I went to this place once. Â Brian Dempseys is extremely small but the drinks are moderately priced. Â This place seems to be more a a neighborhood "regulars" bar. Â They even have name plates at the bar where the regulars sit.
There is no other seating besides the bar and the bartenders are not fun nor are they easy going. Â They rejected my friend's ID because she didn't receive a new ID from the DMV yet and the ID stated UNDER 21. Â Even though she had other forms of proof, the bartender told her he cant serve her.
If there was zero stars, thats what they would get
I never visited this place wen it was called Celebrity, but now that it is Brian Dempsey's of Little Neck, I still find myself wanting more from a bar I have to trek all the way to the border of Long Island to get there. I really only come here because my boy is the bartender here twice a week, and quite frankly, I can never see myself coming here on a night when he is not tending to my drinks.
What can I say, the place is trying to shed the image of a dive bar, but that is precisely what it should be. The drinks are overpriced, they have nothing on tap, and nothing to eat - nor are there any eateries near by. My boy is working hard to help the bar out, beer pong, karaoke, hell even True Blood, but I think they need to listen to his ideas more, and lower the damn prices before they have any real success.
*Bars in the ass-end of Queens should not charge Upper West Side prices. EVER.
