I go into Burgers and Beer often and I always sit at the bar. The bartenders are always very friendly to me. Mike is my favorite. The reason I didn't put five stars is because I constantly see the male manager talking to his employees with extreme disrespect. It makes me very uncomfortable when I'm
trying to enjoy my meal. I would also like to mention the chavelas and the cucumber chalupas are amazing!
Had a guac burger and onion rings. The service was ok, the food was good (loved the onion rings) and the atmosphere is ok. Portions were small (only 4 scrumptious rings), and I'm not a fan of putting your own condiments on burgers. Ala carte fries seems like a rip-off. The yelp price guide says "$$", but $12 for a burger and $3 for fries is the most expensive burger I know for a burger place. A small pet peeve - the bathrooms are oddly designed with the urinals visible from 50' away through the men's door when it was swung open. Weird.
Review Source:Let's just start off by saying, the food is to die for!! Â Hands down my favorite place to go for comfort food. The burgers are big and juicy(but not greasy.) Â They have healthier options, too (like the lo-cal burger or even gluten free buns!) but if you wanna get down and dirty, opt or the lava burger-cheese and chipotle are melting off the dish. Â If youre not feeling the burgers, which theres over 30 different kinds and you can even mix and match to your preference, they offer a wide variety of Hispanic dishes, sandwiches, and even Italian entrees (try the mac n cheese-its amazing.)
Next, I want to say I was so well taken care of at my visit here. My girlfriends and I came for a few beers off their extensive list, and even got a few great recommndations from our server. Chelsea cheked on us repeatedly, making sure our drinks were always full and there were smiles on our faces. The manager even stopped by, making sure we were alright and that the food tasted good. Â A+ for service, you'll definitely be seeing us here again!
I went here with my husband to see what all my coworkers were raving about.
We don't drink, because I could have probably added a star.
Service was very attentive, one star! You have your own TV in the booths, another star!
The burgers were not amazing at all, honestly. Small and fatty. The bun was low quality, just like the patty. The fries were too crispy for my taste.
The condiment tray? The mustard and ketchup bottles had hardened sauce around the cap. I must question the pickled veggies that come out without a lid on....do you guys just top off the pickled when they are running low, or how does it work?
Sorry to say this, but for the fact that you guys charge for the fries, the price of your hamburger + fries comes up to the same as Islands....and let's not be mistaken, Islands is where the quality is!
Sports sports sports sports.
TV TV TV TV TV TV TV TV TV TV TV.
Huge menu. They have more than burgers. There's a bit of a Mexican flair to the menu, in addition to a full page of burgers. (Useful: you can sub a veggie patty in any of the burgers). It's a large restaurant, with a bar and lots of booths and tables. EVERY BOOTH HAS ITS OWN TV. Plus there are probably 30-40 hanging TVs throughout he place.
They're open for breakfast - good for catching early morning football games.
Decent beer selection.
Best sports bar in the area.
Burgers & Beer usually has good service & food for a sports bar-ish type of atmosphere (I've been to both this one & the one in Rancho Mirage/Palm Desert). I like that each booth (except the larger ones in the middle) has a tv so you can put it on whatever you want to watch. The only issue we had was that we went there to watch the Clippers game & were told that they would put the game on. It happened to be the same night as a dodgers/giants game so all of the big tvs had the baseball game on. Which would have been fine except for whatever reason, our tv was linked up to the feed for the baseball game & we couldn't get the channel for the Clippers. Small inconvenience. As to the some of the reviews that complained about the lack of flavor or whatnot, it's basic food. You're not going to get an exquisite meal at these kinds of restaurants. The food doesn't suck & it's funny how people are surprised that the food is like other chain restaurants. Oh, & I find it extremely funny that someone was complaining about the condiments being on the table & how unsanitary that is. She's used to the condiments being on her burger/sandwich already. Uh, in what universe? Go to most restaurants that serve burgers & fries & they'll bring you the bottle of ketchup & whatever condiment to the table. B & B saves the server time by having it there already. I'm sure that person would be the first to complain if the server forgot to bring her the ketchup.
Review Source:Might be a good place to watch a game, but the food is bad and the service is not much better.
My family went here after the other place we wanted to go had a long wait. We had four adults and two kids in our group.
For a strip mall bar the place is well done up with probably about 30 TVs and some tables even have TVs at the table. That is about where the good things end however.
All six of us ordered different things and even the kids didn't think the food was good. The burgers were tastless and the meat they use lacks any flavor at all. Red Robin which is just an ok place is miles above in the taste category here.
As for the beer selection they must have sort of deal with Anheuser Busch as that was the extent of their draft beers other then a couple other options. They do have a good bottle selection, but who wants bottles at a sports bar?
Service was also medicore and lacking friendliness, but having only been there once I can't comment much more on that.
All in all I would pass unless you want a place to watch a game and drink some bad beer.
I was hoping this place would be better than the joke of a Red Robin down the street. It wasn't as frustrating of an experience, it was just a disappointing one.
Instead of your burger/sandwich already having condiments on them (such as: mayo, ketchup, mustard) they bring a platter of the bottled condiments out for you to put on your own food. Umm, hygiene? Do these bottles get sanitized in between customers? I will need my hands to eat my sandwich and fries. So, since my sandwich was already made, I had to take it apart and man handle it. This was just disgusting to me.
I ordered the California Club and a side of beer battered fries and my boyfriend ordered a burger with steak fries, both with a side of ranch. The sandwiches/burgers we ordered were nothing to write home about. I make better sandwiches and burgers at home, which is not why I pay to go somewhere and have it just be edible. I thought the ingredients used were below average. My fries were good and I got a fair amount, however my boyfriends serving of steak fries was pretty minuscule, about 10 fries. A lot less than the other people who have taken pictures and posted them on here. And to top it of, the ranch to dip our fries in really sucked. It was the cheap stuff, either hidden valley or something off brand.. This was probably the most annoying thing to me, biting into that ranch dipped fry and having it be like hitting a bankrupt on the wheel of fortune. So I used ketchup instead.
This place is open later than most around in this crotchety town and there are a ton of tv's if tv is your thing. The only redeeming thing to me is the later hours. I'll definitely try something different next time - something I don't have to put my own condiments on.
What fun spot! Â My aunt and I stumbled upon B&B while visiting my grandpa in La Quinta. Â The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Â We were there for St. Patty's so the bartender gave us green beer! Â I had nachos so I can't comment as to the entire menu. Â However, my nachos were great! B&B has a ton of TV's so you can watch whatever sporting event you want while there. Â Happy I found this place!
Review Source:Fast, friendly service. A tad pricey (fries are extra) for the tiny burgers, but worth it since they're super fresh and not frozen. Server was friendly and attentive. Burgers were tasty! Kids meals reasonable and good portions. Would have given a 5 star rating but everything was a tad too pricey. Family of 5 was $95 w tip for lunch. And we only had 2 glasses of wine total (also too pricey at $10 for w glass of KJ Chard.... Though they were generous pours!), 2 kids meals, 1 sandwich and 2 burgers. No view (other than the gigantic tvs everywhere you look). Would be a phenomenal guys day/night out if they're sports buffs! Would defintely return!
Review Source:This is about your average sports bar, but they have a dual-kitchen providing American and Mexican food. My favorite combines both of them: RV Nachos. The burger menu is extensive, and if you don't find what you want you can build your own. The beer list is also quite good, though the staff aren't too knowledgeable about them. They have these extra-large booths for an entire family or sports team even. Many booths feature their own TV.
Review Source:Just had our first dinner ar Burgers and Brew and we were very excited to find this great burger (my favorite food!) restaurant. Â We had the nacho special then two great burgers! Â The manager came by a couple times and showed old style interest in how our dining experience was going. Â The service staff were great as well. Â All in all . . . . great food and service! Â We will definitely go back!!
Review Source:Cool place for Happy Hour.
Value for your money = **** Â stars (Happy hour prices for drinks...awesome. Happy hour food menu, reasonably priced and tasted good - fish tacos & mini quesa D- see photos)
Taste of food = **** stars (they were yummy, tummy-happy)
Ambiance = **** stars (all American burger/beer kick back and relax atmosphere)
Service = **** stars (friendly and prompt)
Parking = ***** stars (plenty of parking)
Popular with tourists and locals.
My husband and I love burgers & beer. We usually go to the one in Rancho Mirage, but occasionally we go to the one in La Quinta. The food is always great. We always order the R.V. Nacho's. It's an amazing combo, the shredded beef, cheese, sour cream, avocados, and jalapeno's, I could never pass it up. While the food is always good, the service wasn't. We went during lunch, It wasn't that busy but a manager was waiting our table. He had no personality what so ever. He checked on us a couple of times; few times we had to flag him down or had a runner help us.
Review Source:Had lunch today, a lot more than "burgers and beer" offered in this great restaurant. Â Had the Rajita (sp) Chicken, Wife had the steak fajitas. Â We could only eat half so we had dinner with the left overs.
Great service and good price. Â Had fish tacos on the last visit and they were very good also. Â You have to try the asparagus fries!!
When I want to grab a burger and sit down to eat it, this is the place. We have In & Out down the street one way, and Five Guys down the street the other way- but Burgers and Beer consistently offers a fantastic dining experience. GREAT burgers, GOOD Mexican food too! Lots of beers on tap, and iced tea served in a pitcher at your table (so you don't have to keep trying to flag down a server to get a refill).
Review Source:My party needed to fuel up prior to Coachella raging, so we encountered this place while perusing Yelp reviews for greasy, less-than-healthy burger meat-type food for carnivores (such as myself). Â The atmosphere is a family friendly-ish restaurant with a great burger and beer selection, along with TVs all over the place - the midwest dream. Â Mexicali burger was bomb, although everything else looked ridiculously awesome as well. Â
Definitely coming back here next year if I happen to prep myself with greased stomach lining for beer tent/Sahara tent debauchery (or sooner/later if I happen to find myself in La Quinta for some odd reason...?)
I've been here twice. I came a second time because the first was so good. Between my boyfriend and I we have had four different items, each being just as good as the last. Prompt service, nice layout with TVs everywhere, and clean bathrooms. Great value for the money. I plan to come back every time I am out this way.
Review Source:I have been here multiple times. Never have been disappointed.
The service is always good, servers are nice, generally prompt, a few times have been a little slow, but nothing to bad.
The burgers are good, a bit pricey for them tho ($8-12) with no fries. The hot dogs are tasty. Sandwiches are good, I have had a few different ones and all have been good. Only complaint was the Ruben meat was a little chewy, but still tasted good. I had the Mexican food once, fajitas, and it was not very good, I just wanted to give the Mexican food a shot since I've had most everything else.
Happy hour is great, 3-6 and 9-11 everyday I believe. $2.50 well drinks or shots, $6 pitchers of beer, $1.50 nachos... sign me up. ha.
Staff is good, food is good, beers are cold.. yes please.
Last but not least: get the RV Nachos, you will thank me later.
Cool atmosphere, good service, great food, nice beer selection. This is a simple restaurant concept executed quite beautifully that offers expansive burger offerings, with great beer pairing options, and plenty of additional menu items that would keep you wanting to come back for more.
Although their burger toppings don't offer some of the more artisan ingredients that you might find in up and coming trendier burger restaurants in Southern California, it still delivers a great quality burger. I had the Lava Burger, which was the Mexicali Burger (patty mixed with Serrano chiles) with cheese and bacon, extra hot. The heat level didn't fail to disappoint. I got a 1/3 lb. Beef patty (a  1/2 lb. Option is available too) which was moist and flavorful. Potato bun was soft but its integrity fell apart half way through, but that was an acceptable sacrifice for a juicy and delicious burger. Fries were not included in the meal, which I might expect with a $10 burger, but still felt like all in all still delivered a decent value and you have the option of steak fries, curly fries, or beer-battered fries. Ordered an Inversion IPA, and a Honey Blonde (brewed by Firestone - exclusively?) providing a refreshing finish that paired very well with the meal.
A sports bar vibe, surrounded by a ton of TVs, even offering personal TVs at most of the booths, gives you a chance to catch any & every sport you'd like simultanously. Service was friendly and prompt. Being a good offering for families, couples, and hungry guys I will definitely be coming back!
Three of my children invited me to Burgers & Beer to celebrate Barry Manilow's birthday or whatever it was on Sunday. Â My first impression on walking in was that the place is incredibly noisy. Â I never changed my opinion. Â The place also appeared to be bigger than the one in Rancho Mirage. Â
Second, there are big flat-screen TVs everywhere, and nearly all of them were showing a basketball game between the Miami Heat and the Oklahoma Humidity or something like that. Â A couple of them were on a golf tournament but they were too far away for me to see from our booth. Â (We didn't get one of the booths that had their own TV that could be switched to the Cartoon Network or whatever else you care to watch.) Â
Guys, here's a hint -- don't take your girl friend here for a date unless she's as into sports as much as you are. Â It's way too noisy for romantic conversation -- you will have to be practically shouting at each other the whole time. Â Save that for marriage, OK? Â You're better off going to some intimate little French cafe' like Le Jaque en ze Boques.
Anyway, fries don't come with a hamburger -- they cost $1.99 more. The beer-battered fries are the item to get. Â I believe they are worth it. Â Other sandwiches come with regular fries, beer-battered fries, or cole slaw. Â Take my advice and get the beer-battered fries. Â I decided on a Philly sandwich, which was OK but had maybe less than 1/3 the amount of meat you would get at Sherman's. Everybody else had hamburgers of one sort or another (and thay have a vast number of styles to choose from). Â They seemed to enjoy them. Â But I got the impression that they thought Grill-A-Burger has better burgers. Â
They have some Mexican items to choose from as well as hot dogs, etc. Â But their main claim to fame is their burgers (as their name implies).
Anyway, it's an OK place but not really one of my favorites. Â If you want noise and probably better food, go to the Yard House.
At first glance the menu is amazing. TVS everywhere. A sport fans dream. Beers for days. I would give it a 6 out of 5 as far as atmosphere. However, the food was a disappointment. The Tuna Melt and the Lava Dog were a letdown and the salads were warm... Seemed like they had been made and just sat out. I had the "Sandra" burger and I was very satisfied. I would definitely go back for a burger. The menu was so large im sure there are many other tasty options. Its called Burgers and Beer. They do those GREAT. The other stuff needs some work but ill definitely be back.
Review Source:American food with a southwest, Tex-Mex twist. Good value, and a wide selection of solid burgers. Had the half pound ($11.28) Mexicali burger which is a patty mixed with cilantro, onion & serrano chili  topped with cheddar cheese (see pic). The burger had a nice spicy kick, and patty was pretty juicy. There are also a lot of different fry options, and had to go with the steak fries. It was a little dry but ok (3 stars).
The happy hour specials (after 9pm) were also a good value. Since I was still hungry after my half pound burger (I eat a lot), I had a chili cheese nachos for $2.50. Not the most generous portion of chili and oozing cheese but definitely worth the price. This place definitely satiated my burger craving and was friendly to my wallet!
Had lunch with my wife here and was a bit skeptical... Let me say WOW! First of all there are like a gazillion tvs here. I had Gary's burger which is their burger with a fried egg. This burger was not only the best fried egg burger I have eaten... It is possibly the BEST burger I have ever eaten... ANYWHERE!
If you are in the LQ then you really got to stop in here and have a Gary's burger with beer battered fries!
If you want Burgers (and of course, Beer), come here!  The burgers are delicious.  The service is really incredible...friendly and fast.  If you request something from a staff member (doesn't have to be your waiter) Bam....you get it...fast!  You want sports...you get that too....Big Screens abound with  little screens at each table.  It's really every guys dream diner....But even we, the ladies love it too! Â
Side note: Â Here is testimony to the staff: Â My husband left his wallet overnight with a relatively large sum of money....Not a penny was touched. Â They even called our home number long distance to alert us. Â Wow!
This is the chain's newest location and is off of HWY 111 in the COSTCO center.
As with the other locations they make a very good burger and have a huge selection of beer.
I had the Lava Burger which was very good. My wife had the Mushroom Burger and she enjoyed it also.
We have been to one of their other locations before and we enjoyed it also.
Highly recommended!!
We tried this today and it was FANTASTIC!! Definitely the BEST BURGER in town!! I have tried them all, seriously!! It was great, cant wait to go back. Big portions too, and great service. The only thing missing is dessert and some shakes, it would be a great addition if they had desserts, otherwise, GREAT GREAT GREAT!!
