I've eaten here twice, for lunch only. The food is always delicious with a good presentation. Portion sizes are fairly large, so you get a good bang for your buck. There's an outdoor seating area with an absolutely killer view. The service is friendly and the staff is knowledgeable. Be sure you sit in the covered outside area. The Chalet is around 4500 feet above sea level so the temps are pretty cool, even in the heat of summer

Swizterland Inn is an amazing place to stay and to dine. We have been visiting the Blue Ridge Parkway and staying at Switzerland Inn for years. It gets better every time we go. They have recently updated the rooms and added outdoor dining. The views from our room and the restaurant are amazing. We cannot wait until next year.

As we were up i the mountains anyway, we wanted to give it a look.  I am a German native and we were told it was a little piece of home. Not only did they not serve anything even vaguely European, (aside from the prerequisite sausages that everyone thinks we eat on a daily basis) the food was a farce..the chef was trying to pretend that he understood the concept of fine dining and failed so miserably it was almost hilarious,  The frog legs were rubbery and underseasoned unless you count the addition of cayenne.  The shrimp were also cold and overcooked.  The risotto was dry and the lobster bisque was basically a bit of lobster drowned in so much cream that the idea of flavour flew out the window.  They were hosting a huge wedding at the time so the fact that it took us a hour and a half to get through dinner was understandable, but the wait was so not worth it.  As I understand it, the menu changed from Swiss food some time ago and the change is not good..at all.

Worth visiting for the Louisiana prime rib, great flavor. Apple brandy chicken was just ok. Salad had good flavor, but needed to be chilled. Atmosphere a little stale.

Friendly service and food was great!

Prime rib was nicely seasoned and au jus was rich in flavor!  The horseradish cream sauce was ok.  The mashed potatoes had a strong garlic flavor and the green beans were nice and crunchy!

I think I died and went to Epcot, but just the Swiss portion. We got rained out of camping yet another night.  Soaked, cold, feeling like we are in the middle of nowhere.  We happened to stop here thinking that there was a gas station.  Much to our surprise and delight, there we found an Inn so fabulous that it might be the perfect setting for a future Wes Anderson film, or the Shining.  The rooms are modern and tasteful, but the rest of the compound has classic and elegant touches.  We had dinner, breakfast and lunch here.  All of the food was great, notable highlights were a kick butt starter salad, Swiss Onion soup, blue cheese NY strip steak and a lobster club sandwich.  The staff really works hard to make you feel like royalty.  There is some room for improvement here., because nobody we asked would yodel for us, not even the "ricccolaa".

The clientele is all over 55. I think you might have to be 50 just to enter the town. This is a great place to send your grandparents.

The food is fine, and the service is good.

Yeah..OK. it is a chalet resaurant, alright. A lil tad on the higher end on the prices, the food is fancy but lacking the oomph. Maybe I was expecting more of country food in the mountains.
The service was prompt, never had to wait between the courses. We had food from there three times during our stay , more so coz nothing else is open in sundays in that area.
The Inn as such has a spectacular view of the mountains and is a good value for money.
