Champps has taken a turn for the worse. Service used to be much better.  Bartenders run around looking at the gound - Look Up !  There are people waiting for you!  Sandwhiches are still fairly good.  Used to be packed, kinda happening.  In 1998 I'd give it 4 stars.  In 2013 it's only 2.

Great service from Bill@ the bar!  Great beer selection!

This is a great place to grab an affordable meal that is always solid. Their burgers are, in my opinion, their best dish. Probably my favorite place in the area to get a burger. I've never had a bad meal here and feel that they give very generous portions.

It can get busy in there and I would avoid the place on game-night (unless you're into that). They have TVs and projectors everywhere -- the place is at it's center a sports bar after all! There is outside seating in the warm months which is what I prefer.

Other favorite dishes are their chicken salad sandwich and the california turkey wrap (pasta salad on the side is off the hook!). From what I understand they have a very large beer selection.

Plenty of parking at the shopping area has a massive parking lot.

I am writing this review for a friend that went here and could not wait to get out! Kids gone wild, loud screaming kids! Service and food was good but the kid thing was enough to make her not want to go back.

Has been so inconsistent over the years that Forrest Gump should have dropped the chocolate simile and compared life to Champps....you never know what you're going to get.

The good: burgers are typically decent. Kids menu is a great bargain (entree, drink, and sundae for +/-$5...free on Tuesdays).

The bad: Portions have been getting smaller and smaller. For example, the French dip is a joke (small and flavorless lunchmeat). Kitchen is deathly slow. Beer selection is poor.

The ugly: The kitchen is not that good...they can mess anything up...and often do. I have too many horror stories to go into them all here.
Wait staff can be pleasant or horribly indifferent jerks: (1) When the kitchen messes up (they often do), when appetizers come out after your entree (yes, this has happened multiple times), when utensils are dirty and you have to switch them out 3 times before you get a clean place setting...the wait staff and management will give you attitude and a 'half-assed' apology.

Best bet is just to skip Champps altogether.

If there was an option for things to have "negative stars", it would definitely go to Champps. This place is only good if you want to be surrounded by the purest form of South Jersey douche- men and women alike.

They bombard you with 50000 television screens (granted, it is a sports bar) in hopes to keep the mouth breathers happy and at bay.

I do not even know what to type here. This place just sucks. It probably makes way more money than it should, hence the reason the management have not looked at the numerous complaints to try to fix the stupidity.

This is not a place I would frequent. The staff is not very helpful or friendly and for the sub-par food and nosiy atmosphere doesn't really draw me in. The food here is "okay" but there isn't anything about it that would keep me coming back. They do give large portions which is nice because you are getting more for your money, and they have a good variety of beers on tap. Meh. Try it, maybe you'll like it, but it's not my cup of tea.

DO NOT GO HERE.  I've been using Yelp for years, but the insulting service I received tonight prompted me to create an account.

I went here Saturday evening with a friend.  We sat at the bar, ordered dinner and drinks, and waited on poor service.  After sitting there and spending money for two hours an announcement came on saying everyone had to pay $10 for the boxing match within the next hour or leave.  No one working there bothered to mention that when we were paying for our food or drinks.  I pointed out that we had been paying customers for hours.  The meathead in a shirt two sizes two small replied he didn't care and we had to get out unless we gave him $10 a piece.  That is right ladies and gentlemen, a THREE HOUR retroactive cover charge.

I feel extorted.  Does the mafia run this place?  Needless to say I will not be coming back.  You can get the same atmosphere and not be extorted as a paying customer at PJ Whelihans, Dublin Square, The Taproom, or Pour House to name a few.

I had a surprisingly delightful (yes, delightful) lunch at Champps - and my expectations were not high (I have dined at another Champps and am not a big fan).

Someone else paid (add a star right there).
Lunch special of pasta (any kind you wished) and a 1/2 size greek salad were very good.

HUGE portions of run-of-the-mill formula cooking - but if you choose wisely you can get a decent meal here.

Tip:  Come after the lunch rush (we were here around 1:30 PM) during the week when the place is much less crowded.

So surprised I liked it as much as I did.

This is one of the regular spots I go to with a friend who lives in the area when we don't feel like going somewhere exciting and are just in the mood for some (veggie)burgers.  The food here is good.  Prices are fair.  They're consistent, which is good.  It's always packed, but tables open up quickly.  There are tons of kids, which could be good if you want to bring your family, or bad if you hate kids.  Service is okay, but it's crowded and loud.  Don't go here for a relaxing dinner.

service sucks... drinks are pricier than the avg restaurant and im quite disappointed with the overall experience.  with that in mind, I don't understand why so many people go... ok sure they play club music.. but why would i go to champps for club music when i can go else where? everything just doesn't make logical sense.. bottom line: just go else where, unless u want to regret where your money went the night before

"Meh" covers this place perfectly.   Below average food, below average service, too loud for a sit down meal.

Pluses are a big beer selection, plenty of TVs and ummm well that's about it!

Chicken satay skewers were dry, chewy and inedible.  Ahi tuna was badly sliced and over cooked.  The burgers were ok, but nothing special.

In the end a solid place to go to watch a game with your friends if no one is eating.

The food is bland, the beer is overpriced. They keep sending me coupons so whatever.  I will give them points for their blue cheese dipping sauce.  However, service was very slow.  It was15 minutes after we seated before anyone talked to us.  Almost 40 minutes to get our food.  Gordon Ramsay couldn't save this place.

I've been here several times, it's your basic sports bar.  They definitely get thumbs up for having a LOT of beers on tap, and have some pretty good happy hour specials throughout the week.

We came here most recently on a Sunday, and lo and behold, they have a brunch menu!  We actually ordered lunch, but it looked like an okay assortment of brunchy things: french toast, omelettes, etc.

Overall three stars, a solid place to grab a bite, and the chicken satay skewers on the appetizer menu are QUITE delicious.

We eat here all summer because they have a beautiful outdoor patio area away from the noise of the sports bar area. The food is always amazing and the wait staff is eager to please and well-trained. I read the other reviews about poor service and that has NEVER been our experience.  Try the patio before you write this place off. We NEVER wait on weekend night because everyone goes to the shore around here.

Average food, terrible service.  My wife ordered a burger medium rare, when it finally showed up to the table it was cold and looked like it had barely been cooked.  When we got our servers attention, she did take it back and got her a fresh one which was properly cooked and didn't charge us, but it pretty much hosed the evening.  Tables all around us were complaining about the service.  Doubt we'll be back.

I had the ribs, which were tasty and filling, but were nearly room temperature when they were placed in front of me :/ My co-worker got the Fajita's, which were sizzling.  The ribs were on the lower end of the scale, relative to other ribs I've had.

The beer selection and the TV's are really my only driver for going to this joint.  They're open pretty late, too, so...yeah...lol

Desserts are meant for two people who just had a meal, as they could be a meal in themselves.

For a recent family get-together, we ended up here after our first choice (Joe's Peking Duck) was not available.  As soon as I walked in, I groaned.  Nothing screams Generic Sports Bar like this place.

Our party of 9 was seated promptly and drinks and orders came out fairly quickly, but after that, it seemed like service came to a dead stop.

I never saw so many busboys, waiters and waitresses standing around doing NOTHING while our table lay littered with dirty plates and our empty drink glasses begged to be refilled.

I had the half rack of ribs, which at $14 was way overpriced.  I make better ribs at home.  These were dry and small, not very meaty.  The steak fries were good, though for some reason, my serving was fairly small in size and quantity (maybe 10 fries) compared to others in our group. So consistency seems to be an issue.

The only high point of the meal was the mile high dessert - a towering concoction of different ice cream cakes with a ton of chocolate syrup and whipped cream.  It took 5 of us piranhas to finish it.

Was here during the President's day for early dinner. I didn't know it was Burger Night, apparently, Monday night is 1/2 off Burger Night.  I ordered the Turkey Burger and my hubby ordered the Firehouse Burger.  Turkey burger meat was bland and dry.  Firehouse Burger was bland and dry also.  BK Whopper has a more juicier and tastier burger!  Also, the buffalo wings were awful.  The wings were not crispy and didn't seem cooked all the way.  When you bite into it, there's a little running pink juice rolling from the bone.  Not good!  I do like there waffle fries when they are hot and not cold like how they served them to us.

Man, you can just taste the fake/processed-ness of all the food which makes it really hard to enjoy.  Wanted someplace easy for a Sunday Eagle's game and my father suggested here.  Wanted to enjoy some wings but they also tasted pretty bad.  It's my own fault though, if you want some good, bad for you bar food then you should head to a real bar!

Sometimes I feel like too much of a baller to go to Applebee's but not classy enough for PJ's.  Champps Americana is absolutely perfect for that specific situation.

Two stars for the extensive but middling beer selection.  You can talk all you want about how you have over fifty beers on tap but when about half of them are lame, mass produced domestics (or faux imported beers which are actually produced domestically) you're not fooling anyone.

i don't live in the area, but it seems like the only major chain restaurants to eat at. the food was comparable to other major chain restaurants like applebees, fridays, ruby tuesdays, etc. - not super spectacular, but okay. their drinks, however, were horrible. we sent back two drinks because they were undrinkable. but to make up for that, their desserts were amazing.

I used to live in good ol' Marlton.  They made Champps just before I left for south Florida and I visit the place everytime I visit cuz' they have a great sports bar atmosphere that symbolizes the area.  It hasn't changed one bit since I left which also makes it quite a place to visit.

I had the unfortunate opportunity to go back to Champps for a friend's birthday.  The bathrooms seemed cleaner this time (although I lucked out on door #1 so who knows what was behind doors 2 through 5) but the experience as a whole managed to bring the place down to a one-star level.  Our server was terrible.  It was crowded and we had a big party, but the guy would take drink orders from two people and then scurry off, completely ignoring the other people at the table.  It took him twenty minutes to tell me that the wine I wanted wasn't available and another ten to bring me something else, which I didn't like (not his fault, I know, but frustrating nonetheless).  I flagged down a manager and calmly requested that he exchange my glass of wine for a 22 ounce beer (bigger is always better, but especially when you have to wait a year for your next drink). I made it clear that I was asking him and not our server because I didn't want to wait another twenty minutes for my first drink.  Perhaps a little harsh to get the manager involved, but when I spotted my rejected wine on our bill at the end of our visit, I felt it was even more justified.  The next time my friends want to hit this place up, I will NOT take it like a "champ" but will instead meet them at the after-party.  Harumph!

I'd never been to a Champps before, but I've heard much about it. Particularly positive reviews. I really was looking forward to trying it.

I'm happy to report that my visit went really well.

The place was pretty crowded, although we didn't have a wait for a table. I've been told that on nights when either the Eagles or Flyers are playing, it's packed with hundreds of screaming fans, but our visit was pretty tame. Not too noisy either, which I liked. Overall a good sports bar atmosphere.

My burger was excellent, cooked well as I ordered it. Everyone else at my table was very satisfied with their meals. I would have liked to see a bigger plate, as my burger and fries were practically falling off on to the table. Remember folks, in the world of plates, size does matter.

Service was good, nothing spectacular. Our server seemed to be a bit busy and/or pre-occupied with other things. I think it was just the stress of a Friday night.

All in all, this was a very good dining experience, and I'd easily go back the next time in town.

Everything and I mean everything about this place is HUGE!

Huge portions of food/entrees which will give you a huge stomach if you finish it all!

Huge Bar which seats at least 100+ people & which will give you a huge hangover as their drinks are always awesome!

Huge outdoor seating on front & side of building so that huge parties can be comfortable outside!

Huge parking lot to park your huge trucks or cars (well only if you have an F350 or Hummer or such)

Huge menu (they have 100's of food choices & everything is always above average)

Huge flat screen TVs all over the place  (that will make your pupils huge if you watch too much...I think)

(i'm trying to keep up with my "huge" theme here...bear with me)

All in all - I like the HUGENESS of this place & always had a good time.
