We dine here often when in Townsend. I think sometimes people see a buffet and forget this place also has a menu !! Â The service is always friendly and prompt, the servers have been here for years ! Â Menu items I can recommend are the fried grouper......awesome, generous portions.....ask for a take out box. The sliders are wonderful, they actually make their burgers with really good beef. The sweet tea is great, and refilled regularly, servers will offer some for the road as well.
As for the country buffet, the salad bar is very good with lots of selection although the iceberg lettuce can be a bit brown on the edges at times. The vegetables are pretty much what a tourist would think was southern home cooking, actually it's more out of a can. BUT......the fried chicken is VERY good.....And with the buffet, the brownies they make routinely are great.
I recommend you try it.....we enjoy the breakfast here as well.
Very homey and "country". Husband got a burger and I got a grilled cheese and veggie soup. Both were decent... nothing to write home about, but affordable (10% discount if you're staying at the Talley Ho Inn) and decent. Many of the items looked very heavy. The service was very quick and friendly.
Review Source:Typical small town place with very basic homestyle food. Â They had a buffet set up while we were there. Â We had cheeseburgers which were hand formed and juicy, they give you lots of lettuce/tomato/red onion which I really like on my burger. Â Other than that pretty basic stuff and not really my cup of tea. Â We just didn't know where else to go in Townsend. Â Once we found Miss Lilys Cafe we never went anywhere else.
Review Source:In all of the restaurants in all of the world, this is THE best restaurant I've ever been to. Â The customer service should be a role model to all others, it almost feels like a member of your family asking you if you need something else or would like another drink or dessert. Â The food is made with love and I swear there's a team of Grannies in the back pouring decades of cooking secrets into every bite you inhale. Â
This place has the best burgers I've tasted and their breakfasts are stuff of legends, I can't stress enough how everything on the menu is 5 star quality. Â I've eaten here twice in a day for several days straight before and each time my meal and service were 5 star. Â You would never expect to find this little gem of culinary delight in such a small town and seemingly just off the beaten path to one of the best national parks in the country. Â But boom, right there it is, in a great location with some of the most breathtaking scenery you'll ever find out a restaurant's dining room window.
This place is truly magnificent, the pancakes and burgers and everything in between are top class. Â That with the service and scenery cannot be matched. Â The prices are average for the area and if you know about this area, then I'm telling you, why go to Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg and brave the traffic when pure bliss is right here on the quiet side of the Smokies? Â There's really no need and you'll never forget your experience. Â I have no idea why more people don't comment about this wonderful restaurant, and I've been here dozens of times and I even live in Texas now. Â When I visit the area this is the place that always keeps me coming back.
