Carthay Circle Restaurant

Hallowed history celebrated here! One beautiful multi hundred dollar bill of perfect dining and ambiance, steeped in history harking back to 1937. In the very same theater, Mr. Disney released the first motion picture version of Snow White.

The celebration of history is so tasteful, walls adorned with history everywhere. Loved the way they took it and transformed into a sophisticated eats haven for CA Adventure guests.

We went for the $60 prix fixe 3 course Menu, which includes VIP reserved section to watch the 9 or 10 PM World of Colors bam!! Wow!! Water, light, animation, fire extravaganza. One gets to choose from amongst various options within the PF.

Perfect 11 oz ribeye, no bone in...with a delectable, rich blue cheese, grape jus. Soup of tomatoes was spot-on, and I cannot wax poetic enough over the chocolate gateau of creamy, moist greatness. No portion was small....bread was quite good as well.

Space is nice and sophisticated. We were seated in a quieter room by the open air dining balcony, but one can choose the main room, or many offshoot wings. Even private dining rooms for parties. Nice touch; thumbs up!

I loved my cocktail of Tequila Daisy and such.....tried a Sagelands merlot. Very, very excellent.

My total was $88, incl generous tip of appreciation for SPOT-ON SERVICE. What a consummate professional out sweet lady server was. Lots of fun!!

The food was great! The atmosphere was great. The service was slow. Although it was slow, I wasn't in a rush so it didn't bother me. But for the price I won't go back unless we have a gift card.

If you are looking for an extra special experience with your visit to the Disneyland Resort then you definitely will want to have dinner at Carthay Circle. My girlfriend and I came here for our anniversary while we were on our visit, and when we were looking for places to have a special dinner Carthay stuck out as a clear favorite. We called a few weeks in advance because we read that they strongly suggest reservations, and made ours for 6:00 PM. We arrived about 10 minutes before 6:00 just to let them know that we were there, and surprisingly we were taken upstairs with no wait at all. There are a number of reviews saying they waited for an extended period of time, but we had no wait at all.

The hostess that brought us up and to our table was very kind and friendly, she greeted us and told us happy anniversary, asked us if we had dined with them before and explained how the building was the replica of the original theater. When you first get to the dining room you may feel a little under dressed because it has a very upscale decor but you will soon notice that other people are dressed like they were in the park also.

We chose the World of Color menu that has select items to choose from and includes passes to a reserved section of the World of Color show that night. Our waitress was excellent and told us about their menu and how they plan it around seasonal items and cook/assemble everything to order. With the WoC deal we each got an appetizer, entree, and dessert. Every dish we got was EXCELLENT, and I would not say that about just any dishes. The seasonal soup and salad were flavorful and fresh. The entrees seemed perfect in size and prepared perfectly. My girlfriend ordered the rib eye, which was cooked to a perfect medium-rare. I had the risotto which was MAGICAL! When we got our desserts, chocolate layered cake and pound cake with lemon curd, they both came with a candle to celebrate our anniversary. My girlfriend also asked to have the raspberry sauce on the side of her cake, they put the sauce and everything in little ramekins which I thought was impressive and above what we expected them to do. Both items tasted incredible.

Overall, our experience was above and beyond what we expected and it is thanks to the staff and the cooks at Carthay. Everybody seemed to know it was our anniversary and congratulated us, and every item of food we ordered was amazing.

ALSO! The World of Color section of seating provided by the meal is WHERE YOU WANT TO BE! We were able to stand in a location with nobody in our way or in our view of the show, and the show is simply AMAZING; it left us speechless.

If you go in expecting a very magical meal in a magical setting, then you will not be disappointed. Pricing may be higher than some will want to spend, and there are so many more options for those people. Don't let the prices hold you back from having an amazing time and you definitely will have one. I know that we plan on going back every time we are in the parks.
