Reservations are a MUST! Â Request the dining room as the porch is quite bright. Â Its's very quaint, and Jessica, our server could not have been any more awesome! All the staff were happy to be there. Â Â We completely agree that come for the appetizers and soup. Â We could have skipped the crab cakes. Â But DO NOT miss the Bang Bang Shrimp however. A cup of The She Crab Soup is ample to share due to how rich it is and the tomato basil soup is as well. The Chloe Fries are a must share.
Review Source:Very nice people-waitress friendly and efficient. Â She Crab Soup is great. Â Bang Bang Shrimp is delicious and the size of the portion is ridiculous! Â Entrees good but not great. Â Chocolate Kahlua cake fantastic. Â Would definitely recommend this restaurant as one of the best in the area.
Review Source:The food was fantastic, I had the salmon, my partner had the seafood platter.  We also shared an appetizer of shrimp.  The portions were absolutely huge, too much.  I was surprised it tasted so good considering the size of the portions.  Bring your own wine and enjoy the décor.  We loved it.
Review Source:Cafe Adirondack is one of the hidden jewels of the Adirondacks. They are located in the old Gambel's Hardware store for those of us who have been coming north for over 50 years. They are a southern seafood themed gourmet  cafe. We always make reservations although sometimes you can walk in late in the evening.
Their food is superior, their pricing is moderate, service is efficient and friendly and being able to bring your own wine with no corkage fee makes them the best fine food value in the North Country. Â
Try the She Crab soup, the Bang Bang Shrimp, the Crab Cakes, Seafood Dinner, and the Seafood Fra-Diablo over pasta. We have never had a bad dinner. Going tonight for our anniversary!
One of our favorites in the area. This is where the locals go. Fortunately, it's now open in the fall as well as the usual summer season. Â The chef comes from the South and you can taste it in the food: some of his dishes make you think you're in New Orleans. Â One doesn't usually associate seafood with the Adirondacks, but he somehow manages to provide seafood dishes that are fresh and succulent, not rubbery and over-breaded. Â Seasoning is marvelous. Â It's BYOB; they're happy to provide glasses. Â We go as often as we can when we come up.
Review Source:First of all, this place is VERY popular. Make reservations days ahead of time or take your chances, but it's almost guaranteed: no reservations, no table! Open Wed. - Sun. as of July, 2012.
Excellent food and lots of it, nice staff, great atmosphere. Not cheap -- dinner for 2 cost me over $80 (about 4 trips to McDonald's!) -- but if you're in the area for a visit, you definitely should try to eat here at least once.
I've been here many times and I've never been let down. Â There is representation on the menu from a variety of cuisines, so everyone should be able to find something to enjoy. I usually go with the Bang Bang Shrimp as an appetizer, which is a generous portion, and then one of the chicken dishes for the main course. The servers are always super friendly and attentive, even when managing large numbers of tables.
Review Source:Wow, been going there since they were at the Wells House. Â You will find nothing better in the north country and hard pressed to find better in the region. Â Staff is fantastic. Â Food is unbelievable. Â BYOB and they will uncork and pour for you.
She crab soup to die for. Â Chloe's fries a must try at least once. Â Never have been disappointed. Â I have brought many friends here and they continue to return.
A north country treasure. Â Enjoy it...
