This place definitely stepped up it's game with the remodel. It's come leaps and bounds actually. They made it nicer by putting lounge areas and tables around, put some cool tributes to HSU Lumberjacks on the walls, they now take credit cards, the bar is a pretty marble, a whole new stock in alcohol varieties, etc.
Before, this was mainly a place just catering to local rednecks, which is fine, it is in McKinleyville, but now all types of people can come in there and feel comfortable.
We went here to see Gary Farmer and The Troublemakers with some friends. This place didn't disappoint! Had a few brews and played some shuffleboard before the big show. Met up with another Siksika and we started speaking to each other in Siksika. This place is NOT like the other bars around here in the sense that there are a lot of locals and working class people. Personally, I think everyone here was friendlier than the college crowd that I'm used to. After all the fun I had with the good music and plenty of dancing, I can't wait to go back sometime!
