Hey, I have still heard this bar is the BIGGEST dive in Redding!! Whom is this loser man that thinks he is sooooooo hot (when really kind of yucky!)??????? Is it the owner???
I know TONS of young kids and I beg of them to STAY AWAY from this freak!!! PLEASE, if you goto the cascade.....walk further to a nicer establishment....This guy is a NUT CASE!!! If he's really with the Redding City Council  as he says, thats REALLY scary as he treat people like CRAP!!!!! GET HIM OFF OUR STREETS AND DEFIENETLY OFF THE CITY COUNCIL!!!
STAY AWAY FROM CAONES AS THE OWNER OR BARTENDER IS A NUT!!!!! Â HES A NO REASON COP CALLER!!!! LOSER!!!!!!!!!!!!
I like Capones, the ownership here has taken over a dive bar that catered to down and outers and fixed it up. Now it's a pretty cool hipster place, it's got that retro look I like in a bar. The crowd here is fun and lively, more educated than most Redding bars I would say. The drinks are generous, they have nice happy hour, a fair number of good beers on tap. I like the service. They treat you well here. The owner of the bar owns several downtown places now - he has helped re-invigorate the downtown scene, downtown Redding increasingly rocks, you've got foot traffic you didn't used to have, so I applaud the owner for doing that. The community as a whole benefits when you have thriving nightlife downtown, money circulates, people are employed, I think places like Capone are vital.
Review Source:Talk about a dump.  If you want a classy establishment and to be treated with respect, Don't go here.  Jason Burris is classless and has no idea how to truly run a successful business that's stands on its own equity.  Any business he owns will never see 25 years! He keeps stealing from the other  bar to make ends for the this failing bar. People in a redding are so desperate for
Entertainment they will settle for garbage, and swear it smells great! Â That's exactly what you will get From this bar... Garbage. Â Rude, foul mouthed , powering tripping owner who only cares about taking your money, or trying show he has some type of authority, or significance. Try taking a few college courses on business, and maybe pick up a book on etiquette, and how to earn a persons respect, and repeat business. Â Jason Burris is small minded and should stick to tile work, which I understand is mediocre at best.
"Noise level: Quiet" HUH? it's always been very loud, and very crowded whenever I've gone in. the drinks are okay, once you get the attention of the bartender or cocktail waitress. Not a bad place, but just a little too busy for my tastes. Love the decor, but seating is awful.. standing room only doesn't make for a very relaxing atmosphere. I have to honestly say, you can tell the downtown bars that are owned by the same people a little too easily. Not a real "variety" factor here.
Review Source:I lied. Â I actually ended up going back to Capone's after my scathing review and it wasn't half bad. Â The drinks I ordered were much better and we were served much better. Â They must have had rookie angst or something.
The best addition to this place is the new Rico's Taco truck that parks outside later in the night.
On our recent outing on the town the Staler Club of Redding (S.C.O.R.) went downtown to visit a popular bar called Capone's. the club was not disappointed in what we found. We were greeted by a very friendly and personable bartender by the name of Sarah. She got our drinks quickly and to our surprise very affordable. Draft beer at happy hour was only $2. The bar was clean and to our liking very long which allows for seating if you are in a group. The crowd was older which brought a smile to our face and with a friendly outgoing bartender we find this a good place to go in the day. The Stalker Club of Redding (S.C.O.R.) rates Capone's a 4 Â out of a six pack.
Review Source:I went here for the first time last night and had a great time.... The music they played was great, and varied. It was Sunday, and there really weren't very many people there(I think that we were 2 of maybe 8 people that night), but it was still great.
The place is very laid back and comfortable, the ambiance is great, and overall it's very clean. I will say that we were caught a bit off guard when the music stopped and all of a sudden, live music started playing!!! The drinks were very fairly priced and the bartender was great(not to mention, incredibly pretty)!!! I had a great time and will defiantly go again!
I love the low chairs and tables... it's a nice relaxed place to visit and have a nice conversation with people. I like the look of the place too.
I think $15 for a martini and a beer was a little much... even if my glass of beer was $5... $10 for a very weak lemon drop is laughable.
The bartender with the tattoos was the biggest jerk ever (I was also told he was part owner)... I'm a decent looking female, so I don't think it's a gender bias as another person noted... he just seemed irritated to be there and was not friendly what-so-ever.
Something else that was laughable was their VIP section... It's basically a big bench in the back of the bar... why even bother?
So I will probably go there again, and try my best to avoid Mr. I-Don't-Want-To-Be-Bothered-By-You... only because it is a pretty chill place. Come on Kenny, you can do better... even in Redding.
Honestly, I will never walk into one of Kenny's establishments again. I went to meet some friends at Capone's after the Superbowl at about 9:45 pm. I forgot my wallet at home and went inside to tell my friends I was going back to get it, when the owner Kenny walked up from behind the bar and proceeded to bark at me that I could order one drink and to drink it fast and then I had to leave. Apparently they were having a private party (although I must say the place was pretty empty), which I can understand, but if so, please post this outside your business, or politely inform me of this, and I will gladly refrain from giving you my patronage or money. The bartender had already served my friends some drinks so I was waiting for them to finish, but they must have taken too long to drink them, because Kenny seemed to get more irate by the second, until he basically yelled for us all to get out. Seriously, there is never an excuse to be unprofessional when you work in the service sector. Wish I could review the atmosphere, but I didn't have time to see it considering the complete lack of customer service, manners and business sense.
Review Source:Thank you Capone's for sticking to what you advertise - a laid back lounge atmosphere with great drinks and bartenders.
The crowd is older and the ambiance fits the theme of this lounge. I call it a lounge instead of a bar because it has a touch-of-class feel.
I'm a huge fan of the $5 double Jaeger Bombs.
Capone's is a great place to start the night with a group of friends, get loaded on the $5 Jaeger Bombs and maybe a Blue Moon or two, then head out for some more of Redding's astounding nightlife (tinge of sarcasm there).
