I like Caterines.... My wife & I Â and some old friends from the 70's met at this place. Â I frequent Due Amicsi in Brielle and knew of this place. Â Everything was wonderful, food drinks & staff. The setting is right on the beach with the waves crashing in. Â Perfect... and yes..the good old 70s... some things never change... Enjoy..

Heard the food was good but the customer service is horrible! When I called for some simple information about the place the gentleman on the phone was extremely rude and bothered that I was asking questions. We ended up going somewhere else because this showed the poor quality of customer service

My favorite place to be in the summertime. Excellent food, service, entertainment, and atmosphere located right on the ocean. The best apps are the Oyster Rockafellers. Its a must have.

I went to Catherine's while in Seaside over the summer and fairly enjoyed myself. The setting was very nice overlooking the ocean but the food was only ok. I wasn't impressed with the wine list or the menu and there are many other Italian restaurants that serve better meals within a 10 mile radius. The service was also rather slow and sparse, you had to motion to a waiter to come to your table if you needed anything.

I heard that they took a pretty hard beating by Hurricane Irene and hope the restaurant can reopen and maybe take a look at things that don't really work. It's a good place for people who are vacationing but not really for locals and I also wouldn't suggest bringing children here, the meals are served very slowly, and I went on a non-crowded Tuesday night!

First of all, this restaurant is in Ortley Beach, not Seaside Heights. It is part of the Surf Club. We decided to try Catherines the other night. They have inside seating (air conditioned) and outside seating under a canopy overlooking the ocean. Both are great. We decided on the air conditioning.
The owner was there that night and comes to your table to make sure everything is fine. I looked at him and I knew that I had met him prior. We used to go to a restaurant in North Jersey called Sonya D'oro which we loved. I asked him if he worked there and sure enough, he was the owner. I knew we were in good hands. Catherines is an Italian restaurant with some great dishes. They also have steaks which I ordered and it was very good. Overall, the food was great, the service was great and we look forward to coming back to see Bobby at Catherines.
