Nice place. We got a large pizza to split between two (more than enough). We weren't expecting too much from it but were pleasantly surprised when it came out very fresh. Mine was veggie and the veggies were all crisp and not over cooked. Dough was fresh and had herbs in it. Very good!

After just visiting Multnomah Falls, my boyfriend and I took a drive, happened across this restaurant and decided to stop in for a late lunch.  Given it was about 3pm on a Friday afternoon in a small town, we were the only customers in the place.  The server informed us (when asked) that they're usually pretty slow in winter, but in summer it gets very crowded.  The restaurant is under new ownership, and she mentioned they plan to add salads and maybe some other items to the menu in the future.

The atmosphere was very quaint. I liked the antiquey-looking clock they had at the bar (and, as a photography buff, actually wish I would have taken a picture of it).  The server was very friendly, a little on the talkative side, but it didn't bother me.  The menu features your usual bar fare. We each ordered the salmon chowder to start. I thought the flavor was really good, but the texture was a little off for me.  It was so thick, you could have probably eaten it with a fork.  I think if they thinned it out a little, it would be a great soup.  For our entrees, I ordered a cheeseburger and my boyfriend ordered a French dip and we decided to share our sandwiches.  While my cheeseburger was good, it was nothing to write home about.  The French dip, however, was outstanding!  Probably the best French dip I have ever eaten.  I think it was the combination of the bread they use, and the flavor of the meat and au jus.  Unfortunately, given I live over 1,600 miles away, it's unlikely I'll have a chance to return any time soon.

The server also offered us each a sample of their horseradish, which they sell by the jar for I believe $5.00.  My boyfriend and I can both attest it was really good.  And I mean REALLY good, so if you like horseradish and wanted to order some, you won't be disappointed.  I believe she mentioned they even sell it by the case - and ship.
