The Cheeky Monk Belgian Beer Cafe

So I have tried to like this place on several occasions but they just don't get it.  Not only are most of there employees rude and really just indifferent but I had a monk salad this week and got very sick! Someone doesn't wash there hands perhaps:(
So unfortunately Broomfield has very little to offer outside of chain restaurants so you think cool place good beer but so not worth it!! Avoid at all costs!!!

OK let me preface this that as I ahve been to the other two Cheeky Monks and this one has the same great beer selection. I mean what is better than a nice 8.5% Belgian beer. However in regards to food this one leaves something to be desired in comparison to the other two. Please read the other reviews if you want as I have rated them very high. I could have had higher expectations but the other two did not disappoint, especially the colfax location for food. Therefore I have to give this place three stars.

Just a heads up as most places in the orchard this location can get busy so just make sure that you either call ahead or have a reservation on the weekends.

I've been here a couple times now, so I feel it's appropriate to review.
Service was good, food was (by and large) not good at all.

We started with fried pickles, which tasted fine.

Our order got messed up a couple times, and it was fairly simple -soup instead of fries- the Chicken Caesar wrap was decent, but the gorgonzola pasta was oily and I honestly could barely taste gorgonzola in it. Boring and bland.

The kicker comes with the French onion soup... Everyone knows French onion soup, right? Rich broth, soaked bread, onions and provolone cheese on top, baked and browned. Soup came to the table, provolone was on top... just sitting there, not melted at all. Soup was almost cold, even. Showed the waitress and asked for a different cup of soup, which wasn't a problem. Out came... exactly the same thing. We might have thought it was the same cup of soup if we hadn't already tried the first one.
Tasted it again, thought maybe it was just the restaurant's "style" or something, but the menu specifically mentioned that it was traditional. Broth was watery, cheese was rubbery, bread was not even something we wanted to try. Left the soup alone.

After the drive home, boyfriend gets sick from the soup. I don't think we'll be visiting again.
