Madcap Theater

Inexpensive. Comfy seats, good acoustics. Everyone is always so polite and helpful. The improv troupe puts on a different show every single time- I know because we stayed and watched two in a row one night just for the heck of it. And the comedy is good! You'll have a fun time here. It's not great for kids. But great for a date night or friend night.

It's taken me way too long to try this place, as I have lived here 6 years. Heard nothing but great things, so expectations quite high. I really enjoyed the experience, but here's why I give it three stars, not more. The vibe is kind of stale. No character to the place. The food and drink selection is really sub par, especially for Denver. We are #2 in the country for best beer city and all I can choose from is Coors, Bud and Fat Tire? Not a single decent food option. Family friendly, so there were kids. I have four kids, but when I am on a date night with the wife and looking for really great improv, I am not looking to sit next to a 16 year who won't hold his personal gas problems to himself. Impulse Theater definitely does right bu requiring a drink so as to keep the crowd adult.

That all said, the actors were fantastic and I laughed a ton. Great cast, great enthusiasm, excellent execution on the improv. No small task! Will likely go back again sometime and will take the older kids to enjoy with us.

I was visiting friends when I went to the Madcap theater. I thought that it was a riot, I laughed for the majority of the show (there were some slow spots). My friends and I also appreciated the no drink minimum, the intimacy of the venue and the great service. I would definitely go again on my next visit to Denver.
