Underwhelming. Took 40 minutes to get our food- we were 6 out if the 11 people in the restaurant. When the food arrived it was warm- not hot. The pickins' are slim in town, so comparatively this place may rank higher for others, but not this out-of-town foodie. Positives: The playlist gets two thumbs up. The server was delightful.
Review Source:I'm always a bit skeptical of places that serve too wide a variety--lasagna and hamburgers and salads, etc. This place was just fine. The atmosphere was nothing special--fairly drab and institutional. The waitress was nice enough, not fabulous. It did a decent business on a Thursday night--there were maybe a half dozen tables in and out while we had dinner. Husband and I both had hamburgers and enjoyed the food. But I judge a place based on whether I would go back, and I would definitely try other restaurants in the area before I went back here. Not because of anything particularly wrong, just nothing was particularly right, either.
Review Source:Great food and spectacular service. Staff is very friendly and take exceptional care of the customers. Â Its not quite what I would call diner food. Â While it has the usual burger and sandwich options, Â it has quite a few other entrees ( like their steak and pasta dishes) that take it to the next level as far as a restaurant is concerned. Â
.....and fried Oreos......what more can you ask for....
Cafe One Ten adds a much needed sit-down restaurant to downtown Oak Hill and provides good food at an affordable price.
As always on my local restaurant reviews I've been here at least 3 times before I do the review just to give the restaurant a good shot and showing it's true potential. Â Overall I have to say that Cafe One Ten is a good restaurant and provides a nice casual diner experience in the heart of Oak Hill.
Food: Â If you're looking for a lot of classic diner fair, this is the place to go in Oak Hill. Â A wide variety of burgers and sandwiches are the main fare on the menu, however there are a few entrees and pasta dishes to add some body. Â Most of the food I've had here has been acceptable to pretty good, but it lacks just a little finesse to take it the level out outstanding. Â The grilled chicken cordon blu and red devil deep fry (their take on a Monte Cristo) have been the two best items I've had so far. Â The salad bar has always been well stocked and been fresh the times I've ventured to Cafe One Ten. Â The main two knocks against the food, has to be the lack of some healthier options on the menu, as well as the food preparation has lacked a bit of finesse. Â The quality is usually pretty good, but a little lack of a seasoning and some missteps in preparation hold it back from being truly memorable and worthy of 5 stars.
Service: Â I haven't had a problem with the service at Cafe One Ten yet. Â The wait staff has kept my drink full, and been fast enough and attentive enough at my travels here. Â I have had a few times with waiting quite a while on food, mainly on nights they're very busy. Â This is to be expected with a new restaurant, but it is worth mentioning. Â I can say from my personal experience the wait staff seems overall pretty knowledgeable about the menu , however I have seen a few instances where tables beside me had questions about the menu the waiter or waitress had to run to the kitchen to get the answer. Â
Summary: Â I wish yelp would allow in between star reviews cause the 1-5 scale is not very forgiving. Â Honestly this is about a 3.5 to 3.75 star place that gets rounded up for being consistent. Â A few tweaks to the menu, the food prep, and dialing the service just a little bit more are the only things holding Cafe One Ten back from a 5-star review. Â At 4 stars, this is a definite recommended place in my book.
