The inside of this place is nothing like I thought it would be. It is located in a strip mall of sorts, so I was not expecting the open space inside the restaurant. The decor is pretty nice and they have a large fish tank with some nice exotic fish in it.
As for the food, eh. I had the Waverunner sandwich (lightly fried tilapia) and it was nothing special really. The thing I liked most is that the bread was french bread with some garlic butter on it. I might have been more excited about my lunch if the waitress/cook got my order right. I asked for no onions...and there was a larger than normal pile of onions on my sandwich. It also didn't have tartar sauce on it, causing me to track down the server once again. Paying attention to detail is rather important when it comes to someone's food. The french fries cost extra (you get a sandwich with no side) and they were way too salty.
I would try this place again, but if they don't wow me the second time then that's it for me.
Since my review, Cappo's has went completely non-smoking. Definitely another plus as far as I'm concerned. Although, it seems their pizza is going downhill a bit lately as far as the cheese goes, however, it's probably still the best in town. It would be really nice if they offered a thin crust though. The Italian beef sandwiches are still great and they always have good soup.
Review Source:My wife and I were in the mood for something different this Sunday so we decided to heed her parents' advice and try Cappo's. Â Although relatively busy inside, we were seated lighting fast and greeted by a cheery and very attentive server. Â The atmosphere is very soothing and colorful, and the large fish tank is a nice touch. Â Cozy wooden booths with lots of belly-room for us big fellas. Â We ordered the vegetable sampler which was plentiful, tasty, and tongue-searingly hot. Â Kinda expensive at $12, but you really do get a lot of veggies - plus dipping sauces for each of us to encourage double dipping. Â For entrees I ordered the whole catfish, and she ordered the ribs. Â The fish was huge and very good. Â My wife said the ribs were the tenderest and tastiest she's ever had as she effortlessly pulled the bones out with two fingers like a game of Jenga. Â We definitely plan on coming back. Â Maybe we'll try the pizza everyone is talking about.
Review Source:On a busy Friday night we waited 15 mins for a table, then another 25 for our food. Decent food but not worth the wait- and shouldn't have taken so long for a burger and panini. Small portion of soggy fries too. Waitress was slow and unapologetic. Really disappointed that there was a 1-person men's restroom. Shouldn't have to wait. Also not a fan of the hostess asking how much of a tip we wanted to add to the bill.
Review Source:If you are in the mood to eat reheated frozen food, listen to a toilet flush and yell over the carryout counter all night then Cappo's is certainly the place for you. Since I don't want to experience any of those things again, I won't be returning.
We arrived around 6:30 on a Friday and were given a table straight away. However, the table we were given was next to both the restrooms and the carryout counter. I could not hear my husband who was sitting across from me. The service was excellent which is the only redeeming factor.
We ordered the breaded eggplant for an appetizer. The moment it arrived I could tell it was frozen and deep fried. All I could taste was the breading.
Before our main courses arrived, I asked to be moved to another table. That is the first time I've ever asked to be moved, but it was necessary. Once again, our waitress was very attentive and understanding. My salad was fresh and crisp, but could have used a few more vegetables besides onion.
After seeing the eggplant, I wasn't expecting much for dinner. And we didn't get much. My husband ordered shrimp and fries. Again, you could tell they were both frozen and thrown in a deep fryer. Several of his fries were soggy. I ordered the lasagne and didn't take more than two bites. There was no flavor to the dish at all. The sauce was obviously processed and I wouldn't have been surprised if the entire dish was premade.
Cappo's looks very nice, but the clientèle is obviously happier with the low price of their food than the quality.  Despite being incredibly close to my home, I won't be dining there again.
Cappos is a place I never went to and then suddenly went to 3 times in a row. Â I have to say this, the food isn't anything extraordinary or gourmet, but it's very good and you get large portions. Â The waitstaff is excellent and attentive. Â The prices are so reasonable, I don't know how they stay in business. Â We have enjoyed soups, salads, eggplant parma which they do very well. Â I'm not a sweet sauce person, so I'm not over the moon on the sauce, but the food is tasty. Â So from reviews, I understand that the next time I go, we will order pizza.
Review Source:Cappo's makes a decent sandwich for a decent price. It's really nothing incredible, but it is quality eats for a reasonably cheap price. I had a few friends who worked there, they said it was clean in the back, and from what I've seen it's reasonably clean on the inside, although you shouldn't be expecting anything special...mostly wooden booths, some tables, nothing fancy.
They are being forced to move by the city due to a remodeling process from what I understand, so look for a relocation and remodeling sometime in the future.
