 oz draft beers were only $3.25 each so I was able to wash down the extra flavor with ease.
So here it is. Â Saturday night UFC. Â All I wanted was the pleasant company of my coworkers and girlfriend...and some wings. Â Unfortunately, the worst service experience of my entire 31 years began with Ariel. Â My friend and I were drinking beer, or rather we would have if we could get more than 2 a piece. Â Ariel maybe topped off our girlfriend's drinks twice. Â We all sat there, drinkless and thirsty, for 45 minutes.
My pregnant girlfriend has a thing for lemon slices so she asked Ariel for a bowl of lemon wedges. Â It must have bothered her to hear this, because after asking THREE effing times about her lemons, Ariel finally brought an empty cardboard bowl. Â What. Â The. Â Hell. Â We started to think she was trying her hardest to see what kind of dumb s**t she could get away with for fun. Â Such seemed her dedication to be the worst server in all of Austin proper. Â
After the fight and a dismal joke of a night of "service" , we just left our money on the table (sans tip) because we figured ole Ariel wouldn't show up to our table to collect the money. Â Upon attempted to exit the restaurant, I felt a forceful tug on my arm. Â It was Ariel! Â She accused me personally of trying to pull a "dine and dash". Â I informed her curtly that the money was on the table.
Wow! I can't believe they let just anybody serve you these days. If you don't like your job find a new one.
(EDIT: Â I went back some weeks later and thankfully, we had a great server. Â Also they were giving away Coronas so THAT put a smile on my face. Â One more star.)
My no pants dance partner and I have been coming here consistently for a year and a half. We love this location! The food is always yummy and the service is always great! Meaghan is the best server in the world and deserves a REAL raise from the $2.13 an hour she gets paid! Since that will never happen, you people should just tip her more than you normally would! The sweetest girl, seriously. Anyway! It's never too crowded/loud like other sports bars even when they are full. Love all the TVs and trivia games! Also always decent drink specials! Ok bye
Review Source:Beer, wings, and football. I love it, but only during football season. No other reason for me to go here any other time.
They have a good number of TVs and show the games on rotation. I always am able to watch my Baltimore Ravens play, which is unusual for Austin.
Service isn't always great, but game days get busy, so I can understand it. Good drink specials and I love the Bloody Marys.
I have to inform you of a few changes here since my last review.
The service has gotten horrible.
I made a phone order and the person on the other end never understood me (she called me Brandy, Stephanie, Wendy and then another name). Â My husband simply wanted their "Cheddar Bacon Burger" and I was argued with because they said they did not sell those even though we saw it online....then, a different person got involved on the phone, still debated me, until they found the mentioned item and had it made. Â Really? Â These people did not know what was on their own menu?
That was truly an annoyance.
Why would we make up a false menu item?
Can someone there get it together? Â Ever?
We also tried the pulled pork sandwich with the honey bbq sauce. Â Their sandwiches come with fries and an enormous dill pickle wedge, (that Snooki would probably love). Â The sandwich was okay but tasted like what you can get over at the Texan Market on Manchaca (they sell theirs for under 2 dollars). Â We wanted to try things other than chicken there to salvage any hope for this place, but at this point, we are all done with BWW. Â
I don't know how this place is always so crowded on the weekends when the service has gotten so bad. Â We had some gift certificates we were attempting to use last week, which was why we had been ordering there, and we were the ONLY people in their around 6 on a school night and we never got drink refills, etc. Â This is just odd and unacceptable. Â There was nobody there! Â There were like 10 waitresses, all sitting at a table, chatting, watching one of the 15 TVs, and it was just silly.
For those of you that love BWW, though, the manager told us that they are implementing a nighttime special. Every night, after 10:30, they will sell their wings for 50 cents. Â So if you are into late nights and like it there than you should go for it.
We won't be going back. Â We just like other competitors too much.
UPDATE: Originally I gave this BWW location 1 star, but I'm bumping it up. Â There has been a significant improvement in service since it opened, and the food has also gotten somewhat better. Â So, three stars. Â Can't give it more than that because you can't use the patio - there's some kind of gross sewage smell wafting up from the ditch on the other side of the parking lot that is seriously unappetizing...
Let me start by saying that my husband and I have frequented Buffalo Wild Wings locations in several cities/states. My husband LOVES BWW (the franchise). We lived at the Fayetteville, Arkansas location during school, and while I usually find sports bars highly annoying, I rather liked BWW. But this location is the worst of the worst. Â The food tastes like it was thawed right off the truck, microwaved, and parked under a heat lamp until delivered to our table. And the food isn't even the worst part of the experience - the service is truly horrible here. We have had servers who were rude. We have had servers who were questionably high and/or intoxicated. But the most aggravating are the servers who don't acknowledge you after you sit down. The last three times we have come in, we were seated by the hostess but never greeted by a server. Ten minutes go by and we have to get their attention ourselves. And we have to ask for basics like water and silverware, and constantly repeat our requests to the server who never remembers our complete order. Ugggghhhhh.
Unfortunately, my husband loves BWW so much that we keep coming to this location because the nearest other BWW is 20 min away. Bummer. My only hope is that they can work on the service and food quality because they pale in comparison to all other locations I have been to. Â My husband is so fed up that he might defect to Pluckers. Too bad Pluckers does business right and so they are always busy.
Why go to an Ohio chain when you can go to Pluckers for better wings, cheaper beer and better service?
I'm just sayin...
Too Expensive. Â Too Sterile. Â Service is hit and miss, mostly miss. Â Seriously, there are a bunch of folks who work at the Little Texas location who just don't care. Â At all.
They don't play sound on football. Â The Blazin used to be good, but now it's dry and just hot instead of holy sh__ hot and tasty. Â I mean, the Wild is better nowadays. Â Imagine a great place you used to love got over commercialized and run by suits and you've got yourself a modern Buffalo Wild Wings. Â I love me some wings, and will go now and again on a Tues for fifty centers, but I just don't enjoy myself like I used to when they were BW3.
But, I guess that's what being a national chain is all about. Â And what is that extra alcohol tax on the bill all about? Â "We don't include it in the price"... Â OK, well, then I don't include you in the places I go.
See you at Buffalo Wild Wings on a rare Tuesday, and Pluckers the rest of the week.
Man BW3 I have liked you in the past but I dunno if I changed or if you did but the feelings just aren't there anymore.... Hell who am I kidding its you. Â
You beer is too expensive, your wings are nowhere near as good as pluckers, your music selection sucks. Â You play music while I am trying to watch football... I HATE THAT!
The only reason you managed to get 2 stars from me is because you have 2 million televisions and a pretty friendly staff. Â I will comeback because I have friends who love your vibe but I am wearing thin on you.
The reason they get two stars: hot french fries....it is hard to say bad things about hot french fries. On the other hand, my wings were lukewarm. Considering that the place was empty it is hard to imagine that they can't get my order out hot. Getting past lukewarm, they weren't cooked right: the fat was rubbery.....as opposed to the dreamy goodness of seriously seared chicken wings. The traditional wild and hot sauces were good, but I would steer clear of the Jamaican Jerk sauce: it was nasty. Â Nice atmosphere: too bad about the wings.
Review Source:Zero personality and way too much going on. Â I am a sports fan and this was a good sports bar but it was impossible to focus on any one game, play poker with on one of their tv's with some other random people in the bar and trying to talk with my friends. Â
It felt like we were sitting inside of a commercial so weird and cheesy. Â The colors were far to vibrant almost like an adult McDonalds. Â Huge on the inside, tons of tables and space but no real life. Â It is a pretty great sports bar but it feels unnatural almost like Dallas. Â I would rather go some where else to watch sports. Â Not to mention it's all the way the hell down south. Â Maybe I shouldn't hold that against it but I have to seeing as how it is competing for my money with every other sports bar in Austin.
Perhaps I would enjoy this bar if I where there to watch one particular game with a group of friends just as interested in that as I.  Even then it would still be a bit difficult with the angle of the tv's but I think it could  be a three star experience at least.  Without my friends talking during the important moments.  Or next time Im down there I might just hit up trudy's.
I have to admit that I am a wing lover & when I found out that this place was opening up I was filled with excitement. Â When I first arrived I was greeted with 2 huge smiles. Â My waitress Anna "Pocahontas" was fabulous. Â She was super chipper, excellent customer service and ALWAYS smiling. Â
I tried their garlic hot, zesty Asian & honey BBQ. Â I honestly could not pick a favorite b/c they were all good. Â
I also had a flavored "spiked" green apple tea & OMG I could have sipped those all day. Â It was sooooooo yummy!
My experience was a A+ and I'm excited to take my 9 yrs old (also a wing lover) to check out this place. Â I was actually excited to come write my review and fave about this place. Â
I can't wait to go back & I hope the customer service is always this fabulous.
Another wing joint in Austin? Â Yes, it appears so. Â But behold, the shining glory of this wing joint is the location - South Austin. Â All I can say is, It's about DAMN time you got here. Â On a personal level, I have a special place in my heart for BW3. Â I met my husband on a date at the 6th street location and always had the best times. Â Granted, I always left 2 sheets to the wind, but all due to sheer happiness that can only be delicious wings and ice cold beers served in mass quantities.
The Stassney location just opened Monday, July 12th. Â They are located on Little Texas Lane, next door to Trudy's. Â The parking lot was incredibly packed and the place itself was bumping. Â I have to say, I love a new opening because their is always a plethora of new staff, clean menus and fast service. Â This held true on my visit, as we were greeted with smiles and asked many, many times if the food was ok and if we were enjoying ourselves. Â
The wings were hot and delicious, including the fries, mini corndogs and naked tenders. Â No complaints from anyone. Â Last night was .50 cent wing night so we indulged in a variety of flavors. Â Just like it should be, no deviations from the franchise I've grown to love.
My only complaint would have to be the a/c. Â It was freezing in there. Â I swear my leg hair grew 2 inches in the span of the time we spent inside. Â Take it down a notch, it is close to 100 outside, and we are dressing for that weather, not the unexpected 60 degrees it felt like inside. Â
So we plan on making this location our new sports home. Â I'm excited to try their to-go since we live so close by and hot wings and fries take-out is like an oxymoron.
