Encompass Nightclub

Encompass is now permanently CLOSED!

Great atmosphere.  Staff is so amazing!!!  Great prices.  Great shows.  Favorite place to go.

What you have to (or probably already can assume) know is that this is the ONLY gay bar in Northwest Indiana.  Period.

I'm glad Encompass exists if for no other reason that LGBT folk have a place in the region to go and be themselves, and meet others.  It is despearately needed in the area.

That being said, Encompass charges a cover which is just never cool, and drinks are on the pricier side.  However, if I'm visiting Indiana, it's a price worth paying to keep this business going.

I only hope that, one day, we see more bars, pubs, and clubs of the same ilk spreading into other NWI communities.  As cliche as it may seem, these bastions of LGBT culture serve a much needed purpose: a place for fellowship.
