The ultimate dive bar, which is what we were looking for.  The sign out front says that "Key Largo" was shot here and I was afraid it would be too tacky/touristy but the person who recommended it said it was full of locals/nice people.  Mangy old dog laying on the floor just inside the door welcomed us. Kathy, the bartender, was nice and pleasant, and tired. Said she had been swamped all day.  Drinks were strong and  good and, by Keys standards, cheap. Nothing fancy, just good.  People at the bar knew each other but didn't make us feel like outsiders.  When Kathy filled a box with empty bottles a regular took the box outside for her. That kind of place.  We will go back.......and spend an evening.
