    Nice family style diner. Went for lunch and it was decently busy. Was able to sit right away and the service was good. Ordered the tomato basil soup and the tomato wedge? I forget the name, but it was chicken salad on top of a cut out tomato. Chicken salad was a good portion and very tasty. Was served with side of fruit. It was perfect for a quick light meal.

    As stated in many other reviews, if you are looking for a home-style meal, but are away from home, Tate's Place is the place to be in Portage.  Also, they have a great breakfast menu.

    Generous portions of delicious, reasonably priced food, served quickly. Why go to a fast food place?
