After a long day at Holiday World, I convinced my family to go to The Chateau instead of eating a so-so dinner @ Holiday World. This was based on previous postings to Yelp on this restaurant. Â We drove the 10 min and walked into a restaurant where three tables sat uncleared, one table got up to get their own utensils, followed by another table a few min later. The only server visible was getting drinks one at a time--not making that up! Â After about 10 min of sitting w/my hungry husband and three kids, w/no menu or a hello, we decided to get food somewhere else. Even if they were short of help, there was no effort to move things along quicker or to stay on top of current customers. Perhaps this is fine for locals, who from the postings seem to be satisfied, but I prefer a more customer-oriented dining experience. Â We'll stick w/Holiday World food from now on. Â While Yelp has been wonderful when I am on travel and in urban cities, I think I will stick w/tried and true favorites for smaller towns.
Review Source:Pleasant surprise! Â Family-style dining on one side, full bar on the opposite side separated by doors. Â A nice place to take my family, including two school-age children. Â The buffet was alright, some of the food looked like it had been sitting out too long. Â The salad bar was amazing, and the chicken noodle soup was delicious! Â My children ordered from the menu and ate their entire meal (which almost never happens)-- and when they were still hungry, the staff was kind enough to let my husband and I share our meals with them (we had the buffet). Â They even let the kids get dessert off the buffet, even though they'd ordered off the menu. Â If I ever take my family back to Santa Claus, we'll drive the 10 minutes here to have dinner.
